Great crate!
I have had an excellent crate for 15 years that finally broke down and I was looking for a replacement. So disappointed to learn that the company no longer exists and I could not get another for our new puppy. After much searching and review reading, I selected this one and have been very happy with its performance. Good quality construction, easy to set up and fold down. The carrying case with shoulder strap makes it really easy to carry up and down the stair and get into the car. So its super convenient. But best of all, the new puppy loves it. Our Sully sleeps through the night very peacefully in this crate. He looks very comfortable on the cushioned mat that is included. The crate is sturdy enough to contain our high energy puppy easily. Zippers are strong and have clips to anchor them so pokey little noses cannot force the zipper to open. I followed the size guide and he has plenty of room. This has been an excellent purchase and I highly recommend this crate. It is well made, worth the price, and I expect it to last a long time.

GREAT PURCHASE *****
I purchased this dog crate a couple of months ago and use it daily. The shipping was very quick and it arrived in good shape from being packed well in the cardboard shipping box. I will give a detailed description of the crate because there are not many times that one truly feels like they got a great bang for your buck on a purchase. My 6 year old 70# lab was crate trained since she was a puppy using a large wire crate. When she was puppy @ times we did shut her door when we had company over but basically the wire crate was her bed/den with the door left open after she was fully potty trained. Happily she did not make messes after being potty trained and never chewed on things to have to contain her all the time when we left the house. Shoes were kept high off floor then. With crate use she never seemed attracted to sleeping on the furniture either. Her crate was her safe and comfortable place to sleep in. I also put a sheet over the crate to make it more private for her. I purchased this soft-sided crate to possibly remove the wire crate and put @ a different house so she would have a 'home' away from home when I was gone. The soft-sided crate would be her main crate @ home affording more options of easily taking it down and transporting to another location. This was/is my goal. This crate will do all of that. It's too big to set up open in the back seat of my sedan (perhaps the size down would). If I had an SUV I know I would be able to comfortably travel with her long distance having it set up for use during travel. I did get the slightly bigger one to make sure it was roomy enough. The next size down was smaller than the wire crate and she would not have had as much room for a large size dog and as she ages and sprawls out. It fits well between the front and back seats to transport for destination use when it is folded flat and in the zippered tote. It does fit in the trunk of my full size car but does not leave room for too much else other than assorted smaller duffle bags and totes. Not a problem for traveling if it's just the 2 of us. My dog no longer chews on anything other than rawhides so I can't speak about how it would stand up to that type of abuse. Or if your dog took their nails and clawed on the screen doors and windows trying to get out. I don't have that problem. I can assure you that the construction of this crate is exceptional in quality and detailing and craftsmanship. Very easy to set-up. Didn't even need the cheat sheet. The crate features an attached and removable pouch with hand-strap for supplies on one end. If you used this for a day trip or camping a handy feature. Another non-removable zippered pouch is attached to the top of the crate for supplies also. The top of the crate is also the zippered ventilating mesh door with crossed X webbed strapping with a Velcro closure like a duffel bag. A nice handle to easily pick the crate up to move. One narrow end of the crate has a zippered mesh door and one of the long sides has a zippered mesh door that you can unzip, roll up and Velcro to keep the door open. 5 sides of this crate have the mesh for ventilation with 3 zippered openings. The top of the crate is also a zippered door for access. I can't see using this feature unless your dog is a light weight. I could see how this crate would be handy if you wanted a secure place for a new litter of puppies although over time the crate would probably be abused with their messes and friskiness. Probably would hold up to a power wash or back yard hose down to clean up rather easily and air dry. But a good quite spot for a birthing I imagine. I've never bred dogs but as a kid we had to give our dog a nice quite place to have her puppies. The floor of the crate is made of the same rubberized canvas material that the rest of the crate is constructed with. Very durable and probably water resistant. Obviously with the mesh top not waterproof unless a tarp was also used. I'm not a camper but I believe if I was, this crate would be exactly what I would want. If it was not mentioned in the other reviews the crate came with a very large zippered tote to store/transport the crate when it is folded flat with hand/shoulder straps. I was pleasantly surprised with this handy addition of the carrier tote. Also included was a small leash and a bottom cushion that is sheep skin like fabric with the underside rubberized. This pad is thin. I have put her very large and thick floor pillow in the crate for her daily use. It fits perfect and what dream bedroom she has. She loves this crate and adapted to it right away when I set it up for home use within hours. The dog has a tendency to nap in her wire crate during the day in a different room and this crate @ night and during the day when I am on the computer. I lightly draped a sheet on this one too to create her 'den'. I can leave the house and know she is in either crate napping and not on the furniture. The construction is superb for the way we use the crate but if you had a high energy, chewing and clawing dog with the doors zippered shut this crate probably would not hold up over time. I did a lot of research before I purchased this crate. I changed from purchasing another wire one to ultimately a more practical 2nd crate that is very high quality and affords more options for portability if we turn into campers or visit friends and family on a road trip. One of the best purchases that I have made. A long review but I wanted to point out the exception quality and extra features that this crate has and that I almost made a mistake buying another clumsy wire crate that would not have been as suitable for our needs. I will mention also that the color is great now that it seems to be permanent in the house and not just for travel. I'm happy it is nice basic beige with black trim instead of a bold color. If you plan to travel/camp with your dog and have enough room I would suggest this crate also for a smaller sized dog giving your pet plenty of room to move around in. If your pet chews or claws I don't think this crate would work out for long. If these are not your issues, the crate will be perfect and you will be very pleased like me with the purchase.

BUY IT! 8 years, and still going!
I love this crate! I purchased the 36" L x 24" W x 28" H size in December 2017, and still use it to this day (Sept 2025). It fits perfectly in my 2018 Subaru Forester. It is ridiculously durable. Easy to setup or take down for storage. I can't even begin to explain how much usage this thing has seen throughout the years with all our trips and moving. It's probably traveled through at least 15 states, if not more. It's my fur babies safe space when we travel. The fleece bed lasted maybe a year before it was replaced with a more cushioned dog bed. I've also since added a fan in it for better air flow, when the car is fully loaded, and a camera. It was first used by my 65lb yellow lab and is now used by my 95lb lab/pyrenees mix. It is spacious and both can stand up and change positions while on the road. They never were uncomfortable since there is enough room to move around in it easily. It's held up so well that even my friends and family have started to buy it and the quality is still the same. Great purchase!! You will not be disappointed!

Sturdy! Easily folds and perfect for small dog!
We purchased this crate because of the reviews and we were taking our 10 lb chihuahua on vaca with us. We could not be more happy with this soft dog crate! It was comfortable and very sturdy without being like a rickety and bulky metal one. The metal ones, as long as they are stationary, are fine long term. I would not want to put my dog in a soft crate all day long because (aside from being cruel) if a dog is active or is left too long, a soft crate would not be suitable. But this soft crate was the perfect size for our dog for 2-3 hours. Enough room for her pillow, her water & a pee pad folded in half. My dog rarely pees in her crate (We take her out a lot and run her around to dispel anxious energy) but in the event that she did have to pee, I wanted her to feel like she had a corner. Also, the multiple openings were convenient and easy to zip up and fold back with Velcro holders. Added pluses were: storage and carry case and roomy pockets for storing treats and toys. Folds up very nicely but still is plenty sturdy! A++ I would not recommend (for ANY soft crate), a hyper, over-active or larger dog with a penchant for chewing. The nice thing about this crate is the double zippered front closure and both zippers that go 3/4 around respectively. If u zipper both zippers in the upper position, a paw or nose will not be able to separate the zippers easily, allowing them to escape. As an example, my dog got a treat stuck in the cushion near the opening. By pushing her nose around, she was able to push her nose thru the zippers and open the front. Easily resolved by putting both zippers up top to the side and putting a twist tie thru the zippers holes tying them together. Obviously soft crates are not for chewers. A++ I would not recommend (for ANY soft crate), a hyper, over-active or larger dog with a penchant for chewing. The nice thing about this is that sometimes if a pebble of food or dog treat gets stuck in a corner my dog will try to dig it out and if you don’t have the zippers in the correct position they could accidentally open the zipper with their paw. Easily enough resolved because the zippers start on one end and they go 3/4 of the way around the front opening, which made it easy to avoid that. Obviously soft crates are not for chores or obsessive dogs. This was for my Chihuahua and she is neither a chewer, nor is she large. Her initial whining was quelled and she settled quickly.. I left the TV on in hotel room to block out hallway noise and comfort her. When we return from doing a tourist attraction, she was excited to see us, but after her initial greeting, she felt comfortable enough to go back in to chill out while we got ready for bed. Since she sleeps with us at night, so trusts we always come back. So even when we do leave her for a few hours, this is the best crate for her to be! or obsessive dogs. Dogsitter says pretty great crate, but could be better.
As a pet sitter, I've seen just about every type of crate there is, hard and soft. One of my clients has a soft crate I especially loved, but it doesn't appear to be available anymore, so I went on the hunt for a similar one for my younger 12 month, 65 lb dog who can't be trusted in hotels. The major pro of this crate is that it is extremely easy to put together. With some soft crates, you have to crawl inside to push up the interior supports, but due to the top opening, I can put this together by leaning over it, even with the XL size. The construction seems fairly sturdy, with thick canvas sides. The mesh even seems somewhat durable. My 65 lb dog scratch at the doors the first few days and while there is some noticeable fraying to the door itself, he didn't manage to make a hole. The upgraded version has a spot to put a gerbil-style water bottle, which i thought was neat. This crate is a huge upgrade over having to load, unload, and move around a standard metal crate when traveling. My dog also loves the bed. My older dog will hang out in this when we're home/at the hotel with the dogs. However, there is room for improvement. The doors and curtains are held up when not in use by elastic bands loosely sewn into the door, and a bit of the canvas. My dog immediately saw these as chew toys and pulled them out over the course of a month, creating a small hole in the tops of the doors where the stitching is ripped. Now I can no longer tie up the curtains for normal use, or the doors. Other soft crates I've seen use velcro to accomplish this, and I think that seems like a better idea. I will likely add velcro myself. Second, the back storage pouch on the upgraded version is an envelope design held closed by a small piece of velcro. If you put anything that isn't flat in the pouch, it will not be able to close. I speak from experience as i had to pick up my dog's bone and chew toy from the hotel steps. Even when I put less in the pouch, things still fell out because the top does not close all the way across. It seems like this pouch is really only useful when the crate is set up, and not to be used for holding things on the move. Overall, I would recommend this crate, but for the price, I would have liked to see a slightly better design as discussed above. Of course, this crate is meant for dogs who are well kennel trained, not puppies or dogs still working on potty training (since Amazon asked), hard wire crates are better suited for training.

Excellent Portable Crate for Non-Destructive Small/Medium Dog or Large Cat
I already have a wire crate at home that I use as a regular dog crate, but I didn't want to fuss with taking it down and setting it back up when I travel to places with my dog, since I use it as an end table as well. So I bought this to be a spacious hang-out crate for my 11-pound pomeranian mix when we go to K9 Nosework class (though he typically rides to/from while harnessed in a dog carseat). And at some point, I'd like to get a miniature poodle and have this be that dog's travel crate. That's why I got this size--so it would fit that size dog and not flatten/damage its topknot. (I'm a groomer and go to dog shows, so that's important to me). And I've gotten to use it as such, transporting my friend's mini poodle(s). For what I use it for now, it's plenty spacious for my pom mix to spread out and have a large, non-tipping water dish, a food dish, and a toy. It's lighter than a wire crate of the same size, and will not scratch your walls/doors/car paint if you are moving it around. The canvas is durable and resistant enough that it's fine to set on the ground outside (provided it's not really wet or muddy). I love all the different entry points; that makes this crate very versatile so you can put it almost anywhere and still access your pet. When I was transporting my friend's two (almost fully-grown) mini poodle puppies, the top-loading door was so helpful in keeping them from running out during loading/unloading. That feature would also be great if you're planning on using this to transport a large cat, as it's easier to set a cat into a large hole than to try to cram them sideways into a smaller entry. And the doors are all big enough you could get a small litter pan in and out. It is cumbersome to carry this crate, fully-assembled, with an animal in it, for more than a dozen or so feet, so either get a crate dolly (like the kind dog show people use), or look for something smaller (like a large, top-loading, plastic carrier, or a pet stroller) if you want something to manually tote your animal around in. Unless you're the Hulk; then do whatever you want. ;) I've also used this as a car travel crate for my pomeranian mix, and for my friend's mini poodles (up to two at a time, but it was a little cramped with two full-grown mini poos in there). I put it in the back seat with a seatbelt or two through the top handles. It is not super well-anchored that way, but it doesn't move around much; just rocks a bit. It's a bit large for a transport crate for my pom--I'd be worried about him rolling around back there with sudden stops. (I prefer him to be harnessed in his car seat). But it was a good size for transporting the mini poodle(s). I like that the sides are soft, yet sturdy, so the dog isn't ever slamming against hard surfaces. I don't know how it would fare in a real wreck (if a dog could fly through a windshield, it'll probably fly through this), but at least for maneuvering in normal traffic, it's great. Much safer than having a dog loose in the car, that's for certain. It has good ventilation with the mesh on 5 out of 6 sides, so the AC can get to the pet. A determined dog could probably tear the mesh apart, but the nervous mini poodle I transported didn't damage it at all when he was clawing at the mesh for the first 10 or so minutes until he calmed down. It's very easy to assemble and disassemble. You just pop both pairs of upper support beams together or apart (which I can almost do one-handed), and it folds easily as long as you make sure the beams are not in the way when they dangle down. It folds about as flat as a wire crate of the same size, but I think it's easier and less of a production than folding a wire crate. Wire crates usually have to swing far one way, then the other, then another--so you need a big floor/table space to set them up or take them down. This folds in on itself, so you can open and close it right in your car without taking it out. It comes with a matching canvas carry bag to fit it in, but I often don't use that. You can't fit much of anything else in the bag at the same time; it's just for the crate and maybe a few flat or small objects that can be squirreled away in the nooks and crannies of the folded crate. And this crate is easy enough to carry without it. It has storage compartments on the top and side, but I've never used those. Would be a good place to store low-profile things like your pet's vaccination records, waste bags, and a small bag of food or treats. It has a thin, fleece pad lining the bottom. Easy to remove to wash. Stays put okay, but not great. If you have a digger, they'll probably rearrange it at some point. It's not cushiony; but pro-tip: a standard size pillow fits in the bottom of this crate almost perfectly. ;) On top of everything, it looks nice and is affordable. My sister oohed and ahhed when she saw it and said it looked "fancy."

Great Quality, Lightweight, Easy Set Up for the Crate-Trained Dog
This crate is awesome. I wanted a portable crate so that I could bring my Goldendoodle to work. She has a wire crate at home and has been trained to sleep in it at night and for short periods during the day when we are not home. But even the smaller-sized wire crate (we have a 30" for our 10 pound puppy) is a beast to move. It is heavy and awkward - even to fold it is not that easy. There was no way I was going to buy another one to haul to work. This crate works perfectly. First, it is relatively light and easy to carry - even the 42" one that I bought so that our puppy could use it as a full-sized adult. Second, set up was a breeze. I admit to being one of those that hates instructions and tries to set things up without reading them if at all possible. The set up was lightning fast and easy. I did double check the instructions after I was done to make sure that I did it right (lol) and I probably will look at them when I take it back down. Third, the design is very functional. I like the two doors - one on the long side and one on the short side. The Velcro fasteners that hold up the mesh panels when they are open are smart and easy to use. Even when the crate is fully assembled it can be moved very easily. The quality seems great. Having said that I would not use this to crate train any dog or leave a dog that wasn't crate trained in here without constant supervision. Oh heck, I will go as far as to say if you are going to crate train your dog do not use this - use this after they are wire crate trained. Beg, borrow, or steal a wire crate to train them so that you don't set them up for failure with this one. Any motivated dog, including a small puppy could easily destroy this if they are not trained to stay in a crate. When our puppy started in the wire crate she would often gnaw on the corners. But once trained this is super. I love that she can have extra room but I would never have been able to manage any wore crate this size. Way too big. Plus this is portable in a snap. I can see us taking it wherever we travel. great purchase!

Excellent crate
Purchased this with the intention of crating my anxious dog for a 13 hour road trip. It is so spacious, sturdy, easy set up, and made our trip so comfortable for our girl. For reference, she is a 50 pound staffy and she had plenty of room to stand/ sit/ lay comfortably. This was a perfect investment.

Excellent crate
I’ve ordered this crate twice, the first one in January which never arrived and I received a full refund. I was searching for an alternative crate in the UK for my miniature poodle but because she’s quite tall but although not massive I struggled to find one so eventually I ordered this one again. This time it arrived very quickly (dispatched on Friday evening from the US, arrived on Monday morning to me in the UK!), the crate is an excellent quality, seems very sturdy and stylish as well. 24inch first nicely on the back seat of my car. Very pleased with my purchase!

Not for a Lab
Nice product and well made but surprisingly small. We bought the large size but it will be a tight fit for a fully grown Labrador so sent back.
