Is this good for repairs on alloys

I would say yes, the description on bottle, says it suitable for all tyres, from car, caravan to bike. I use mine for mobile scooter, which all tyres are alloy's and tubeless. Does not do any damage or corrosion. Hope this helps.

How much do you need to put in a motorbike tyre?

The average amount of Goop required for a motorcycle tyre is 250ml, some larger rear tyres will require 300ml

Will it seal tyres that go down over a few months with cracks in them

Any tyre that has cracks in the sidewall is very dangerous, and should be replaced immediately, before potentially experiencing a blow-out whilst driving, which could have disastrous results.

Do we have to have the wheels balanced after using the goop

Any vehicle wheel needs to be balanced prior to installing any brand of puncture tyre sealant, because most wheel balancing machines are not capable of spinning fast enough for even distribution of the sealant once installed..
