Does it slide when pushed by baby?

No, it rolls. Just a bit wobbly with only one tire in front but really, my grandson got the hang of it pretty quick. I really like how sturdy it is.

Will it fit a travel bag when unassembled ?

This was a birthday gift for my granddaughter almost 2 years ago so I can't give you a definitive answer. I did not assemble it. Having said that, the body of the scooter is one piece so I guess you would need a good size travel bag.
