Great book, great gift
Such a beautiful story. Reads almost like a kids' book -- but has a profound message. I love gifting this to friends who have gone through some tough times and have emerged triumphant -- or who just need some encouragement.

So powerful to read
This book was recommended by my therapist. It was very thought provoking and helped me with my emotional health and self thoughts. A great read for anyone who struggles with self love.

Excellent book!
I love this type of book! It is almost an allegory, but not really. It is written like a children's story, kind of like a picture book, but has a deeper meaning. I put it in the same category as 'The Wall' and 'Hope for the Flowers.' One page that I often remember from this book is the one where the sun tells the tree that he needed the winter so that he would be strong. And when the tree blames the sun for not being there when he needed the warmth from the sun, and the sun says that he was there all the time and sometimes his light was about more than the tree could take - it reflected so brightly off the snow.

Totally pleased
The book arrived and was gently used, as expected. There were no markings in the book and it was in great condition, considering its age. The jacket was also in excellent condition. The book also arrived 2 days early - that was an unexpected great bonus!

This is a powerful little short story
A friend introduced me to this story and I found it so moving that I bought my own copy. For those of us who have been through a very difficult stretch and come out the other side, it celebrates our faith and encourages us to find beauty and joy again. It is only a short story with a tree as the main character, but it is powerful.

For children and adults
A wonderful book that can be read to children. This little book has some deep truths hidden in it for some adults who may see themselves throughout the story.
