I am very pleased came in a box stating it was 18 5/8 by 14 3/16 . My old seat was ok but the plastic bolts that held it on deteriorated and broke after just 3 years . It was a cheap seat they basically put plastic throwaways on toillets you have to replace now a days . Since it was 7 bucks for the bolts and only 15 bucks for the whole seat I bought a new seat hoping it would be nicer . It is very nice . If I wanted to be critical the only downside is where the hinges screw into the seat you could get gunk build up . Otherwise it was great just pop the plastic cap and insert the bolt then use a phillips screwdriver to tighten . Really was installed in less then a minute . Very nice thick wood seat . Paint looked ok to me . The holes in the toilet are larger then the bolts so it could get a tad off center but never hurt the function like some have said theirs tilts to one side just loosen it , align and tighten down . It probally will move when you sit on it but again it doesnt effect function the only way to fix it would be to sleeve the bolts some how to fit tighter through the bowl which is not necessary . I am very pleased what a deal delivered for that price . Even at $27 the suggested retail price it would be fair . I wouldnt want to make one and glad I got rid of that cheap plastic one that came with the new toilet . I took it and mounted it to the lid of a 7 gallon pail after cutting the middle out of the lid and now have a portable toilet . I just line it with a trash bag after use pick up , twist tie and dispose when were tent or car camping .

I bought this to replace a broken flimsy plastic toilet seat that came with the $100 dual flush Sam's Club toilet I had installed three years earlier. (Incidentally, those toilets are a great value! Except for the seat, they have performed very well!) The Kohler seat fit well and was easy to install. The seat itself feels heavy and solid compared to the old plastic one, but it also feels colder to sit on. The Kohler toiler seat has a narrower back rim than the old plastic one, which is nice because it makes the toilet opening bigger. I will update my rating if this seat does not turn out durable, but it seems like a good buy so far. Update 8/9/14: Very durable! Cons I've noticed: -heavy so makes a loud noise if seat is dropped instead of gently lowered -the wood material allows faint pee stains underneath seat after a few years that don't come off with scrubbing, unlike synthetic toilet seats -cold to sit on

We ordered and received this couple months ago. we have grandchildren who visit regularly who climb when they shouldn't using the toilet seat as a step to gain access to the shelves above, slam it shut and it survived the test of all this and more. It hasn't scratched or cracked. Toilet seats aren't usually a topic of conversation but when We were in the market for one I wanted to know how others liked it, was a durable and most of all was it comfortable so I'm going to hit on each of these. Having already stated this product is durable and has withstood some abuse(even the shelf above falling and all its weight on in it with it landing on the toilet seat) with no cracks, scratches etc. it is a comfortable one. So with saying all the above this is a product that is well made affordable wth a little comfort. What more could you ask for? It was packaged very secure and came right on time. We would recommend this to all who are in the market. Hope this helps anyone out there in the market for one. If anyone has any questions about the product. We will be happy to answer if possible.

Bought two. Well made, easy to install, fit my toilets just fine. I love that these are cheap. Who wants to spend a ton of money on something you... well, you know what you do on them. Plus, I tend to replace my seats often because I get fanatical about my spring cleaning, so this saves me a good amount. My only gripe with them is that when I have lifted both the lid and the seat to clean, when I go to put the seat back down, the lid wants to come down with it. I have to push the lid back up so it doesn't fall on the seat. Not really a problem for me, but I don't want it to fall on my two year old's fingers if she ever goes to put the lid down.

So you might be thinking to yourself, "Why would this fellow, Peter, be reviewing a toilet seat?" Well, I'll tell you why. This toilet set is quite possibly the most comfortable thing I've ever sat down on. It seems really, really high quality (it is wood), it was very easy to attach to the toilet, and seems very secure. When sitting on it, it has just a *little* bit of give, making it seem almost slightly form fitting. ((The other toilet seat I recently purchased was from a dollar store, and I definitely do not recommend that one! Sometimes paying just a slightly higher [but still very reasonable] price will yield significant dividends)) In all seriousness, I am very, very happy with this purchase. I will definitely continue purchasing from Kohler as necessary - when moving to a new house or apartment, perhaps, but I expect that this particular toilet seat which I recently purchased will last me a very long time!

I am very pleased with this product. I was looking at purchasing a thinner, plastic Kohler seat with the quiet close to replace the existing thinner plastic Kohler toilet seats I currently have. When the price of those went up, I elected to go with this model. I am happy I did. The quality (and weight) of the product is very nice. These are made of wood product with an enamel type coating. Super easy to install, easy to clean and dare I say, easy to sit on! I would recommend this to other buyers who are looking for a quality, name brand product for a really excellent price. Kudos also go to Amazon. Amazingly fast shipping, I ordered this product on a Thursday, was delivered on the following Monday, FREE SHIPPING! As a side note, these are available in the home improvement stores, but are more expensive than Amazon's price.

Fit our kohler toilet perfectly. Easy to install. Colour is a shade lighter than the original. A little pricey, but a good sturdy seat.

Fit well ..easy to install

We replaced a 5 year old plastic toilet seat with this wooden one. It had gotten scratched somehow (cleaning products?). This seat is a bit heavier and therefore you can't let the lid drop or it bangs quite loudly. We got it in summer so I can't say if the seat is any warmer than the plastic one, but they say wood is more comfortable. It was easy to install, fit perfectly our elongated toilet, great deal for $17 when they were minimum $50 at Home Depot.

It's little bit heavy because it's not plastic, but I like that part. Please check if your toilet is compatible.
