Silicone Long Hair Swim Cap

This swim cap is perfect! My hair was protected and remained relatively dry and it remained in the cap the entire swim! I didn’t struggle without any slip issues and go stretch covered my long her perfectly! It was very was easy to use!

This swim cap has been working better than expected. Like others, I’ve had issues of the cap slipping off when I swim longer distances. I have another Speedo cap for long hair and that has a softer elastic feel. This one has a thicker material which made me think it wouldn’t be as elastic but it’s actually pretty flexible. I’ve found that if I have the front of the cap a little lower, almost to the middle of the forehead, it stays on pretty well throughout my swim. Still slips off a wee bit on longer swims but not a big issue with a quick fix! My hair length is a little below my shoulders and this cap works well for this length.

I bought this cap when I first started swimming. I have longer hair so I figured this would be a great starting point. The cap does a great job for what it's meant too. My hair is a few inches below my shoulder. It took me a few times to get the hang of putting it on. I recommend stretching the cap a good amount before placing it over your head. I put my hair in a bun and stretch the sides over the top of my head. Very similar to the how-to videos I watched. I've noticed that the cap can pull back on my front hairline when continuously swimming without adjustments, I will tend to find a few loose hairs when I take the cap off. So, I tend to check/adjust throughout my swim, which can be annoying. The cap is silicone and fits tight, so it makes sense why this happens.

I have a large head (man sized) as a female with hair half way down my back. I can get this cap on with no room to spare. I needed practice with my technique getting it on. I find it's super easy to slip on if I powder it after use. I've used it for a year and a half now with no holes or tears. When it wears out, I'll replace it with the same thing. Water will get under the edge but that's what happens if a hair is sticking out at all. My hair grows down my neck and the roots are exposed so of course that wicks in water. But my hair isn't soaked, just damp around the edges. The true point of a cap is to keep hair out of your face and out of the pool...or make you move faster in the water if you are a competitive swimmer. These caps are not designed to keep your entire head of hair dry.

Tried on multiple people, does not work as advertised. No room for people with short hair let alone long hair. It does not grip well at all. Maybe would work for a child size.

When I received the item it looked dirty or used. I thought about returning/exchanging it but don’t know if it will just be thrown in a landfill and don’t want to contribute to more waste, so figured I’ll just accept its flaws. It is larger than other swim caps but doesn’t have the tapered edges that provide extra coverage for the ears, etc. The material is thicker than my other swim cap and not as stretchy. It does have extra space to fit my long hair which I wear in a bun. Once the cap is on it’s hard to tuck stray hairs into the cap because it’s so thick and inflexible. It stays on pretty well, just slips a little bit. My hair gets wet around the edges. I love the silver color.

My hair is approximately 18 inches long, going half way down my back and naturally curly. I put my hair up in bun with scrunchie and the stretch the cap over my head and it fits perfectly. My hair still gets wet, but I'm okay with that since its no longer a tangled rats nest when I get out and I wash and condition with swimmers shampoo. It doesn't slip off my head, either. I swim 3-4x/week and this is a must for me. I'll probably order a second one just to have a spare on hand!

I bought this cap in June 2011 and I'm buying another now because I wonder if the first cap is near the end of its life. It gets worn typically 3 times a week. It's thick and doesn't try to slide of the top of my head. My hair is long and layered (below bra strap length) and it all fits in there in a big pile on the top of my head. It doesn't try to slide around at all and I find it comfortable. (I wear M in hat sizes if that helps at all....) I see there is a small nick at the edge now (which is why I'm buying a new one now) but it hasn't grown into a rip--yet. I think 3 years for a swim cap is great performance and certainly justifies paying a little more than the thinner caps.

A little tight, but over all very useful, it severe its purpose.

Much better than most other swim caps because it is flexible enough to pullover your head. Most of the others are just too tight.
