Birkenstock Professional Birki Clog

I work as a bartender- and it gets super wet behind the bar. When I got this job I really did not want to buy new shoes. However, I had no idea how wet it got behind there. Sinks running that drain into the floor, and dishwasher for cups that also drains into the floor. Needless to say I was coming home every night with my feet SOAKING wet. So I had to get some waterproof shoes. I was excited to see Birkenstock had some! So I got these. They DO run big. I generally wear an 8. I was going to ignore the reviews that said they run big, but the 7 was on sale so I took a chance, and they fit with wiggle room too. DEFINITELY ORDER A SIZE DOWN. I do not slip in these, not in water, not in grease from the kitchen, nothing! These are amazing. Not the best arch support that birks are known for but super comfy and always look clean and are very easy to clean as well. The best!

I've worn Birkenstocks for years and I've been working in professional kitchens for over a decade. I kick myself (with my Birkis) for not switching to these way sooner than a couple years ago. I've owned New Balance nonslip professional shoes that fell to pieces in under a year (for $40 more no less). I've tried Klogs, which stank to high heaven and rubbed my heel raw. I've tried Danskos, which are ugly as sin and have an obnoxiously thick sole. These are perfect in almost every way. They have the trademark Birkenstock footbed with great support, are super easy to clean (I hose them off every night when we clean the floors), they never stink, and they are waaaaaaaaay more durable than any other brand. I'd average 9-12 months in most brands before they were unusable. These last 3+ years easy, and there are replacement insoles available, too. They're pretty roomy, which helps them breathe. Sometimes stuff gets kicked up into them, but whatever. The tread is pretty deep too, which can get filled with the detritus of a commercial kitchen floor (depending on how messy your coworkers are), and that can affect the nonslip of the sole, but all in all these are amazing shoes, and at least half the chefs and cooks I've worked with wear them exclusively. Highly recommended.

I usually wear a size women’s 9 and had to return the first pair I ordered to exchange for an 8. The 8 fit perfectly so they do run large. I own a coffeehouse and am in my feet a LOT. My knees are terrible and I will be doing knee replacements at some point post pandemic. The pain is unbearable and even though I am exhausted after closing the shop I couldn’t rest because I could never get comfortable enough to stay asleep. The first night after wearing these shoes I had NO PAIN and I am now on my 5th consecutive day with no pain. They have been a godsend for me. On top of that they are comfortable, don’t slip and are waterproof (and coffee proof!). Any barista can tell you, your shoes is where EVERY spilled coffee, milk and flavor syrup ends up! No more ruined shoes!! I will wear these until they fall apart and will immediately replace them with the same at that time.

Everyone here seems to love their Birkenstock Professional work clogs, I however have had a surprisingly uncomfortable experience. I had to order the shoes a total of 4 times to find out they just don't have a size that fits me. The first size was too huge, and the size below it did as well, and so did the size after that. There was a good inch of toe space. I understand there is supposed to be a little looseness with clogs because that's what I usually wear for work, but it was quite a bit too big on the 3rd pair of shoes I got (the first of the 4 pairs was said to be my size on their sizing chart (I measured my foot in mm with a shoe gauging tool) So I order the next size under because that's the only option left and, to my expectations, the pair is too small. I tried breaking them in so far for a few weeks (8+ hours a day) and I still have a lot of pain from the shoe pushing my toenails back, as well as scabbing on each outer side of my feet from all of the rubbing. It does seem to have broken in a little and gotten smaller but still too small and quite painful. (keep in mind the size above this size leaves almost an inch and a half of space behind my heel when I push my toes to the end) My next day off I will be returning the shoes via Amazon UPS returns or at Khol's because I could use that $100 I spent. Keep in mind also, this is coming from someone who's had Birkenstock sandals and like the brand. If you do expect a size to fit you and want to try, I started at size 45 which I thought was the same size as the size 12 I wear in Nike. I was dead wrong so I then used a foot size gauge to be sure of my length in mm, but still ended up trying 3 more shoes.

These shoes are so comfortable and have some arch support inside. They have more support than regular clogs. There great to wear after a long day of being on your feet. Doesn’t fit tight on your feet

These are probably very good clogs for the kitchen. The seem to hold their grip very well. They are hard at first but still form to your foot well. I'm guessing theirs a break in period where these would become very comfortable. The bad review is because they run large. I am returning these because they are loose. My heel pops out of the clog when walking normal. Imagine walking fast. I fear they will eat up my socks very fast. I wear expensive socks, so that's not happening. I am sure if I return these for 1 size smaller US, they probably would be fine. But Amazon doesn't have that size available yet. So, even though I cannot speak to how these break in, first imperfections are they probably would break in nicely. Might take more than a week at +40hrs, but IDK. If you get a size smaller, I think you'll be happy with this purchase. Mayne I'll try these again when they get that size in stock. But for me, at this price, they should run true to size as designed by the factory. They run too large.

My go to chef clogs. I spend 12+ on my feet in these daily and these are the clogs I like. Can take some getting used to and there is a break-in period but after they are broken in they are very comfortable to me. If you desire soft soles these are not for you! They have some shock absorption because of the insole but outside of that they are pretty hard on the bottom. I have had to replace them after 4-5 years of use because the bottoms wear thin but I would choose these over most clogs on the market today.

I am a cook and work long hours. I havebwide feet and high arches- these feel like a dream. Super supoortive. This is my second pair. The first I left behind in the last city I worked in. I had those for three years and after that amount of time working 50 hours or more a week, the tread which showed the most wear hadn't even been worn down flat. Still had great grip. The insoles are removable, so I can run the rest of the shoe through the dish machine at the end of the shift, so they're very sanitary. They're super tough. However if you're looking for something soft and squishy this isn't the shoe for you. Also if you walk long stretches at a time they can get uncomfortable. But for long stretches of standing and walking around the kitchen they're perfect. I don't wear them outside of the kitchen anyway. The insoles mold to fit your feet like normal birks as well. So happy to have another pair again. Like I said they're not cushioney, but somehow they're more comfortable for me than squishy shoes. Also the wider gap between treads maintains non-slip function even with food debris buildup. The kitchen shoes with narrow gaps between treads will get slippery if food crud gets caked inside. For me they also do not need 'breaking in'.

I'm normally a women's 6.5, so I got a 5.5 after reading reviews that they fit big, and they're perfect! Super comfy, great support, and I haven't tried it but I've heard from those who have them that you can put them in the dishwasher after removing the soles. I'm only marking them as fitting big so that people know to order a size smaller.

Great shoes for in the kitchen. They wear well for years. They fit a bit big but I’m still in love with these shoes. Trust me they are great. I bought a pare about four years ago and they had everyday use for four years. Lots of travelling on my feet in them. And I finally bought about her pair. Not because the four year old ones were worn out. But because I wanted new ones for the kitchen and I had scuffed the older ones up. Yes the best shoe if have ever purchased
