Coolibar UV Face Shield - UPF 50+ Sun Protection - Crestone

I had Coolibar's earlier model of a sun mask and found it very uncomfortable to breath in. I still have it after a few years of use but I finally decided to seek out a more comfortable one. Thankfully this new version fits the bill. The 2 layers are only attached at the very ends. That means there's a gap between the layers that extend for most of the length. The top layer covers your nose, mouth and chin only. Since it's short, your breath can escape the mask easily. It doesn't cling to your nose, unless you're breathing really heavily like on a run. The bottom layer rests under the chin (or maybe just over the lower part of the chin depending on your size) and provides complete coverage for the neck area. The back has some snaps so you can snap it closed to keep it in place over your shoulders. Also comes with a carry pouch which is very convenient and where I also keep my Covid-19 masks, so I can easily switch between the 2 depending on the environment I'm in. I've jogged with this cover and I can't really imagine any other kind of covering being more comfortable. I do wish the 2 layers were attached with snaps which would make the neck layer detachable. Sometimes I prefer to wear a sun scarf so don't need the neck layer. Still, it's not a complaint, just a suggestion. Overall, a great quality and very comfortable sun mask.

I was tired of getting sun exposure while driving. This is nice to have on hand to be able to snap on when the sun is too much. It works well and has good coverage. It’s also comfortable, light-weight and adjustable. The best part is that you get to breathe fresh air due to the clever design of two tiers of fabric.

I bought this to protect my skin from the sun while I’m gardening. I give it 5 stars for sum protection, but 3 stars for design, here’s why: 1. The mask has an opening for the mouth, and if it fits you properly, I’m sure it would work well without problems; however, if you have a smaller face like mine, the second piece will hang open exposing your mouth and chin to the sun. 2. The elastic on the nose area digs into the skin and caused some swelling and denting on my nose. 3. The elastic on the nose piece caused the mask to ride up into my eyes unless I was wearing sunglasses to keep it in place. I was able to fix the design/sizing issues with my sewing machine, but I think it would be nice if this came with a snap attachment for the lower piece, and a stretchy fabric (tapered) on the nose, instead of the thick gathered elastic. Other than that, this is great and protected my skin from freckling and burning, without causing my skin to break out! It’s also easy to wash and breathe through!

I can not say how blessed I have been with this face shield. I recently had Mohs surgery and need to keep my face free from the Florida sun. This shield surpasses my needs due to needing coverage under my entire length of my eye down my nose and smile line. The best part is the mask is open on the top half and allows me to carry on a conversation, walk, ride my bike and drink without taking off my mask. One of the most important times I use it is in the car while driving even though I have tinted windows because driving also affects how all heals and I do not want a scar. I do not even have to snap it in the back because it allows for significant coverage and additional air flow. Best of all it is extremely light weight and is fully adjustable over the ears to ones personal fit. I ordered the Grey and was concerned if I got makeup on it that it would stain but I just do a little pre-wash with Dawn dish soap and it takes it right off and then I wash it on cold and it's brand new again!! (Protect your face and body so you don't end up like me all I had was a speck of a freckle on my face... this is perfect for protection and a preventative to skin damage.)

I used this a few times when I went bike riding over the weekends, hiking and while driving! This is amazing - super breathable, can also be used as a mask. And the sun on my neck always bothers me while driving and this has totally solved that problem! It keeps the skin cool even at 90+ degrees! And my boyfriend and I got the same, but the button at the back can be adjusted for different people and it fits perfectly as there’s elastic in addition to that. Totally recommend this for sun protection, if you wanna do outdoor activities and protect your skin.

Ordered the white one in S/M size and decided to return it today. There is actually a rubber band around the head which is not shown on the pictures. I am not use if the size was the reason, the edge of the mask beneath my eye area was kind of tight, but the worst thing is I don't feel I can breath LOL. When I put it on, the fabric (it is a nice one though so I give 3 stars) would just attach to my nose again and again when I breath. I tried in my room only and can't image how I can wear this when I drive.

Great design, super comfy and breathable! It was amazing for my trip to Havasupai to be able to breathe while hiking and not breathe in the dust during the 10 mile hike in and out. I looked weird in photos though and was called a sand person.

This is everything I wanted and more! At first I was feeling meh about the style, but knowing we’re all going to be wearing masks for a long while still, and with the summer here, I knew I needed something that would allow for freer breathing and this design seemed ideal for that purpose. Last year I bought a long sleeve Coolibar shirt after reading results of independent UV test and do feel good about it’s products UPF. When I saw this mask among the search results, I knew a UPF mask was the way to go. I briefly debated the purchase due to price, but decided the benefits far outweighed the expense. It arrived today (dark grey) and I love it! My husband also tried it on, and not only was he was able to adjust it to fit on his big head, he actually liked it so much he asked me to order him one (he often jokes I have a tiny skull - so this really does fit a lot of sizes). Cheers to outdoor, socially distant, and safe summer fun!

I initially bough the vermillion UV protected face mask which came with a zippered pouch bag on June 16 and was very happy with it, I ordered the charcoal colour on July 17 for my wife when it was delivered it had no pouch bag though the price was the same, I am disappointed and decided to return it

I bought it because I like hiking and was annoyed at using so much sunscreen. It does the job. I use it with a 3d mask holder. It lets me breath better (I think). As expected it is a little annoying and better for cooler weather. Still, I think it's better than slathering your face every 2 hours with greasy sunscreen. Also, you always know you are protected (unlike sunscreen where you might have missed a spot or scratched/sweated off the sunscreen). It, obviously, also protects against blue light. I'm annoyed at the outrageous price (I'm convinced it did not cost more than $2 to make it), but would still buy it for the price so I gave it five stars.

Muy buena protección aunque muy voluminoso, bastante empalme

I bought this to cover my face from the sun (melasma) when I go cycling for hours till noon. Not sure abt it's Uv protective claim but I amvery pleased that it cools me down when I ride.
