Great for our needs
We bought this dehumidifier and it has been wonderful! We have a lot of sliding glass doors in our house and they let in a lot of humidity from outside, so we bought this to help, and it's amazing. Set it on Auto and let it work its magic! There's a definite difference between outside and inside now, and I no longer feel a constant need to wash my face when I'm sitting around at home. ~30lbs is a bit bulky to lug up and down the stairs (we only ordered one to see how we like it), but it's do-able and the handle is convenient. A bit rattly while running, but I put a felt circle sticker underneath it and that solved the problem instantly. My only wish is that we had ordered two! Our mailing address is an FPO, and I think it must have been too expensive to mail because they no longer ship to FPO addresses and we can't buy another now. Sad discovery. The tank is not huge, but the machine is a workhorse. If we leave it on low and empty it right before we go to bed, we have a full tank in about 8 hours. (Average humidity outside here is 67%). The more we leave it running, the longer it takes to fill, which is nice. "High" is a bit loud to sleep in the same room with, but "low" is like a two-for-one deal with a white noise machine. Drowns out the road noise, crickets, etc, so our dogs sleep more peacefully too. The drainage hose worked great, we had it drain into the shower overnight. But the tube that came with it was challenging to pull out the next day so that we could move it around the house, I'd recommend getting a screw-on hose if it's something you're going to be connecting/disconnecting often. And for those of you with littles, it does have a child-lock feature so they aren't pushing all the buttons every time they toddle by. Enjoy!

Effective Dehumidifier with Convenient Wi-Fi Features
I shopped around for both new and used dehumidifiers and ultimately chose this one. The deciding factor for me was the Wi-Fi capabilityโsince so many devices today come with an app, I figured, why not a dehumidifier? Iโve been using it for a while now, and it has already pulled two tankfuls of water from the air. There's been a noticeable drop in humidity; our gauge now shows levels consistently around 45-50%, compared to 55-60% before. So far, this unit is performing as expected and living up to its intended purpose. Iโd definitely recommend it if youโre in the market for a dehumidifier. Hope this helps... Update 7/3: After using the unit for a few days, it became noticeably noisier than it initially was. While it still functioned properly, the noise levelโeven on the "Low" settingโwas excessive and disruptive. Ultimately, we decided to return the item due to the noise it generated. The unit wasn't particularly quiet when we first received it, and we may explore quieter alternatives in the future if they are available.

Good for price
Works great, smart features, auto settings, not the quietest running machine, if you dont mind sound.

Outstanding unit, works incredibly!
Weโve been meaning to get a dehumidifier for our basement, which was measuring mid 60%, way too high for what we would like and should have. We evaluating many different models try a couple which did not work in the sense that they did not change the relative humidity and some never even collected any moisture. We came across this unit gave it a go and couldnโt be happier. The fact that we can connect to it via our smart phones is ideal. Great investment great find!

not reliable
don't buy this product! I've had it for a few months only and within this time the full tank alert stopped working. So now the machine doesn't shut down when the tank is full and it ends up overflowing and wetting the floor...

WORKS GREAT!! YOU CAN FEEL THE DIFFERENCE IN YOUR ROOM!
Works better than expected! I was struggling to get a grow tent down below 60%RH ๐ so I decided to drop the humidity in the room itself. Brought a 4400 sqft room from 75-80% to a 60% within 24hrs! In turn, took the grow tent down to 50%!!! Exactly where it needs to be ๐ I highly recommend this product! Very satisfied ๐ Although, it would be nice if they gave you a much longer drain line... I ended up cutting a garden hose down ๐ Definately need to use a drain hose! This thing is constantly pulling the humidity out of the room!

UNDER WARRANTY -- MY TYPO MISTAKE !!!
ONCE I CONTACTED SHINCO USING THEIR CORRECT EMAIL ADDRESS, THEIR RESPONSE AND SOLUTION TO MY PROBLEM WAS FAST AND NOTE WORTHY -- I'M IMPRESSED...! ---------- I WAS USING THE EMAIL ADDRESS [email protected] AND I SHOULD HAS BEEN USING [email protected]..... WHEN I USED THE CORRECT ADDRESS, THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT RESPONDED RIGHT AWAY. ( I'LL REPORT ON WHAT HAPPENS. ) ---------- On 11-23-24 I purchased a Chinese-made Shinco SDZ1-120P Dehumidifier from Amazon.com for $179.54. (I paid the delivery man to put it in my basement and hook it up โ it seemed to work just fine after he left.) A few weeks after its installation, I had a heart attack and found it necessary to go live in a skilled facility for 5-months. I'm now home and went to check on my dehumidifier and I discovered that it was making an unusual loud compressor noise. I checked Shinco's on-line Instruction Manual that said 1-year Warranty from date of purchase. The manual said the warranty repair procedure was to e-mail [email protected] however they never responded after several attempts. ( I WAS USING WRONG E-MAIL ADDRESS! ) I must say that this is a nice looking device with desirable features. When it works, it works great โ but forget ever getting this thing repaired if your age-84, home bound, in poor health and in need of warranty work. ( SO WHAT HAPPENS IS A WAIT & SEE... )

The provided drain hose SUCKS as do the instructions! Plan on buying a garden hose for drainage.
I almost sent this back and got something different. Don't plan on having this very far from the drain that you plan to drain the water into if you're going to run it on the continuous cycle. I got this for my basement, which is damp. My old dehumidifier finally quit after years of service so I read the reviews of various ones, compared prices, and chose this one as the most affordable and best for me in my price range. I wish I would have spent more money or tried another brand. I drained my old one into the sump pump and wanted to do the same with this one. The drain hose provided with this one was so crimped to begin with from being wrapped up, that it would not allow the water to drain and I could not just lay it out and keep the open end in the sump pump well anyway. So, I cut some off. What remained would not stay where I put it so I laid a brick on it to try to keep it flat and draining into the pump. The brick did not crush the hose at all, but vibrations from the dehumidifier running caused the hose to keep turning up along the curled position that it had been stored in. So, I trimmed more off. Same thing happened again. So, I trimmed a little more and used duct tape to adhere it in place to the brick with the open end of the hose into the sump well. Each time, the unit had shut itself off because it had filled its relatively small tank because the drain hose turned upwards and would not drain. I am about out of hose to trim! I don't want the unit any closer to the sump pump than it is now so it looks like I am going to have to go buy a cheap garden hose just so I can cut a piece off and use it to attach to the dehumidifier's hose attachment port that works as an alternative to the supplied hose. They must have known that their supplied hose sucked. The instruction manual, as it is, sucks too. Very few instructions. I had to experiment with pressing buttons just to get the thing set to lower humidity levels that I wanted instead of the one that comes up automatically, which at first was 50%! Next time it powered back on (after I had to turn it off to reset it after draining the reservoir tank again) it defaulted to 80%! Humidity at those levels would sort of defeat the purpose, would they not? It's such a hassle to box up or even carry something like this to a return center, so I will probably just bite the bullet and spring for a cheap garden hose so I can lose the brick and duct tape and move the thing farther away from the sump pump and put it where I want it. I urge looking elsewhere.
