Varsity Disposable Fountain Pens, Black Ink (90010), Pack of 6

These are great little fountain pens. Like all good ones they flow over the page, which makes them fun to write with. Best, the cap fits so tightly they (1) don’t leak in your pocket, and (2) they don’t dry out - really. I lost one behind my desk for two years ago. When I tried it, it wrote like new. I bought 1/2 a dozen immediately, because they are fun, reliable and inexpensive as ball points. And folks don't steal them because they don’t understand what they are :).

I really like the ink flow on this pen. The ink may need a few seconds to dry but solid lines and good paper feel. Great for sketching or writing ive enjoyed them. So if you've been curious to try one this is a good start.

My artistic guy has decided to temporarily put aside his photography obsession to return to his drawing roots. Easy to use, pre filled, great for first time fountain pen users. The writing experience is different & enjoyable enough from a ball point or gel ink pen to give newer users an inexpensive introduction to the world of fountain pens. I also feel it is of medium enough quality, that you can have a similar experience improvement when upgrading to a refillable type pen.

When I say this is the best pen I ever owned I'm not exaggerating. Its got great deep-black ink and it NEVER clogs. I've been using these pens for years and I never had one that clogged. They are light weight. I can carry them easily in my shirt pocket (and knock on wood, it never leaked so far). Best of all, you can use the nib in two different ways. In its normal position, it creates a smooth line, probably like 0.1" thick. But when you turn the nib upside down, you can draw again a very smooth but much thinner line (0.05 ?). This double-purpose usage comes in very handy in all kinds of sketching assignments. I bought three regular fountain pens with bent nibs for that effect, and all of them got clogged after a few use, no matter how many times I washed and cleaned them. I had to throw all of them away and go back to my trusty Pilot Varsity disposable pen. They last a long while, depending on the use. And when the ink is gone, I throw the whole thing away and just reach for my next Pilot Varsity pen (they are very cheap). Recommended for all urban and portrait sketchers.

A nice pen for people who like a fountain pen but hate the hassle of dealing with refilling the ink. Good value and easy to use.

Horrible purchase! As they were such great quality and well crafted that they’ve all but one been stollen from me. Pilot G2 will work fine but this makes you feel like you’re using quil and ink, as the forefathers intended.
