Orion 10024 SkyQuest XX14i IntelliScope Truss Dobsonian Telescope

This review is only about quility of componets. It's a huge mashine. Very well build. You have to be in good shape to caring some of its component's. Most heaviest is the tube with main miror. The dabsonian mound is made of laminated wood. Accembling this scope is litle tricky if you have electronics to deal with like intel scope, but the rest of the scope is fairly easy to accembled.

The telescope is very well packed and arrived safely. The installation & assembly instructions are excellent. The supplied eyepieces are budget quality and I would have preferred a right angle finder with an illuminated recticle rather than the straight through supplied. Properly set up the computerized object locator works very well - much better than I expected. However, the display has a slow response time so that scrolling text is sometimes difficult to read. Overall the telescope is quick & easy to set up (about 15 min) and great fun to use. The views through my own better quality eyepieces are fine. Good value for money. Update Dec 2019. Optics probably better than I originally thought given some great views of Jupiter and Saturn. After more than three years this scope is still performing like new.
