FIRST IN A NEW SERIES! CAN TRUE LOVE SURVIVE A WAR BETWEEN ANGELS, VAMPIRES, AND LYCANS? Adrian Mitchell is a powerful angel leading an elite Special Ops unit of Seraphim. His task is to punish the Fallen--angels who have become vampires--and command a restless pack of indentured lycans. But Adrian has suffered his own punishment for becoming involved with mortals--losing the woman he loves again and again. Now, after nearly two hundred years, he has found her--Shadoe--her soul once more inhabiting a new body, with no memory of him. And this time, he won't let her go... Review: An interesting and original concept. - Enter a world of the author's creation where mortals, Angels, Archangels, Vampires, Lycan and Demons exist and they all seem to be related! Watchers were the original angels sent to Earth to watch humans but when they began to procreate with them they were punished by a group of angels called Sentinels. Their wings were cut off, they lost their souls, gained immortality and became "the Fallen". Their offspring became half mortal, half angel but they could be turned by one of the original Fallen and could then walk in daylight as long as they were given access to a Fallen's blood. Minions are vampires who are confined to the night, they can make more vampires but cannot reproduce. They are hunted by the Sentinels. But they outnumber the Sentinels. Lyman's were created from angels and demons and have been cursed since the beginning of their time to serve as bodyguards to the Sentinels. Most are not treated well by the Sentinels. They are not immortal but do live longer then plain mortals and can reproduce like mortals. They outnumber the Sentinels by the thousands. They are indentured and any Lycan who shows signs of being Alpha are immediately separated from the packs and forced to hunt alone. There were two hundred Sentinels sent to punish the Fallen. They are not allowed to kill the Fallen unless they are attacked first. Sentinels are immortal but can be killed. They are to remain pure angels so no sex, no emotions and no ties. They are to keep the balance. Adrian, the leader of the Sentinels fell in love and lust with the daughter of Syre, the leader of the Fallen. When Shadoe was mortally wounded in battle, Adrian took her to her father to be saved. He did not understand the price both he and Shadoe would pay for that mistake. Lindsay Gibson is not a "normal" mortal. She watched her Mother die when she was five, at the hands of Vampires. She has been hunting and killing Vampires for the past 10 years. Lindsay hears voices in the wind and can tell the difference between a mortal and anything else. Although she may not know exactly what they are, she can discern whether they are good or evil and acts accordingly. Lindsay and Adrian are destined to meet, again. What is Lindsay and will she know what Adrian has done? What is causing the Vampires to go "rabid" and who or what is behind it? Will the Lycan revolt against the Sentinels? Who or what is killing Sentinels? What do the Archangels have to do with any of this? I couldn't put the book down. As always, the author draws the reader into her world and her characters like a tornado and does not let go. Review: Awesome! - The synopsis was perfect! Definitely outlined what the story is all about. And it helps that I'm a big fan of Vampires, Angels, and Lycans. I am also a fan of Sylvia Days Crossfire Novel - Bared to You - which is completely different to the Renegade Angel series yet it tells you a lot about the Author! that she is driven to empower her readers with her amazing writing style ;) Adrian Mitchell is a sexy hot Alpha male Angel who leads the Sentinels (a pack of Angels) to police the fallen angels to stop them (and their minions/fledglings) from creating havoc in the mortal world. He has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders and tries to control them as best he can whilst at the same time protecting his only true lover, whom hes loved for eons. Lindsay Gibson is a strong human mortal that carries the soul of Shadoe. The soul that belongs to the daughter of the Vampire Leader, Syre. The soul that Adrian falls in love with over and over again. But she also comes with a surprise. That Lindsay holds a personality of her own that takes a hold on Adrian as well. Elijah is a Lycan who serves the sentinel or more precisely, Adrian. Like most of his kin he is loyal to the sentinel and helps control the vampire clans... but he is also being looked to as the Alpha of their kind if they should revolt to freedom. His pack pressures him to make a choice of staying with the sentinel or leave them and take up his position as the Leader. You have to read it to find out what he chooses. This story is action packed all throughout the book and keeps you in the loop of everything that is going on right to the end. Making you want to find out more. I am soooo looking forward to the next book!

Great start!!
I totally loved this book!!...After reading the last 2 reviews of this book, I couldnt disagree more! I didnt feel that there were inconsistencies,I felt that the book was setting the stage for something bigger and that everything that the characters believed would change...I could be totally wrong, I but I think in the next few books, it will all be clear. I think that Adrian, along with all the angels, the lycans and also the vampires, will all evolve into something else in the future books..The vampires are really not "souless" as they are supposed to be, as they care about each other, the lycans arent really supposed to be slaves, so they take things into their own hands, and the angels probably will develop relationships in the future...This book formed a very interesting and complex world, which I found fascinating...Adrian was a great leader and his feelings for Lindsay were very strong..Lindsay was complex and compassionate and totally believable in her dealings with this new world, which she thought she didnt belong in, but really did! I loved how their relationship was handled....and I also loved Elijah too! He is an alpha, they all knew it, and apparently stepped up, although we will have to see in the next book what exactly happened...all in all, this book was captivating and was hard to put down...I highly recommend it and cant wait for the next one!

Just couldn't put it down!
How do you know you're reading a good book? Let's see, you find yourself sneaking a few pages at work, you find excuses to not make dinner so you can curl up on the couch & keep reading, oh, and your husband speaking to you and interrupting your reading is enough to sink your teeth into him and drink him dry! So, there's not much else I can say, I loved this book! From the beginning I was captivated. Adrian was powerfully angelically sexy! Lindsay was strong, no holds barred, feisty, lovable character. The sexual chemistry was intense from the moment they first see each other. There is plenty of action and vampires, lycans, and just great power & chemistry. Already downloaded book two, can't wait to sink my teeth into that one!!!

Talented Writing, but Vague Story
This was a somewhat entertaining read, but not a really good piece of literature. I thought the story had some potential in the beginning about Adrian fallling in love with Shadoe (Lindsay) in a second lifetime. I liked how she didn't know she was in love with him centuries prior, but the story lost some details from there. There were some very tedious chapters where I didn't understand how the background characters contributed to the plot because it focused too much on the kingdom and too little on the main characters. It could have talked more about Lindsay and Adrian's pasts and how their reconnection changed them, plus more on why the other people didn't like them together. It would have also been interesting if it talked about Lindsay going back and forth between lives, as she continued her work throughout the week and spent weekends in the kingdom (For instance, it could have mentioned her performance going down because of daydreaming, Adrian silently talking to her while she's working, lust, etc.) The ending was okay, but could have had a more interesting twist, such as Lindsay finding out it was all a dream or being told she's delusional or a vampire taking extreme revenge on her. But it pretty much lacks all of the details I mentioned. The book does contain a few explicit scenes, but it's not too in depth. Is it worth reading if you're a big Sylvia Day fan? Yes. Is it worth buying the second book? No.

Amazing story line and intense attraction!
One of the best supernatural romances I have read, to date. Ms. Day has created such an intricate story that goes beyond any love story romance novel, this is full of twists, turns, surprises, angels, vampires, Lycans and all you can imagine that comes with it. Alphas, testosterone spilling out of every male character's pores while also entwining moral convictions which characters live and battle with. It is an amazing read which I finished in two days and just purchased the second novel which I truly look forward to delving into.

Good, & worth the read to get to book 2
Sylvia Day has found a spot on my pre-order author list, which is very, very short. Although her stories sometimes have plot and or character issues, her writing is compelling and her books are hard to put down. Not only does she nail descriptions and stir emotions, but she writes character chemistry and sexual tension very well. I would have given this book 5 stars except that, as others have stated, the double standard regarding Adrian is off-putting and not well enough explained. The author addresses it some in book 2 (unsure if she planned this or did so in response to negative reviews), and it did soften me some to him (and made me question if even further explanation was to come in book 3), but it didn't fix the problem entirely. Had he taken the attitude of 'I won't turn you in, but if you get caught...', it would have been better. But why no one questioned his affair is odd and unclear. Even so, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters are likeable and well drawn, and the chemistry between them is excellent. Reading A Touch of Crimson is definitely worth it to get to book 2, a continuation of the story and a total 5-star work if there ever was one. If you don't mind graphic love scenes and you can overlook some minor flaws and poor theology where the angels are concerned, you'll like this series.

Interesting and couldn't put it down
Am in love with this book, wish it had an audio version though. It's hard to find time to actually sit & read all the time but I can always listen all the time. Adrian & Lindsey are quite a pair.... love love this book

A Touch of....wow!
Loved it from the first page!! Action, Angels, Sentinels, Vampires, Lycans, Demons, Love and Sex all rolled into one! what more could a girl want? I read A Dark Kiss of Rapture the short novella in this series first which being short i devoured in one sitting (although a full on non stop 4 hour sitting) but it left me hungry to learn sooo much more about this world the author, Sylvia Day had created - so i dived straight into A Touch of Crimson, being a longer book it took a few more sittings but was still finished in a few days as i just could not put it down - the characters are fabulous the story line is fantastic and the detail and set up is amazing. Hats off to Syvlia Day for creating such a fabulous and engrossing world and story line that is intricately put together. I have gone on to read the next installment being A Hunger So Wild and love the fact that the author goes from one set of characters to another seamlessly picking up loose ends and taking you through so you can see events from both sides of the story - its fab - am waiting for the other short novella in the series, A Caress of Wings to become available on E-Book download and then its a long wait for the next book A Taste of Seduction in February 2013!! can I wait that long?? I don't think I can!!! All in all the whole series is a must read, I also thoroughly enjoyed Bared to You from the Crossfire Novel series from the same author Sylvia Day and cannot wait for the next book - I don't know how she does it but so far every book of her's that I have ready has been superb!
