Yes, the tracking for the at300 is approx 2 grams, you can be ok from 1.5 to 3, depending on Lp conditionsNOTE: my personal taste... I really really hate the sibilant characteristics of the NEW black "CARBON" needle,the replac. stylus is approx 13 bucks, if you can afford, you will have better performance if you buy a AT-CN525AL and use the stylus on you REGA, the aluminun needle has a very very warm musical sound (you can keep the extra cart. after removing the Yellow part)On other topic, if you really want to BOOST the performance, check for ELLIPTICAL needles from JICO like ATN3651E
