It must be an error. The ingredient list is as follows: Beef, Pork, Salt, Dextrose, Contains 2% or Less Of: Spices, Lactic Acid Starter Culture, Yeast Extract, Natural Flavor, Garlic Powder, Sodium Erythorbate, Sodium Nitrite.

Is this supposed to be a summer sausage that cuts in slices or a paste like dog food?

You cut it in slices. Serve it with cheese, fruit, crackers, I like the dip it in some spicy mustard myself.

Good value

This is one piece of meat that's hard to beat! It's taste, thickness and saltiness will satisfy your appetite. And it's not too greasy. I've never found any mold on them, so their durability is far lasting.

This was a good buy. The sausage has a light flavor Taste. I may buy again. The color is good the size is good. It made me want to have a few so one purchase will have you wish you had a few. I may buy again. Cost is great.

A value proposition

This sausage is OK. It looks, feels and tastes like summer sausage. I don't think the taste is significantly different from competing brands. Where this product excels is it's value, $11/pound compared to $13/pound for Johnsonville, $16+/pound for Whole Foods' 365 and $21+/pound for Hickory Farms. I see no reason to purchase the more expensive products.
