Motion capture is a very strong subject at the company I work for. I had a general understanding of the technology, but I still felt that I was missing a certain level of understanding. I researched the subject on the Internet and couldn't find the results I was looking for, it seems that good information on motion capture is very limited. I picked up a copy of this book and I was very surprised. It is an easy read, I did not have to review the material several times to understand. The last 2 chapters were too technical for my understanding, but the knowledge I gained from the rest of the book is priceless. It's great to see the development of the industry, and all the diffrent technologies that exsist for motion capture. This industry will be exploding very soon so I suggest you pick this one up. Take notes as you read! I found myself referring back to the book on several occasions. Review: Not a good book as a learning manual. - I wish there had been a look inside view of the book. I expected there to be illustrations and photos, instead it was just words and more words. I don't usually send things back, so I'll be donating it to a local store. My fault , a rare disappointment!

Serves its purpose!

Nice Motion Capture Textbook
Firstly, I have to say, I liked the graphics in the textbook. The other reviewer didn't but I found them to be pretty helpful -- they're cartoon-like and look like they're from the 70s. My only grief was the size of the book for the cost mentioned. The primer takes up a good chunk of that along with some data tables, etc. Nothing horrid just think when I'd pay this much for a book I'd expect it to be wider.
