They are not boar’s hair brushes as some people prefer and recommend. These were purchased to use cleaning my engine bays on my vehicles. They can be used to detail inside your home or vehicle too, or a plethora of other places you want to clean. The bristles are quite soft. You get 5 different sized brushes, and the brush heads are pretty close to all the same length, just the diameter is different. The overall length of the brushes diminishes slightly in size relative to the diameter of the brush heads. There are holes in the handles for hanging the brushes on pegs. For the price (cheap), not much in the way of longevity is expected with these. Since cleaning my engine bay on 2 vehicles will not be a regular occurrence, I did not want to spend a whole lot of money on detail brushes. Thus far, I have used the largest and next to smallest to clean my dirtiest engine bay on my oldest car. It wasn’t the biggest of jobs, but the brushes performed quite well. I rinsed them thoroughly and plan on using them again. Since I did not use every brush on the one engine bay, I do have the others left to use inside my vehicles until the brushes fail. It is a plus that they contain no metal parts, which helps to reduce scratching other surfaces. I am pleased with the purchase. I included before and after pictures of the job performed.
