I purchased it for my 18 month old daughter and it's one of her favorite bed time books. It has vibrant colors and illustrations and is very pleasing to the eye. The story is beautiful as well and something I'm sure she'll appreciate once she's old enough to understand it. This is truly a book able to be enjoyed by all ages. It does a great job of helping little kids understand a bit of Islamic culture and heritage and is a MUST addition to any child's home library. Review: Perfect! - What a wonderful book, and suitable for ages 2 and up. My 7 year old and 4 year old were completely entertained while I read it to them, and pointed out the fabulous illustrations that they recognized. It is written in perfect rhyme and each page is a different color describing a specific Muslim concept. The book is perfect for introducing Islamic themes to any child, even ones with no previous Islamic background. This would be a great diverse book for a pre-school or Montessori to have!

Beautiful illustrations & clever text
This is a beautifully illustrated book. My daughter often points to this book, and sits still while I read it to her. She is just completely captivated by the illustrations... I think in particular she loves the eyes in the book. The pages are all so beautiful and colorful, you almost forget that it is also very well written and charming! Definitely would recommend this book to Muslim families or those wanting to teach their children about some Muslim cultures and customs.

A radiant and colorful exploration of Muslim culture
The quality of the pictures in this book is exquisite. Young readers can enjoy an early introduction from a young Muslim girl as she introduces elements from her culture. A great way to learn new words and aspects of Muslim culture for all young readers. After reading this book, parents and teachers can then explore other books that explain some of these aspects of Islam in further detail if readers have more questions. A great way to explore and celebrate the beautiful aspects of Muslim culture!

Colorful and a beautiful first introduction of Muslim culture.
I am nearly as much of a novice toward Islam as my 2-year old son. This is the ideal first book to introduce both of us to the Islamic culture. Upon opening the first pages, I was stunned to see such beautiful and colorful artwork - it makes sense, since at it's bare bones, this is a color primer. Each color is delightfully displayed and introduces an aspect of Islamic way of life - the blue of her mother's hijab... and the brown color of dates. The lyrical quality of the text was easy to follow and simple enough to catch the interest of a rambunctious toddler. It has detail, without flooding too many concepts on a young brain. There is no special story, just follows a little Muslim girl as she shows us a bit of her normal life. It's so simple, yet powerful enough to be relatable.

Colorful, artistic renderings
Beautiful renderings. Simple, clear messages. Singsong, rhythmic language keeps the little one entertained. Our daughter identifies herself, her parents and grandparents as characters in the book. One of our child's favorite books. We read it at least once a day.

Great Book
This book is really nice. It teaches culturally Islamic things without being overly religious. It uses great artwork that kids love with vibrant colors. It's excellent, particularly for small kids. And even though the main character is a girl, the book would be just as good for a boy. I definately recommend it.

Reading even to the young
I bought this book for a friend about to have his first child. A daughter and he was so giddy. Unlike most people instead of clothes or bottles I buy books and music for a new born because I know hearing is intense as ababy and a great way for parents to bond with a newborn. Also Books can be used for years to come. My freind was surprised I found muslim childerens books for him and him and his wife were astounded by the art as was I. I can't wait till the little one grows up and can see and understand this book herself until then her dad says he will enjoy reading it to her every night before he leaves for work. Side Note I have severe dyslexia so if spell check didn't catch the mistakes and neither did I. I appologize. Another reason I give books is because as a child i was told I was stupid becasue in second grade i could barely read. Then I transfered continents and schools. I took a special test and found out I had severe dyslexia once I learned how to read with I went to from an F to reading to an A in less that 8 weeks. To this day even though words still shift I love to read up to 4 books a week.

As family we spend a lot of money on children books. I always have difficulty in finding attractive religious books for my 4 year old daughter. She loved this one instantaneously. The visuals are well-done, rhymes are beautiful. Definitely a perfect educational, inspirational book.

No tiene mucho texto pero introduce los colores en inglés a la par que los relaciona con elementos de la cultura islámica.
