Turn down your device
I have a iPhone and bought an old pickup truck recently as a second car. Radio or tape was all I have, otherwise I could drive around with my AirPods in… It took me a while to figure out which of these to buy. But I finally settled on this one. One thing to note, if you can’t decide which “brand” is best, they may look like they’re made for different companies, but they all appear to be the exact same manufacture, still the tape ‘type’ matters. Full disclosure, I also bought an official Apple dongle at the same time, so I know I have a good adapter. If you don’t have Bluetooth in your car but have a tape deck, I believe this is the best available option. I looked at the Bluetooth tape but keep in mind you need to charge its battery, you can’t charge it while it’s in use either, and you have to turn the tape on and off, I don’t want to have to remember to eject the tape and turn it off every time I get out, and turn it on and insert the tape every time I get in. This version lets you just plug and play, that’s all that’s required. If you’ve read any reviews saying the sound quality is “just terrible” and “has horrible distortion”, they’re unaware of one of the most important sound mixing/console/PA principles: never have your input volume at maximum level; it’s really user error. When you have multiple volume controls on a singular source to output your originating volume should be roughly at 70-80%. So, think about how you have your phone to the tape then the tape to your stereo, your phone needs to be at mid to mid-high volume level (or just under where you hear distortion), then your stereo volume can go as high as you want it to and you won’t get any distortion; in fact, the clarity was so striking to me i felt this review was absolutely necessary for me to write.

Transform your car into the modern era for less than $30 bucks!
I saw in review for a similar product that they used this to plug into a bluetooth fm adapter and connect their phone via bluetooth so every time they enter their car instant Bluetooth connection was set up. I was having difficulty with using just FM transmitter alone since in my area it is hard to find empty FM stations, and once you do find one, it can change if you end up driving long distances and going through different cities in your day. So it becomes annoying when you are driving on the highway when your podcast/music suddenly transitions to whatever random station you are connected to. But this cassette adapter is the perfect solution provided you still have a cassette player in your car. This has worked very well for me. I chose this cassette adapter because I prefer the feel of the nylon cabling and there's nothing else on amazon with similar build. However, the piece holding the plug did fall apart when I first opened it but I chose not to return it since it did not really affect the connection and I can always glue it together when I get around to it. Most importantly, the sound quality I got with this has outstanding. No more staticky sounds, no random dropped connections. Only time will tell how well this holds up.

Arsvita vs Scosche vs Elook vs UE Wonderboom 2
I have and old car with no AUX, USB or Bluetooth. A long commute to and from my three jobs, with soul-crushing traffic. basically, I'm always on the road, spend a lot of time in my car and in traffic. And radio sucks! I just hate the radio! I actually haven't listened to radio in about 7 years or more and I will not start now. Arsvita and Elook are the exact same thing. Same parts, manufacturer and product; just by different names. I tested the "upgraded" version of Arsvita whit the nylon cable, and the conventional Elook which is the same as the original Arsvita. Same cable and jack. Scosche is the only one slightly different built and actually different manufacturer. I tested them all at once following the proper instructions. They all sucked and performed and sounded terrible. As soon as you put them in the cassette player they make this terrible static and grinding noise. Even without the phone/player plugged in, just on it's own while nothings playing (of course I adjusted the volume on the car's radio end and my player's end. Still sounds terible) the static sound comes from the radio just being on with a cassette that's not really a cassette and the grinding noise comes from the cassette adapter "turning" the "tape" which of course there isn't any because the adapter is just tricking the car into think it's a cassette so you can use your AUX with it. The sound is terrible and annoying. And if you want to drown the sound, making either end (the radio or phone/player) just makes the static, grinding and feedback noise louder too! The best overall was the Arsvita with the upgraded audio jack plug and nylon cable (the nylon helps cancel out the static and feedback noise that occur when the cable moves or brushes against something, which often.) The second best was the Elook, same as the conventional Arsvita. The audio cable broke after a few weeks and after that I had to wiggle it to hear my music. It would cut in and out has the cable moved, like an old broken charging cable you have to fidget with to make work. Basically it was useless at that point. Lastly the Scosche wouldn't even be recognized by the radio at fist. After messing with it and flipping it it until it worked, the audio quality was around the same as the conventional Arsvita/Elook with less grinding noise but same amount of static/feedback noise. But it always took a few tries to make the radio recognize it as a cassette. It took a few flips for it to start playing. Conclusion: I bough a wireless Bluetooth speaker. The Wonderboom 2 (by Ultimate Ears/Logitech) is the speaker I chose after looking at a few Bose, JBL, Beats, Sony and Apple options. The Wonderboom 2 is $100 ($75 or less now) but it has lasted 2 years now and it's going strong. It's the best option I could find for sound in my car that's not the radio. I put it in my cupholder or center console or the little cubi space under the radio/AC controls and the sound fills up the whole car. It's surprisingly loud yet clear and crisp. It has 360 degree sound and it has an even louder "outdoor mode" option. No feedback, static or any other noise. No bluetooth lag. It connects, pairs and starts playing instantaneously. you can pause/play, skip or go back, volume up and down all in the speaker. Water, dust and shock proof. and the best part: it has 13 hours of battery life and takes 2.5 hours to charge completely. I just charge it with my USB car charger while the speaker is still playing on my cupholder. The music and podcast never stop! In addition I can take the speaker out and give it other uses, like when I'm working on the car I just put it on top of the car and I can listen to whatever I want as I'm doing oil changes, rotating tires and messing with the car. It's also on whenever the car's off like when I'm in traffic, drive-thru, waiting for the train to pass or putting gas. All in all I have a way better experience with music, podcast or any other audio than with a cassette aux adapter. I'm never going back TL;DR: All the cassette aux adapters sucked so I bought a wireless bluetooth speaker instead which worked flawlessly! It has a lot more features than what I explained here, check it out and judge for yourself: https://www.amazon.com/ULTIMATE-EARS-WONDERBOOM-Deep-Space/dp/B07NFPGNWD/ref=sr_1_4?crid=15DRMEZH3AIJI&keywords=ue%2Bwonderboom%2B2&qid=1659429514&s=electronics&sprefix=ue%2Bwonderboom%2B2%2Celectronics%2C151&sr=1-4&th=1

Works great, found that the inner gears were for show so i pulled them out.
I used this thing for a JVC PC-X100 that had no other input options, naturally it's going to make the music real flat but my system had a bass booster so it's alright. My only real complaint was the noise those inner gears made when they spun, I would like to clarify that this is a review for the wired model also.

crisp clean sound with my older stereo in my 95 civic.
Pop in the cassette adapter, hooked it up to my phone and realized that this was best adapter I ever used. I have probably gone through five or six over the years, my civic has over 300K on it. For the price, it is amazing. I ordered two more because I am not crazy about the Bluetooth volume in my 2002 CRV. The third is a back up because the sound was that good. :)

Amazing for about 3 minutes
Worked fantastic for about 3 minutes... tried troubleshooting and it seems- if the cable is moved AT ALL it starts to have issues - so essentially it's super fickle. It'll be stereo, then mono and then flip the tape a couple times and spit it out. If you want to sit and play with it, holding the cable just right, it might work for you, but for me - this is unusable.

It just works!
We bought a very old RV to get away in the hot summers. It came with a cassette tape player. We didn't want the expense of replacing the player with new capabilities. This adapter allows us to use our phone to play back music and books-on-tape through the RV speakers. Works very well.

only plays in mono
I can't imagine there is a huge market for these, but I have a classic car with a tape player. I bought this as it specifically stated it works in stereo, so thought I'd attach my old ipod to use in the car. Unfortunately it only plays in Mono, not stereo as advertised. I contacted support, who suggested I alter the "balance" on the head unit... as if that wasn't the very first thing I checked!. To be fair, they did ask if I ran some more tests and it doesn't work I could contact them for a refund or replacement. Unfortunately it still only plays in Mono, so I can't really recommend this one.

Does the job but sound quality not brilliant
Does the job, can get audio from my phone into the cassette player in old car. Unfortunately the sound quality isn’t the best, lacking a lot of bass and the interference noise is quite load. Not bad for the money but better for podcasts than for music
