Great drawing set !
WOW This pen set is amazing for drawing. If I would have found this earlier it would have saved me from buying several other pens. The Omni flex is great for the way I draw fur. The fine and medium are great for sketching. All of the nibs are super smooooth. Quality is excellent, but Monteverde was my first pen when I started down this road.

Good value, but not a flex nib
First, I am pleasantly surprised by this pen. Reading and watching reviews, I did not expect much. However, it is actually not a bad little pen...at least the one I have seems to be made well. The barrel of the pen is watertight, and I have turned this into an eyedropper pen. It already has an o-ring where the barrel screws onto the section, and I added a little silicone grease to the threads just to make sure. Filled the barrel with Waterman Serenity Blue and it works wonderfully! It comes with three sections/nibs: one fine, one medium, and one "omniflex." Each unit also includes a converter. There is a one barrel and one cap, but you can switch out the nibs/sections easily. Second, the negative: I got it for the "omniflex" nib, but there is no flex. It behaves like a standard steel nib, somewhere between fine and medium. I can squeeze a hint of line variation out of it, but it's no different than any other steel nib in that respect. I am disappointed in the lack of flex. On the good side, the nib is pretty smooth, and the feed keeps up well. It is on the smaller side, but with the cap posted it is comfortable to write with. Overall, I think this is a good value for the money.

Zero flex
The flex nib is terrible. There is no flex. I should have paid attention to the other review that says this. If you're buying for a flex nib, look elsewhere. It tears the paper and doesn't flex at all. The medium is closer to a fine and requires more pressure than I would like, but it will write once lubed up with ink and with more pressure than a better nib. Nothing wrong with the rest for a cheap pen. But do know that this is just a Jinhao 992 with extra nibs and in a little plastic box.

The Not-So-Flexible OmniFlex Nib
Flex nib is not at all flexible.

omni Flex
The FLEX NIB doesn't flex without a lot of pressure on it. It is a nice pen and I like it but doesn't flex as much as I had hoped.

Looks just like a Sailor Compass but comes with more kit
This is a decent pen for the money. I bought it for the omniflex nib. The fine and medium nibs are bonus nibs that I'll probably never use, as I have same or similar nibs on other pens. It does look pretty much identical to my Sailor Compass, however - the cap ring and clip are different, but the pen body is pretty much the same. This kit is a better value if you can only buy one or two pens over the course of a year. It does come with three converters and two ink cartridges, but there's also an o-ring pre-installed so you can eyedropper this baby right out of the box.

Disappointed
[UPDATE] The problem with leaking was due to defective cartridges. I used other cheap cartridges and the converters, and they work fine. The pen is based on the Jinhao 992, but has many upgrades: The F and M nibs are iridium tipped, made in Germany, and write very smoothly. The F writes like EF, and the M like F. The converters are better quality, with the tiny ball inside. The engraving on the band is more attractive. The deep red color seems to be unique to Monteverde. Comes in a nice storage box. So, overall, a good value. I'm using it a lot lately. Just buy some Long Standard International ink cartridges (2.6mm bore), or a bottle of ink. ------ I tried the flex nib first. Didn't flex well, but wrote ok. But today when I tried it the ink started siphoning out of it. I was using one of the provided ink cartridges, which fits loosely. When I received it I noticed it looks identical to the $3.00 Jinhao 992. On Reddit somebody says it IS a Jinaho 992, modified for Monteverde. Anyway, for $3.00 I would go with the Jinaho 992. It doesn't leak, the nib is smoother, and the cap posts better. I will try the provided "M" and "F" nib/section units to see if they do any better. (by the way, I've named the pen "Squirtle.")

Simple, efficient and elegant
A great pen, good value for it's price. The omniflex nib is one of my favorites for day to day activities.
