My go-to sauce!
If you want a hot sauce that will melt your face off - this isn't it. If you want a sauce with some heat and a lot of flavor, that melds well with lots of foods, and that you can easily use every day, this is your sauce. I don't know why the negative reviews claim it was super salty. It has a very present saltiness to it, but well within reason. When mixed with any food, the salt is not really perceptible. I wonder if maybe those people didn't shake the bottle? Because it does settle. And shaking a 1/2 gallon jug is a workout! Half a gallon might seem like overkill. Like who would consume that much hot sauce? A jug usually lasts me, by myself, about 4 to 6 months. It keeps well in the refrigerator. Really, though, I buy the 1/2 gal because paying $10 for a tiny 10oz. bottle is an absolute ripoff, when you can buy 6+ little bottles' worth for only a few dollars more. Do buy a small bottle first, though, to see if you like it, and more importantly to have a handy bottle to refill. The only other thing is that this isn't really a dipping sauce. But you can mix it with a small amount of mayonnaise, and it loses a bit of the heat, but keeps the flavor and overpowers the mayo, and that makes a decent dipping sauce. Overall, my favorite sauce. I'm on my third jug!

Been Buying for Years & Will Continue to Buy
Pepper Plant is my all time favorite hot sauce. The spice level is moderate. The flavor is superb. I don't even buy other brands any more. I will say that it is rather salty, so if I know I'm going to use it, I reduce the salt in whatever I'm cooking. This large jug lasts my family of 3 about a year and I've never had it go bad.

Yummy--Great value
Love Pepper Plant sauce. It is a staple in our house. It is pricy in the stores, so this is a fantastic value for me. The sauce is flavorful without the heat just ruling its taste. It pours well and is not watery (think Heinz 57 consistency).

Best hot sauce out there.
This hot sauce has the best flavor, there is a reason why they sell this by the 1/2 gallon, as thatโs how I buy it. As a bottle just wonโt cut it, you will be out before you know it. Itโs fantastic on everything, eggs, burgers, fries, just about everything!

YUMM - delicious, salty, smokey, flavor - not too hot
This is a great product that my grocery store no longer carries. Definitely worth buying in larger size due to pricing. I pour it into smaller mason jars and store in fridge or gift to family. Is salty, smokey with medium heat but does not leave a burn in mouth, garlicky as well. Mix with mayo for great burger or sandwich spread. Use in stir fry, a little goes far.

Great Taste with heat but not overpowering
Came across this at a restaurant during a visit to San Diego. Liked it so much there that I bought a bottle to bring home. Found that I just really enjoyed the flavor it would bring with some heat but not so much that it overpowered the food. The individual bottles were expensive to buy, but this half gallon jug is economical and because it is mostly vinegar based the sauce lasts well (I have a backup fridge in the Garage, which helps). Works well with Mexican, Latin, and Cajun/Creole dishes, not to mention just eggs or anything that needs a bit of kick. The wings are especially good and that's where this 1/2 gallon really comes in handy! This is one of those great "finds" that one comes upon and I share with everyone that comes over.

Too salty and I love salt!
I always salt my dishes (I love salt) so my first try using this on chicken the flavor was great but way too salty! Next I tried it in a green chili I had made that turned out a little bland and it was much better...it would be wonderful if they made a low sodium version (I can't believe I am writing this)! It has a strong flavor of what seemed like celery to me which was a little different. Bet it would be killer in a bloody mary!
