Best Vacuum I've Owned - And That's Saying Alot!
After recently installing new hard floors throughout most of our home, I was searching for a lightweight vacuum that would clean both the hard floors and area rugs. I never thought that I would ever say that I now enjoying vacuuming, but this Shark Rocket Ultra-Light stick vac has been a real changer. It has great suction and the swivel head makes it so easy to go under furniture, around and through dining table/chair legs and along baseboards. This is the first vac that gets squarely into the corners under the kitchen cabinets. The vac is super simple to assemble is less than a minute, to empty the dirt cup, put on attachments to sweep air duct grilles, refrigerator grilles, ceiling corners or wherever. It is also so lightweight that it is no big deal to carry up and down stairs for multi-level cleaning. In fact, our basement is finished and has carpeted floors, and this little gem thoroughly sweeps the carpet. I love this vac so much that I just gave one to my daughter as a birthday gift. Be sure to order some extra filters to have on hand when you clean the one that comes with the unit. That way, you'll be able to vac when you need to without having to wait for the filter to dry. The only cons for this unit is that with the location of the unit's cord, you have to drag that around with you to empty the dirt cup and that it is top heavy and doesn't stand on it's own. However, those are negligible given the suction, maneuverability and lightweight design. Highly, highly recommend!

Shocked!!!
For decades I have had a wall vacuum unit and I thought it was just okay. Recently the brush head broke and I came onto Amazon to price a replacement. Over a hundred dollars just for the brush head unit! Since I was never in love with the system I started pricing Dysons...all but the cheapest unit was out of my price range and I wasn't overly impressed with the reviews. So I headed over to the Shark reviews, looked at the various units and found I could get a nice unit for about $50 more than the replacement part for my wall system. Easy to assemble in a minute or so, easy to understand how to use...nice accessories. Since I was in the kitchen when I was putting it together, I decided to try it out first on an area rug my dog lays on (he's a short haired breed). The rug was about 2x4 no big area here...to say I was impressed was an understatement...I was shocked at the amount of dust and hair the unit picked up effortlessly...actually it was kinda creepy to know all that dirt was in that little rug, it filled the cup about halfway! I put on the floor dusting attachment and finished the kitchen, the cup is now full. Easy enough to empty the cup, I didn't understand all the whining about this feature in the reviews. Moved onto the dining room, nearly filled the cup again in just that room and it had been recently vacuumed. Moved onto the living room and got about 75% of it done before I had to find a new outlet, I was plugged into the kitchen and I have a big house over 2000 square feet! Filled the cup again and...maybe it was my imagination but my bare feet on the carpet felt cleaner. Easy to maneuver, you don't have to push it, it self propels forward saving a lot of backache. The other attachments were pretty much what you get with all other units with the exception of the mini ones that can clean you keyboard...I think it might suck up my laptop it's so powerful, I haven't used it yet so I can't comment. Used it some more the next day on more floors and bedroom carpets and was shocked at the amount of dust and hair in the cup. Now I will qualify my statements by saying I have never owned a Dyson, I've never even used one so I can't compare the two. For the difference in price, there is nothing that the Dyson could offer me that I would want or need that the Shark doesn't already give me. I will also add that I was shocked how light the unit was, with all the "bones" up high by your handle, I thought reaching high with the attachments to get cobwebs off the ceiling would strain my wrist...nope, it was effortless. My ceilings are really high, 20 feet in some areas and I was able to get to all but the highest points and those areas I could get with a small step stool. As far as how long the unit will last...for the price if it only lasts until the 5 year warranty runs out I will be happy, I've spent a whole lot more on units that only had a fraction of the cleaning power that this baby holds. I feel I got a really great value for the price. That you can't stand it up on it's own is a minor hassle I can deal with. I recommend this unit highly!

Love, Love, Love
Love Love Love this little machine... First because it is simple... I'm tired of all these fancy vacuums that have too many filters... too many corners for the dirt to go around.. belts for this belts for that.. bags that you have to hunt all around town to find... all which get clogged up or stretched out and you have to purchase continuously. My old Hoover clogged up so easy that I had to tear apart the whole machine every time I used it or it would just suck in dirt in the front and throw it all over my feet and the floor behind it. This little machine has a washable (or replaceable) filter.. a powerful motor, a container for the dirt and a head to push across the floor or more appropiately "hang on" while the suction pulls you across the carpet. Second reason I love it is .. it is lightweight. I have issues with my back and the bigger ones caused pain when I used them. Twisting and turning trying to get the clunky machines around furniture. The Rocket practically goes around the furniture itself, you just have to guide it. I have a two story house and I used to have to have two vacuums - one on each level- because I could not haul the heavy ones up and down the 13 step -steep stairway.. This one is so lightweight that it is no problem. Third, the main floor cleaning head is smaller than most vacuums. I live in a 100 year old renovated house which has lots of smaller spaces, closets, This smaller brush head makes it easy for me to get around the nooks and crannies of this old house and under the antique furniture. No longer have to get the dust mop out because this machine lays flat to reach way under the furniture. Also it comes with a hard wook floor dusting attachment, with a washable pad... EXCELLENT! Which brings me to the 4th reason. The attachments... It comes with the regular brush head, the hardwood floor dusting head, three upholstery cleaning heads. One is a velcro type head which is excellent gathering up and getting rid of pet hair. (We just recently acquired a house cat for the first time and he has claimed a certain chair as his.) And it has a collection of smaller heads for cleaning things like your keyboard and computer fans. Also is very portable, it will rock in vacuuming the car carpets. Fifth reason is that is is small enough to hang on the wall. It comes with an attachment so you can hang it up and a handy bag for all the attachments. The old vacuums had to be moved here and there because they were always in the way, even in storage. Being in a 100 year old house, the house wasn't designed for storage of electric appliances and tools. We had to store it in the porch that goes out the back door and had to move it every time we wanted to go out the door. This one I can hang in the coat closet .. out of the way. I also love the long cord. I plug it in in one spot and it reaches my whole house on that level. Sixth reason is the price. It was affordable for us. We are on a tight budget and it fit in with that. No having to go to the bank to take out a loan for something to clean your floor. It is more powerful than my big clunky Hoover and I will look forward to cleaning now. If I had larger floors and more spacious areas I may have bought the bigger floor model Shark, but with my smaller spaces and bad back, this is the one for me.

Geat Vacuum. The brush didn't last a year tho
I bought the Shark HV302 vacuum in May of 2025. I replaced my big bulky vacuum with this lighter one. I have 4 dogs. 3 short hair and 1 golden retriever so dog hair is in excess. I've loved it every day. I used it multiple times a week. I love that when the brush gets clogged up with hair it has grooves on it so I can cut it off. After not quite a year the brush stopped rotating. I took it apart (super easy to do) and cleaned it all out but it's still not rotating. I think this is the end to my favorite vacuum. It was an amazing, powerful and lightweight. Honestly I'm probably just going to buy it again to replace my last one.

Unstoppable Machine, Vacuum Cured My Depression
You're reading reviews for this vacuum because you have two concerns: hair and weight. Consider your problems solved. First, hair. As you can see from the attached image, I have the kind of long, extremely thick hair that strangles vacuum rollers dead in nanoseconds. This vacuum's roller has a groove carved into the plastic so you can quickly and easily slide a knife or scissor blade in, severing every hair with no hassle. Instant cleanup, no destroyed roller. The suction is no joke. There are two settings: one that is as powerful as my old vacuum on max power, and one that is TURBO CHARGED. This will demolish ground-in dirt and hair even from high-pile carpet or rugs. The suction is so powerful, even carpeting and rugs that have been pounded completely flat have the fibers physically pulled upwards, so even if your hairy little monster of a pet likes to destroy carpet or rug fibers, after vacuuming they feel plush and wonderful. Con: on Turbo mode, you will smell burning hair. The motor really is not kidding around and will set itself on fire before it allows the tiniest speck of dirt to remain on your floor. Second: weight. It's remarkably lightweight and very easy to heft around even with tiny elf arms. The maneuverability of the vacuum head is excellent and can work around such tight unwieldy places as between chair legs. All the pieces pop apart and reassemble with no trouble, so storage and transportation will never be an issue. Con: almost all of the weight is in the top handle, where the motor is. This can make it a tiny bit difficult to get the vacuum head to stay on the ground properly, and makes it nigh impossible for you just to stand the vacuum up anywhere and leave it there. Being top-heavy does it no favors. General design con: the canister is somewhat small and connected directly to the motor so you can't just pop it out, empty it into a bin, and pop it back into the vacuum. It's very easy to empty, but you are still going to have to heft the motor around with it, and the motor is obviously still going to be plugged into the wall. Good news is that the motor/handle/canister all pops free of the other bits with a simple lever press, so it's not like you need to carry the entire vacuum with you when you head to the bin. Bonus pro: there are a huge number of attachments, heads, and specialty bits and bobs in with the vacuum. I don't know what half of them are used for. Some are obviously for cleaning off stairs, or ceiling fans, or getting into crevasses, but some of them, who even knows. Literally whatever kind of application you'd like this vacuum for, there's probably a specialized nozzle for it. This is the cleanest my stairs have been in four years. Final pitch: look, I get it. I have a A Thing about money where no matter how worthy a purchase it is, a triple digit price tag makes me flinch. I put off getting a new vacuum for months and watched my own mental health spiral, knowing a contributing factor was that I was living in rising masses of dirt and grime. Danger had its element, too; a pie plate exploded (don't ask) and glass shards found themselves all over my kitchen floor, and some ended up in my feet. No vacuum to clean up the shards I couldn't see and couldn't get up with a broom and dustpan. I know being surrounded by painful messes we're powerless to fix is a 2020 mood and all, but this metaphor is a little too on the nose. I caved and bought the vacuum. I cranked her up this morning. This is the best I've felt in months. I know the price tag is a little steep compared to other lightweight vacs, but it's powerful and versatile enough that it's absolutely worth the expenditure. If you're looking for a worthwhile vacuum that will demolish human hair, pet hair, ground-in dirt, and particulates from any flooring you could possibly have, all while staying under $200, this is it.

I absolutely love this vacuum for my small living space. Like, For Real.
Power? Excellent. Convenience of formfactor? Excellent. Maneuverability? Well past Excellent. Value for money? Again, Excellent. Works great on carpet and hard surface (Like a bathroom floor). Best dusting attachments I've ever used. I used to barely vacuum once a month. Now it's a minimum of once weekly. I love this little machine!

Replaced a big, heavy vac for lots of tile floors.
So far so good. I don't have much to add that hasn't already been covered. This is the first and only product I've ever actually ordered because I sat through a late night infomercial (or three) for said product. It just seemed like it would really be exactly what we needed in our new home. Our house is almost entirely bare travertine tile. So our big, heavy traditional canister vacuum designed for carpet and pet hair just isn't appropriate here. Unboxing was fine. I was up and running to show it off to my mom-in-law in no time. I got it hung on the wall in our utility room with no problems, though I wish they did include more hooks, or maybe even an organized attachments caddy to hang so I don't just throw everything in the included bag. Good cord management would be a nice add as well. In the trial runs, it handled the tile perfectly. My bare feet picked up no dust or grit after a pass with the Rocket. It also did a fine job on a new cotton & jute rug, pulling up all the loose fibers and such before they could spread all over the house. Suction is good. Maneuverability is good, if not a little loose. The plastics don't feel altogether durable, but I do expect it will last a while. It's a vacuum after all; it doesn't exactly get abused. I like that it is lightweight and maneuverable; that it has a nice, long cord; that it hangs out of the way on the wall; that it handles bare floors better and easier than sweeping & swiffering; and that it's easy to empty and clean. I wish it stood upright on its own; that the bare floor attachment had a cord hook like the carpet head does; and...well I guess that's about it. I got the one with the little car kit and such since it was the cheapest on sale. But I don't know when I'll actually use that. Pretty nice little set of tools if you ever so want to get into the cracks & crevices, I suppose.

This Vacuum Works Great....So I Bought a Second One.
The Shark Rocket Ultralight Upright Vacuum is a top notch vacuum I have used. Which Customer it is best for? This vacuum is ideal for a variety of customers from the busy college student to the busy mom. Being more light weight it does cover a smaller area of surface, however it is made up for by how light and quick it picks everything up. The fact that it is so lightweight and has all the attachments makes it easy to pick up a mess from big to small even only using one hand. Trial-run The way that I was able to know that this was a good and durable product was because I left it at mother's home for a week. With three little kids and also sometimes her granddaughter she is always busy picking up after them and having to multitask. She loved this product. She was able to use one of he attachments and vacuum the couch while having one hand free to lift up the cushions. Even the kids were able to use the vacuum to clean up some of the messes. By the time I returned to bring the product home. She had me order a second one for her to keep. Positive Comments I am able to vacuum up my entire apt in only a few minutes without needing to stop and empty the vacuum until I am completely finished. This is ideal for me as a busy student because of my limited time I can spare to tidy up my home. The tiny attachments appear to not be handy for cleaning messes or too small but on the contrary they were perfect when I needed to clean my car. I used the tiny attachments to get into the nooks and cranny of the car. Using a normal car vacuum, I would not have been able to reach the smaller spaces or if I tried I could have ended up damaging the interior. Recommended Improvements One thing that I would recommend that they change is the cord. Having a cord when you want to vacuum a large area is great but when you want to vacuum a small area it would be nice to be able to simply grab the vacuum and quickly start vacuuming. Most cords are short so when you get too far away you have to switch outlets. This vacuums cord is really long making it less necessary to have to be switching the outlets very often.

Love this vacuum.
I did a lot of research before buying this vacuum and I’m very glad to say it has lived up to expectations. The suction on this is incredible and I find it very easy to use to get dust on baseboards and furniture. I’ve vacuumed so much more since I’ve gotten this. The storage cup is small so you will have to empty it regularly, but I don’t mind as I usually have a trash can near by to do that. I live in a condo so I’m also not covering a lot of space. I will agree with other reviewers and say it is heavy on the wrist, which might be too much for some. I work a physical job though and am a young mom so it only took me a few days to get use to and now I barely notice or care. The biggest selling feature to me is the fact that it stands to store. I didn’t want to have to mount a vacuum on one of my walls and so that more than anything sold me on this model. The second suction level does an incredible job on my rugs and with two cats and two kids that’s a big plus too. For anyone worried about cord length, I can reach my from the front entrance of my condo all the way to the back of the living room (+35ft) with ease from a single plug in the middle. So unless you have a huge house or a closed off layout you should be able to do at least 2-3 rooms. Over all if you’re comfortable handling the weight of it I would 100% recommend this vacuum.

Funcional

Fantastic for the daily suck!
Okay-so perhaps I shouldn’t compare to a dyson canister (10yrs old), but is all I have to compare to so here goes! As it is a hand held it is not realistic to compare suck power to a full size so it is about 80% as strong as my full size. It did not suck out the sand from my boat carpet as I shook the mats they still sprinkle out sand. The dyson sucked it all out. It is SO small in comparison however how could you expect more? For the price$250 I hope it will last. It takes longer to suck up stuff and so it will end up getting longer use than the canister so may decrease its life time too? I would highly recomend this for one who has smaller space as it works perfect to clean up quick jobs or daily jobs and cause it’s so light it is not a stress to grab for a quick daily clean of hard floors etc. has awesome attachments. I was able to detail my car well. But FYI very little suction with the car detail kit...even spinning the air intake attach. It doesn’t get too much out other than dusting those hard to reach spots with the flex i hose into otherwise unreachable areas. I give it a strong 4/5 as it wasn’t WOW factor but I am picky so take that with a grain of salt. Love how easy it is to store and the bag that comes to put all the attachments in. Great little tool! Not to replace full-size unless you live in a small 1000 square. Foot max home but perfect for the camper/car/boat detailing!!! *update 2 months use: I love it...scratch that...I freaking LOVE this thing...Dyson hasn’t come out of closet since I purchased lmao! Love how quick and light it is...BUY one of these things!
