My New Best Friend
This little unit is perfect for dry, hot locations! I live in Phoenix, AZ where we have already been having temps near 100° in mid April. The air in our home is so dry that we get shocked by everything we touch. This mini cooler adds just enough moisture to the air to relieve some of the static electricity while making the air in my immediate zone much more bearable. It isn't powerful enough to cool a whole room here, but it certainly works well in about a 3 foot wide path. I especially enjoy sleeping with it next to my bed. I bought a second filter the day after I purchased the cooler, so I can always have one in the freezer and ready to go when the first one gets dry and warm. My only complaints are that it is a bit noisy, and the plug gets very hot when it is running on full speed. When I am sleeping, I run it on low speed and then turn it off after a few hours.

LOUD expensive cool not cold air.
First it took about 3 hours for the filter to freeze with out it frozen there will be no cool air. And the filter thaws out quickly about a hour and after that you just have cool not cold air. And the longer it runs the warmer the air gets ...because the filter no longer is frozen with water. So basically turns into a fan. It is very very loud on the high and medium setting and on low it not much better because you know what both the fan AND the motor running. Would i recommend this ? Not for the intended purpose. The size is nice and the esthetics is also nice it looks like a mini AC ...but does not in any way act like one of feels even like one. You get cool air not cold no matter how long you freeze the filter or put ice cubes in the chamber on top. Great concept in theory but needs improvement on cold temp longevity to justify the price. $10-$15 sure ( for a what will end up being a loud fan). But any more coins then that you'll will I'm sorry to say regret the purchase.

Great For Cooling Personal Space in the Summer - Update
Best purchase I've made this summer. Keeps my personal space cool when sitting at desk. I sit in part of house that gets hot in summer and puts a chill in my space and keeps me cool. Works great for "hot flashes" as well! I keep the filter clean by immersing in vinegar/water solution every 3 or 4 days and rinse. I bought another filter so I had ability to always have a filter available when cleaning and freezing the other. One of the drawbacks is the design of the vents. They are hard to put back in if one pops out while cleaning, especially if more than one pops out. They pop out individually. I managed to get them back in but it was a struggle. I would like to see a more stable, one-piece design that can be popped out and cleaned, the vents remaining where they should stay. The individual vents are a hassle to clean and put back in, one by one. Update: I still like this unit, however, improvements need to be made to address issue of cleaning fan blades and inside of the unit itself. I personally use filtered water. Using distilled water on a regular basis, personally, is not doable. Having easy access to clean inside of unit, i. e., fan blades, is crucial, thus I am lowering my 5 star to a 3. I did put a small stream of water, as careful as I could get, to hit fan blades to clean them off in the sink. There is a wire attached to blade so I let dry over night and it is working for now. I am sure consumers would be willing to pay a little more if they could easily disassemble parts to clean and pop back in. Also need to mention the A/C Adaptor that came with this unit. The head gets warm, even if plugged in directly to wall. I do not recommend plugging it into a power strip. I was going to rate a 3 but remembered this problem, thus reduced down to a 2.

bad reviews prevented me from getting this 2 years ago
I'm with the other reviewer that said bad reviews need to stop. I was in bad shape 2 years ago living with family that didn't like to run the AC and we live in AZ plus I'm in that age of hormone imbalance. I was so excited to see this and then read the reviews and continued suffering. Fast forward to 2020 and my AC went out. I have a mini dauchsund and it is really hard on her. I immediately said I don't want to be in this spot ever again I have to buy something. Again I am back looking at these reviews but this time focused on the good ones and thought I will return if I don't like it. To be clear my AC was fixed the next day but I decided to run it a little less cold so that it don't freeze up on me or go out again. I have it at 78 and my room has a lot of windows so it's either hot or cold and 78 is sometimes warm to me especially at night. Well around 3 pm I froze my filter and added ice and water to it. I wouldn't call it freezing but definitely a very cool breeze. I did seem to melt fairly quickly and then it wasn't as cold but in a while I still ended up turning it down from high to low as it was making my throat feel weird. For the night, I filled it up one more time with a ton of ice and water to the brim and ran it on high. I began to get cold and turned it down to low. When the Ice melts it does change to what I consider a swamp cooler feel. I can feel the moistness. I ended up turning it off for the night as I was too cold. Sometime in the night I was getting warmer and turned it back on low and ran until morning where I turned it off again. There is no ice and slight amount of water left but I'm very pleased with the help of my arctic air. I doubt this would function as an AC but if I'm ever without air I feel this would be a great help until it's back on again. I love it!

DAY 1 REVIEW: Pretty good!
This is a DAY ONE review, based entirely on first-impression and how great (or not great) this product has been in the past 12-hours! Got this thing FINALLY after waiting several days past normal. Who ever thought ordering one of these things during the middle of summer would have made me a victim of supply and demand? ANYWAYS, can't knock a star for waiting for stock! But I was excited to finally open my Arctic Air Portable AC and give it a whirl. First impressions: this thing is SMALL. It's a cute kind of small though! Very ergonomic, very "future"-looking with the white and the grey and black. VERY simple to use! One button turns it on and cycles the speed, the other cycles through the LED/night light and eventually just turns it off. The front grate has a little slide that let's you re-direct up and down, and also let's you pull out to reveal a tray where the "filter" is. The filter isn't so much as for the air as to actually provide the "AC" for you. You ABSOLUTELY NEED to wet and freeze this thing, AS PER THE INSTRUCTIONS (which are super simple, comes tacked to the side of this thing, and in a small little packet). I let mine freeze over as much as freezing gets before loading it up. At the top is a small lip that opens up and let's you fill with water. I used bottled water (I buy loads and loads of it), and one 16 oz. bottle nearly fills the reservoir to the "max" tab. On high, this thing SUCKS UP water! It's also fairly loud and in an irritating kind of way; the noise is almost industrial. Medium sounds much more like a fan, with low very nice and quiet. Medium-setting blows nicely, low is negligible. Now, does it feel like an AC? Meh, not sure about THAT... But is it comfortable? YES IT IS!! With a completely frozen filter and cold, bottled water, the cool air that blows out is VERY, VERY COOL. Set on my desk next to my monitor and pointed at me like I would a normal desk fan, I feel extremely comfortable in my basement office (a converted room that is not connected to the house AC). Under these circumstances (frozen filter, cold water), the Arctic Air Portable AC is pretty great! No leaks, no muss, no fuss. Works as advertised! Simple to use! I wouldn't use it in place of an AC or any appreciable room fan, but for personal comfort? Maybe taking it camping and you have a power source with you? Absolutely!

Weak
I am very dissapointed in this purchase. The item is made out of a low quality plastic half of the front vents were detached from the device when it arrived which i had to put back in hoping i wasn't going to snap them in half and every time i attached one another would come loose. But it would've been a simple enough thing to forgive if the item actually worked. Its basically an overpriced desk fan with a water drip gimmick that blows barely cool air and can't even be felt more than 6 inches away. I didn't expect the item to fill my room completely with cool air but i was at least hoping for something that I don't have to keep within constant arm's reach.

We like this Product and it does work but is limited
My Wife and I love this little device that helps cool the small living room on hot days and the house central airconditioner is struggling to keep up. This is the perfect addition to rooms that the central a/c does not cool well enough. It is inexpensive, very inexpensive to run. We wet the filter and freeze it for about 45 mins to an hour or overnight. We put the filter back in its easy pull out tray, no tools needed to remove filter. Removes in a second. After putting filter in, we put one bottle full of water, standard plastic 16 Oz water bottle using Tap water. Turn it on, not noise and has a nightlight. We notice the difference in the room pretty quickly. It is 15 feet away putting out Cold moist Air. It seems to last for 6 to 8 hours as you can still feel cold air coming out. I have a thermal temperature Gun so I have tested it. It does drop the room temperature down slightly but enough to make it much more comfortable. My wife has issues sleeping without it running when she sleeps. So value for money is a yes but it is limited as I have explained It will not work in a large room as well if at all decently. My living room is about 22 foot by 14 feet. I will be getting extra filters and two more of these devices including one for the master bathroom.

Terrible support! Loud, but good cooling; Super Cheap Plastic, Broke Upon arrival
Newset update - the were suppose to send me a new one since they sent me a broken one. It was on it's way and then they cancelled it, leaving me with the broken one. Do not but from this seller in case you get a broken one. They will leave you hanging. This thing has good cooling power when you are close by. It was almost exactly what I was looking for. I wasn't expecting a high powered cooling device, which this is not. It does more than a fan but less than a window unit. There is only one problem. The thing is super loud. On the lowest setting, it can be heard all the way across my side of the office floor. If they could lower the sound output, this thing would be golden. Even if you are at home, the problem is you have to be close to it, so it'll still be loud. I put it at three stars as amazon is switching this out for me due to the broken piece. I debating between 3 and 4 stars depending on the noise. Hopefully, I'll be able to update this thing soon. It does alright for a cooler up close, but I haven't been able to test it a ton yet. Usually I wait to test a product more to write a review, but a plastic piece in the front just fell out and I saw the smallest nub where it's suppose to connect. Super cheap plastic. I'm going to plan on keeping this if they send me a new one as I expect there shouldn't be two defected products in a row.

this product is NOT as advertised and is significantly misrepresented
The product has extremely low performance. It is highly misrepresented. It is no more than a cheap concentrated fan that, in order to achieve any level of cooling you have to freeze the filter, place ice water in the reservoir and even at that, after the ice and filter reaches room temperature there is nothing left other than a small fan blowing ambient air. This product does not and cannot achieve a satisfactory degree of performance. It cannot over power the ambient temperature thus a person remains heated and disappointed. Seemingly, a get rich quick product where the manufacturer is banking on no one to take legal action

Enfria poco
No puede considerarse un sustituto eficiente del aire acondicionado ya que, sencillamente, no juega en esa liga. Para que nos entendamos: es un simple ventilador que enfriar enfria bien poco.
