Nice small backing plate to make a rotary or DA a bit more flexible.
This is a nice smaller backing plate for a rotary or DA polisher. It works well to get into small areas, or work valleys where body lines would get burned up by a larger pad. It feels like it will be pretty durable. The adhesive on the backing plate makes attachment and removal of pads easy.

A fine piece to add to your detailing arsenal
This was a great addition to have in my car detailing arsenal, as the smaller size allowed me to detail hard to reach areas with a durable tool that did not show any signs of compromise or worry. For testing, I re-polished my headlights to eliminate yellowing lens. The 3” wheel fit seamlessly to both my dual-orbit and rotary polishers and was secure the during the entire process. The wheel also can fit to any household driver, providing multiple use options with different tool options, which granted high remarks in terms of functionality. This is a solid tool to add to your detailing arsenal and I cannot recommend enough. A solid value for a higher quality tool.

Fits on my PC 7424XP.
Works well on a Porter Cable 7424XP polisher. I wanted a 3” backing plate for my polisher so that I could use smaller pads for more intricate areas(mirrors, headlights etc). The Maxshine brand has a pretty good reputation in the detailing world as making good budget products so I figured I would give this backing plate a shot. This fit my PC 7424XP and is nice and compact. I’ll add a 3.5” Lake Country pad to this and make it the perfect machine for doing small areas. The Velcro backing seemed well made and “sticky.” Price is good when compared to similar products. As long as this holds up with time and use, I’m happy.

Perfect fit on my Porter Cable polisher
It fits on my Porter Cable polisher perfectly. Before I only had non-threaded pad for 3in pads and was looking for one like this. It screws in and stays in good. It's slightly smaller than my pad so the edge doesn't stick out and as long as you keep the right position, it doesn't scratch the body. In addition to the original 6 inch, it's nice to have a 3 inch for smaller areas.

Solid backing plate for finishing
I used this Maxshine 3" dual action backing plate with their 3" cross-cut polishing foam pad on my dual action polisher, and it worked exactly as I hoped. The attachment was secure—no slipping or wobbling. The smaller backing plate feels sturdy and made it easier and more precise than trying to manage those sections with a full-size plate and pad. Even at higher speeds, the hook and loop held firm, and the plate didn’t generate excess vibration or feel unbalanced. It allowed the smaller pad to do its job with confidence, especially during headlight polishing where control and consistency really matter. If you're planning to work in more detailed or tight areas, pairing this backing plate with a quality 3" pad is a great combo. It added versatility to my setup and made those finishing touches much more manageable.
