DirecTv 18-Inch Satellite Dish

My son installed this as a replacement for an old dish that failed. It was easier to install the entire dish rather than disassemble old dish and remove failed LBN. There was a question about if a new LBN would fit on the old dish as the old one was on a 1" tubular arm rather than the rectangular arm. Old dish was beginning to rust and getting a new dish was a no-brainer. Installed, connected RG-6 cable, powered up and worked great!

Best $38 I ever spent. Bought this to replace a brand new King Quest automatic Satellite Dish piece of junk. This was easy to set , has a bubble level at top of mounting arm. Level the top, use a compass to aim Azmith, set degree of elevation (you can get all that info by inserting your zip code in receiver satellite settings), connect the cable directly to your receiver, and bam. Had a 89% signal meter strength. Tweeked it a little an got up it to 96%. Local channels and all my home package at my camp site. Standard Deff., but that's why this is so much easier to align 1 and not 3 satellites, which I have read can be a real pain in the a**. I highly recommend this dish, very affordable, easy set up, and Amazon had it at my door in 3 days. The tax I paid on the King Quest would pay for this.

I've had my DirecTv system for almost 15 years. As the years have passed, I've noticed that the dish was getting a chalky covering and the LNB on the end of the boom arm was starting to look a little nasty. More to the point, with heavy weather in the area we started getting signal drop-outs with even minor rain or snow. So I bought this replacement dish and LNB kit from Amazon. First impression is that this is much sturdier construction than my old dish. I had no problem mounting the dish on the eaves of the house using 3/4 inch lag bolts. After mounting the dish on the mount, alignment was a snap, especially using an inexpensive meter also bought from Amazon. It did NOT require a rocket-scientist to install and aim the unit. Common sense and a couple of videos on YouTube were big helpers. I've been through a couple of big rainstorms already with NO drop-outs.

Came with a decent size bend (sorta looks like a tiny speed bump in the middle of the dish) around the middle of the dish, the paint/coating seems to be chipping off a little bit. Works well enough, but looks pretty dinged up and came with no instructions (although it was fairly obvious how to put together). For a cheap dish it works, but appears to be a refurbished or poorly manufactured part.

I purchased this to replace a very old dish that I had been using for about 20 years. I did have to make some modifications to it because the diameter of the mounting pole had gotten larger over the years. The pole on my tripod was too small in diameter to allow the replacement dish to mount securely. I fixed it by cutting a section of the new pole out and fitting it over my tripod pole. Then I drilled holes through it and secured it to my tripod pole with a long nut and bolt. Then I was able to mount the dish on the small section of larger diameter pipe and tighten it securely. It worked perfectly and I am back in business getting satellite TV in my RV.

I was a little bit scared when I saw the dish for the first time because it is not exactly rounded it is about 18 x 20. But I installed it and setup my directv receiver and I can now see lots of standard TV channels (I selected 01: 18" and in type I selected multi-switch). Great for my RV. I tried before a HD dish antenna but it was extremely difficult to find the satelites. With this standard one, I can even move the dish a couple of degrees and I still get signal

Original dish got damaged in a snow and ice storm. Got this one and it worked fine. Easy to install.

Came quick, fairly easy to install. Have new LNB dual one tv picks all channels up other doesn't so not sure what the issue is, great signal with test. Overall good product.
