“ The Last Letter is a haunting, heartbreaking and ultimately inspirational love story.“― InTouch Weekly Beckett, If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have. I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride. My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. It’s not fair. And here’s the kicker: there’s something else you don’t know that’s tearing her family apart. She’s going to need help. So if I’m gone, that means I can’t be there for Ella. I can’t help them through this. But you can. So I’m begging you, as my best friend, go take care of my sister, my family. Please don’t make her go through it alone. His devotion to her after her brother’s death is especially moving, as he becomes fiercely protective of her and her children, determined to care for and support them through their grief. The twins also bring so much warmth to the story. Their love for their mother and for each other adds an emotional depth that makes the family dynamic feel authentic and heartfelt. The relationships throughout the novel are beautifully written, capturing both the pain of loss and the comfort of love and loyalty. The writing itself is touching and engaging, with moments that make you smile just as easily as they pull at your heart. The storyline is captivating from beginning to end, constantly drawing you in and leaving you eager to keep reading to discover what happens next. Overall, this is a beautifully written and emotionally rich story that will resonate with readers who enjoy heartfelt romance and family-centered narratives.

So raw and heartbreaking
Even when I tried to prepare myself for the worst some how it was still heartbreaking and I was completely unprepared for the ending. The emotional impact is like a gut punch. The story is very well written, the pacing is perfect, I love all the characters. I cried for literal hours. So good. Wow

Very Emotional
My friend sent this book to me. It came up on her Book Tok feed and she became intrigued because in the reviews people were boo hoo crying. I’m thinking to myself, no way! No way am I going to boo hoo cry reading this book but boo hoo cry I did. The story felt soooooo real. There were a few parts that irked my nerves but for the most part, I really enjoyed reading this book. If you want to know exactly why I was crying, you’ll have to go ahead and read this book. Happy reading; don’t forget to grab some tissue.

Lots of Tissues Needed
The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros is a standalone contemporary military romance. It follows the story of Beckett, who was in Special Ops for the Army, and Ella, who runs a B&B and has twins. These two get to know each other when Ella's brother and Beckett's best friend, Ryan, sets them up to be penpals. I don't want to spoil anything. That being said, this book devastated me. It broke my heart multiple times. I read this book in a day and a half because I was hooked and needed to know the ending. This is a captivating story of sacrifice, vulnerability, strength, healing, and love. Make sure you have lots of tissues when you embark on this journey.

I am officially ruined for all other books after reading this one
I have never posted a review of any book that I’ve read but this one deserves it and more. It is beautiful, devastating, and an uplifting reading experience about love, life, and the deep, meaningful bond of friendship. I highly recommend this book. It is brilliantly written and deeply moving. I’m off to read another Rebecca Yarros book!,

Grab the Tissues
When I book can make you cry, smile, laugh, and bawl your eyes out but leave on a happier but not completely then it has to be an amazing book. First this is the first contemporary I have read from Rebecca and I have to say I was not ready. No amount of what I’ve heard or been told would get me ready for this emotional ride. I did not se that ending coming at all. I’ll prob be in an emotional book hangover for a couple days. Amazing story and characters. The audiobook really brought it to life and prob made the emotion worse. Teddy Hamilton and Jennifer Sparks were fantastic. I would prob recommend looking this book up before just diving in. Overall amazing!

An emotional, engaging must read
I went into this book totally blind, it was one I had agreed to buddy read with some people, the author has been on my radar for a couple of years now...I don't live under a rock! But I just hadn't picked any of her books up yet. I was immediately caught up in this book, I loved the letter exchanges with Ella and Chaos and found myself smiling as I was reading them as they were getting to know each other. In the back of my mind I was trying to prepare myself for the moment when the letters may stop... clearly I didn't prepare myself enough as that had me tearing up. It was such an engaging read that once Beckett came on the scene and started developing a friendship with Ella I was having all the loved up feels and a bit of a crush on Beckett myself. This was such a compelling read it had me feeling a complete range of emotions far deeper than I expected to I smiled, ugly sobbed and literally had a moment where I was crying so hard I couldn't hold the book in my hands. It's one of those books that will forever stay with me and gave me all the feels I had when reading Bridges of Madison County and The Notebook. It was so much more layered than just a romance read, it had trauma, fun moments and devastating moments. It showed the unbreakable bonds people form through shared trauma and loyalties with strong messages about forgiveness, survival and the healing power of unconditional love, family and also found family. This will definitely be one of my most memorable reads of 2026. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ #thelastletter #rebeccayarros #pentransworld #amazon #goodreads #litsy #thestorygraph #tea_sipping_bookworm #fable #bookqueen #bookstagram

Beautiful beautiful story!
Kindle. Though I found a little bit weird to write letters to someone you don’t know, it was a beautiful story. I enjoyed it very much and shed one or two (or a thousand) tears. Read the trigger warnings because as a mother of a little one some parts were heavy and heart-breaking.
