Vital, perfect control unit for home solar projects.
If you want to build your own solar powered project with battery backup, then this is an essential piece of kit. It's even a vital bit of kit, because it does it's job based on a simple principle of storage battery voltage sensing. My small project has 620w of solar panels, a 300Ahr LFP battery, and a 2kw pure sine wave inverter. This powers two deep freezers which use (when both are on) no more than 240w, barely 10% of the inverter capacity. The switch limits on this kit can be customised, and I have set mine to switch back to grid when my battery reduces to 12.5v, and revert to the inverter once the battery voltage increases past 13.1v. The switch between the two power sources is so seamless and quick that my freezers don't stop running if it happens while they're running. So far I've proved to myself that a fully charged battery can easily run my freezers, now it's a question of keeping the battery charged well enough. Ok with the UK weather I might need more panels, but here's the thing;- with this device you don't have to worry about your battery running low because you have the peace of mind knowing that if it does then you have the grid as backup. This is my second device, when my previous item went faulty after over two years. I have to hand it to the seller here (MOES) who gave me a good discount on my replacement.

Clever, but it does have some issues....... Read on!
Unlike most Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) that switch over to an alternative power source when the existing power source ‘fails’, this ATS switches over automatically at your chosen pre-set voltages. An example......... When the Solar Battery voltage drops to say 12.0 volts, it will automatically switch to Mains (Grid) A/C Power thus protecting your LifePo4 Batteries from being completely drained and/or or the LifePo4 Battery BMS shutting down the power. Then when the Solar Panels have recharged the Batteries up to say 13.0 volts, it will automatically switch back to Solar Power…….. Easy! This makes it an ideal ATS for a small Solar Panel (PV) System, as it reduces the risk of your LifePo4 storage batteries from being completely discharged. Negative and notable points...... Despite this ATS being rated at 1100 watts, it does have voltage and power (watts/amps) limitations depending on your specific setup. In my 12v Parallel PV System, the recommended limit is 600 watts/50 amps. The intuitive design of this ATS does have some notable flaws, some of which could cause major safety issues…… The internal relays are mechanical and there are no apparent safeguards/protective circuitry should a relay or a power source fail (which of course they can). The terminal block and screws on the front on the ATS is not covered or protected, they are therefore live and some will have 230 volts available for little fingers or metal tools to touch. In my humble opinion (and this is what I ended up doing), the safest way to use this ATS is to have the secondary power source as a backup LifePo4 Battery or Batteries, rather than the mains grid. Given the lack of safety circuits as shown above, this will ‘reduce’ the risk of damaging your Inverter, any safety issues with the grid and/or the risk of fire.

Easy install and works as described
Very well made and intuitive in use. Enables maximum use of solar power without having to check levels and switch over manually. Also protects batteries from over discharge.

Fantastic device
Not straight forward to wire but once you get your head around it it's easy enough. But it's a fantastic device to save some cash on electric and save your batteries

Excellent item, seamless switch between sources, battery voltage measurement quite accurate
I run my computer equipment via an Inverter run from Solar/Battery and bought this to automatically switch to mains power when my Battery runs low. It has been flawless. I never notice when it switches to/from the Inverter. The only extra that I would like is remote access to see the state. Not a biggie as the rest of my kit is Victron and so I can see the Battery and Inverter status via the Victron Connect app/VRM.

Works great
I got this to allo me to allow devices to work all the time on my small 100W solar panel. It automatically switches the 110V power between the converter and the grid based on the power available in the battery. Works great!

MOES Dual Power Controler 50A
Packaging is good, when I unbox everything, it's fine, when I open the module, the relay is 12 volt DC 60 ampere, the specification is 50A load, in my opinion, the capacity of the relay can handle safely at 50 ampere, the jumper wire it looks high capacity conductor, at this moment, not yet testing for a real load.

Good, but no priority set possibility
No priority setting possible Useless if you want priority on external (grid) power Returned to supplier

If you want to make use of a small solar system you need this!
I enjoy experimenting with solar power and I've never had a permanent solar system. The main problem with using solar power as a hobby is that when your battery runs low, your inverter and all the devices connected to your inverter will turn off too. This makes it really difficult to reliably use the power you generate, at least till I learned about this little gem. With this ATS you can connect your grid power, and inverter as an input, a plug (or what ever you decide to use) as an ouput, connect a voltage monitoring cable to your battery (from the ATS), and this device will automatically switch between your inverter and grid power depending on your batteries state of charge without ANY interruption do your devices. If you are watching TV, or gaming on your computer during the switch you will not even notice it. The best part is you get to determine the low voltage at which it changes to grid, and the high voltage when it changes back to your inverter. This means that you can run your devices off your solar panel/battery and then when that power is used up it will swap back to grid power. The next day when the sun comes up and the battery charges, you are back to solar power. This is great way to make permanent use of smaller solar systems. The other exciting thing is that you could (if your batteries can support it) add more and more panels to the system and get usable solar power when the sun is up without having to spend a ton of money on batteries. There is feature i wish this device had, mainly the ability to manually choose if you want to use grid or solar power, but it's not a deal breaker. This device can show an incorrect voltage reading (might be off by .2 volts, but if you hold the up and down arrows for 3 seconds you will be able to adjust the offset. I have used this system for over a week now and it's working flawlessly, i wish i had known about it a long time ago!
