Down & Out Blues

'Down and Out Blues' and 'The Real Folk Blues' are the two best albums from the harmonica maestro Sonny Boy Williamson. Those who have any interest at all in classic blues should acquire these two albums. I've deducted one star for the careless packaging. My copy of the album arrived in a large brown envelope! Amazon normally takes care to place records in a cardboard sleeve in order to protect them whilst in transit. As a result of this oversight, my record cover is crumpled and creased, which is rather annoying. It's the first time that this has happened, so I won't labour the point.

This CD is by Sonny Boy Williamson II (born Alex Ford) from Mississippi. He took the Sonny Boy name, to try and capitalise on the popularity of Sonny Boy Williamson, from Chicago. That all said, this is an album of fine, solid blues.

Great to hear this again, short but that's how things were way back when.A little gem at a reasonable price.
