not a how to book
This has a lot of great ideas, but for an advanced beginner, not enough detail on how it was made or glazed.

BEWARE of Ceramic Arts Handbooks!!!
I just ordered 9 of these handbooks. The more I looked through them, the madder I got!!! 1) They're just an assortment of previously printed articles, sometimes related, sometimes NOT, 2) Their Modus Operandi is to offer half new material, and the other half is articles that appear in ONE OR MORE of their other books!!! It's just a MONEY MILL of DUPLICATE articles with a new covers and new titles! Mostly an OVERPRICED RIPOFF!!! Get them from your local library, or have them order them, via Inter Library Loans.

As expected
Nicely illustrated and clearly written. Happy with purchase, although not as experimental as I'd hoped, hence the 4 stars.
