What size is good for cat fishing?

depends on the type of cat fishing and environmental conditions. We primarily fish for Sail Cats where the mouth of a Florida Panhandle river empties into the Gulf. These are generally considered to be Saltwater Catfish as opposed to Freshwater Catfish. The bottom is a mix of mud, oyster beds and a few sandy spots. The water is subject to fairly strong currents while the tide is changing. We fish from shore. It's necessary to cast our bait about 100 feet in order to get into the main channel. Given these conditions, we generally use a 1oz coin sinker on 7 ft medium/heavy rods with 20 lb test braid line. That gives us the casting range and seems to hold well in mud and oyster beds. When the tidal current is very strong, we occasionally use a 2 oz sinker. However, our rods aren't quite stiff enough to cast 2 oz sinkers very well.

Why are the 3 Ounce sinkers double in price as opposed to the others, $12.97 ?"

it depends on the ounces and what it costs to ship it. anything over 13 ounces jumps up dramatically.

These will work

Great price and will work as needed. Not like this is some new technology. Lead fishing weights have been around a while and we all know if you tie it to a fishing line and place it in water it's going to sink... The quality is good and the price is the best point. Not exactly related but at the same time I ordered these I also ordered a scale. Used the pack of weights to test the accuracy of the scale and either the scale is off or these weights are off by an average of 1/16 of an ounce per weight. Mathmaticly it's a 50/50 chance of either one being wrong but I'd probably lean towards the new (cheap) scale being inaccurate. Yes I'd recommend these.

Perform as expected

These are well made and priced right. Not a lot you can say about a lead weight, other than it sinks in water. The eyelet is well formed, and solidly attached to the weight. I have used them many times and I am satisfied with their performance.

Great weights for catfish rig

I couldn't find any of these weights in 1 ounce except here on Amazon. They work as they should and great for catfish rigs. I would buy again, Okay price for 16 but the next day Amazon had them 3 bucks less....

Made great tablecloth weights for outside

I hung the 1 oz. weights on some drape clips to keep my tablecloths from sliding around during my son's outdoor graduation party. (Thanks, Martha Stewart.) Worked perfectly. I just wish I had time to paint them beforehand.

Disk weights for fishing.

I will be using these 2oz. Bullet disk weights for fishing in the surf at Daytona Beach FL. coast. I have heard they work as well as the way more costly weights with "Barbs" on them. So I'm sure they will work just fine. I trust the people I've talked to while using them while fishing ! So why not,eh. Thanks, Tom

Amazing sinking ability.

I used these on my line with a lake trolling rig... and wouldn't you believe it?!?! My line didn't float! In-fact, it SUNK! Just as predicted. Man, I gotta tell you. If you want your line to sink, these are the tools for you. Catch some fish.

I used this for surf fishing. The 3 oz is fine for normal current conditions but in more stormy weather i would increase the weight. I would buy again.
