Great for nose hair, easy to use, safe. Uses AA batteries.
I've known these have existed, and had one at one point, but for years I've just been yanking out nose hairs with a tweezers. Saw this on sale and figured I'd give it a try and I regret not doing it sooner. It's so much less of a hassle to groom now, and so much less painful that going back to the "old fashioned way" is inconceivable. I'm can't comment about comparisons to other similar products that others have made, referencing this item's particular drawbacks as opposed to others, as I've only really used this one. However, I will say that for me, in the relative void of my inexperience, it works perfectly. It doesn't hurt, it trims what I need it to, and it only takes seconds. I haven't had an issue with it not working. The only complaint I have is that it's not rechargeable, as it would have been nice, but at this price point I can understand why it is not a feature. It does get hot, but I've never been burned. But I'm not holding it against my skin for any great length of time either. I suppose you could burn yourself if you were trying, but I really don't think it's likely to come up otherwise. This is something that's inexpensive (especially if you wait for a sale), that anyone should have for grooming purposes. If used as intended, for your nose or ear, it's perfectly easy and safe to use. Also, as I've noticed some people ask, I wouldn't say this is really appropriate for anything else other than your nose or ears. While you probably COULD, maybe, use it on other areas I wouldn't recommend it. For people trying to do eyebrows, there are specific grooming tools for that which will work a lot better. For those trying to use this on your face or sideburns, again, just get an electric shaver or razor blade. And for the people trying to use this "down below" for their private bits and pieces, I definitely WOULD NOT suggest you use this - there are a great many specific electric and traditional shaving tools (that you can find just by searching on Amazon) that will work better, without causing potential injury. Seriously, you'd have to trim one or two hairs at a time, and "down there," that would just be a nightmare.

Works Well - No Pain - Cleans Easily - Inexpensive
Well, I never thought I would be writing a review for a nose and ear hair trimmer, but here I am. First, growing older has not been that bad so far other than having to contend with freaky hairs growing from places they shouldn't be. Anyway, if you are in the same boat I'm in you can either: 1) Simply choose to ignore the offending hairs. (worst choice) People don't want to see your gross nose and ear hairs. Of course this might be the right choice if you like being shunned or enjoy watching people as they try and divert their eyes from your hideous outcroppings. 2) Pluck them out. (2nd worst choice) This is not on painful but your nose is full of nasty germs waiting for an open wound to infect. This choice also leads to being shunned. 3) Cut the offending hairs with scissors. (3rd worst choice) Besides not doing a good job on the hairs, sticking a pair of scissors in your nose or ears on a regular basis is at some time is going to result in a visit to the ER. 4) Use a nose and ear hair trimmer (winning choice!) But does this work? Yep, see below. Hopefully at this point you have decided that a nose/ear hair trimmer is the best choice for tackling the job. Now you need to pick a trimmer. First, don't be like me and waste hours researching nose hair trimmers and reading reviews (hopefully this is your last). I already did the research and test for you, so read on. I read a lot of reviews, compared features and prices, and the Panasonic ER-GN30-K was the logical choice (can use wet or dry, cleans easily, has an ergonomic design, is inexpensive). Once it arrived I was a little worried the trimmer would do nothing or worse, grab my little noise hairs and rip them out by the roots. So, after installing one AA battery I gingerly went to work on the offending hairs. To my pleasant surprise, no yanking, no pain, no wincing, just the soothing sounds of hairs being clipped. I did have to spend a few minutes during the first use getting things under control. But since the first use I probably spend an average of 1 minute twice a week keeping these hairs tamed. As for ear hairs, I don’t have a lot but this seems to work just fine on them also. Plus I use the trimmer to trim any wayward eyebrows between haircuts. And finally, clean-up on this is a breeze. I simply wipe the end with a alcohol moistened tissues between uses and rinse under the faucet every now and then for a thorough cleaning. So to finish up this wordy review, if you are reading this, you or someone you know needs a nose/ear nose hair trimmer this Panasonic ER-GN30-K is an excellent choice. Oh, if you don't already have a lighted magnifying mirror, get one. You'll be amazed (and probably grossed out) by what you have been missing. Update 2/25/2018: I’ve been using this trimmer for well over 3 years with no issues at all. 😃👍

Going Strong
It's April 2026, and this was purchased exactly 3 years ago and still working great. Easy to use, gets the job done unless you have really course hair. Had an odd odor in the battery compartment that I cleaned with some alcohol wipes.

Really Great, Durable
This makes the second one of these I have purchased over several years of use. I love it and it works well on nose hairs as well as ear hair too. It is powerful and you can run it under water to clean it. Like I said this is the second one I have purchased as the first one lasted for year, and I would still have the first one but lost it in a move. Great product and the design is awesome so it isn't awkward to work at any angle. This is a durable product that will last for years to come.

Buyer Beware!
This product works great, just be careful how you use it. Using it to trim facial hair from side burns, eyebrows, and other surface areas is fine. I used this to trim nose hair and I found out the hard way, the hair in your nose is there for a reason. I must say I am a little embarrassed, but if one person can avoid my experience that's ok. Evidently, I was not as careful as I should have been and remove to much or to close or both. About a week after I used this product to remove my nose hairs, my lymph glands in my neck swelled. I cannot be 100% this was the cause, but after speaking with health professionals, they also believe it could have been. This waxing and waning of my glands continued for a month. I first time they swelled, the glands were so tender, I didn't want to touch my neck. Then they would go down and in a couple of days swell again. Each time the pain would decrease. But, this continued for a whole month. My doctor gave my an antibiotic, but fornutately said not to use unless I really needed it. I went to my trusted Health Food store and purchased coloidal silver. I had worked so hard to get my intestinal flora in good shape, I didn't want to kill the good bacteria, if I could avoid it. Anyway, it worked. No antibiotic. Just BEcareful! Don't be stupid like I was because I must say I was a little scared. I will go back to using scissors for trimming nose hairs!

a must have for every man
I am not a person that cares much about physical appearance, but I have to admit that sometimes things go out of control and growing facial hair makes me feel I am turning into a ware wolf. Therefore I have used items like this in the past. Amongst the 3-4 similar devices I have gone through, this is the absolute best. Here is why: 1- A strong brand name (Panasonic) with a high reputation of quality items. 2- Very affordable: At the time I bought it I paid $12.5 (with free prime shipping)and this is even less than many cheap plastic toys. To me it is a real good deal 3-Very simple but effective design: All you need is an AA battery , no cords, no adapters are needed... 4-Does the job well. I use it to trim my ear and nose hair and it does it perfect in less than a minute with no pain. 5- Very easy to clean. It is an electrical device but those compartments are well sealed inside. All you need is to switch it to wet mode (shown with a water tap sign) and put it under the water. It gets rid of all trimmed hair instantly. 6- It is a good quality item that has worked great after 18 months of weekly use. Normally, I like mentioning about the negative aspects of the items I review as well. However I can not find a good one in this case. May be one thing to mention is that it comes without protective casing or bags which I can not complain for the price. Besides, it can stand upright so can be put in a bathroom cabinet easily so it is not a big deal at all. Final words go to the price fluctuations on amazon website... I have seen its price skyrocketed to $23+shipping since I bought it. At the time of writing the review it is only available from third party vendors and that is probably the reason behind this unfair price increase. I think it will eventually fall down to the original price of $12-13 whenever it becomes available directly through amazon. so I suggest keeping an eye on the price before ordering it.

Starts off great, but doesn't last at all
The trimmer was very effective. However, after continued use (once every 2 weeks possibly for 2-3 months) I had run into many instances that the product wouldn't turn on; the battery was not the issue, as I encountered same issue whether it was a new battery or not. I had to open the battery port and rotate the battery without rhyme or reason in the hopes that the product would turn on... sometimes it did, and other times it didn't. In some instances, I noticed upon opening the battery port that there was a foul smelling odor coming from inside. It seemed to be leaked battery acid. I don't know how or why this would've happened, but that's the most rational deduction I can make based on the smell and where odor was coming from. My guess is that the battery terminals corroded and did so very quickly. As for the battery acid odor, I can't really think of the cause of this. With the nose trimmer being advertised as waterproof, it doesn't seem to pass that litmus test. I'm stuck with this terrible product that doesn't work because Amazon refers you to Panasonic for being out of your return window. Panasonic is a pain to reach support because it is only available during working hours and when you're at work, it's difficult to contact Panasonic because you're, well, working. Panasonic offers a poor discount to more below average products unless you're willing to fork over some cash to buy something really nice. Overall, I would not recommend this product, as you'll have to replace shortly thereafter.

After crying bitter tears from a traumatic experience, I finally decided to get back on the proverbial nose trimmer bicycle!
Pros: - Lightweight - Long battery life - Blades cut efficiently (Doesn't pull out hairs) - Easy to clean (multiple cleaning methods available) - Small size for easy inclusion in a toiletry bag - Quiet Cons: - None at the moment Personal Experience: I'm getting to that point in life where I have to actually pay closer attention to the rogue nose hairs attempting to escape my nostrils. Actually, I've BEEN at "that point" in life for a few years. Years ago, I tried a generic version of a nose ear hair trimmer that I received as a novelty gift from a friend–and absolutely hated it. It pulled out my nose hairs, made my eyes tear up, and made me feel like I needed to sneeze for a half hour after the traumatic experience. Suffice to say, I angrily threw the cheap trimmer into the garbage can, cried some bitter tears, and vowed to avoid using similar trimmers ever again. So for the past few years I have been surviving and holding the nose hairs at bay by using nose hair scissors. Then somehow I was lured into trying the Panasonic ER-GN30-K nose ear hair trimmer because of a Lightning Deal. Yes...the call of a "great deal" was too much for me to resist. After my initial inspection of the trimmer, I cautiously whispered "lightweight, simple design, seems easy to use, probably will fit in my toiletry bag easily". Then I mustered up enough courage to stand in front of the mirror and stick the thing in my nose. The "whir" sound it made was quieter than expected, and to my incredible relief, it worked. It trimmed my nose hairs quietly and efficiently. Before I knew it, the experience was over and something strange happened. I smiled. I knew my traumatic memories were just that–memories–and I could now move on with my new Panasonic trimmer to bigger and brighter things that lay ahead. Thank you Panasonic Trimmer....thank you. Conclusion: Excellent trimmer that is lightweight, easy to use, quiet, efficient, relatively small in size, easy to clean, and excellent battery life. I definitely recommend this nose trimmer.

Absolute MUST BUY!
These type products are usually pretty standard imo, however, this is a HUGE step above the rest I've had over the years. Unlike the others I've tried (including high end brands/models) there is no fannying about trying to catch all the hairs. This catches everything! You can even trim the hairs on the edge of your your ears which all the other trimmers I've used have struggled with. Also amazing at precision trimming your eyebrows. BUY THIS, you won't regret it!!
