Calgon makes your hard water softer. Softer water helps your clothes detergent work more efficiently. That's it. Good stuff.

This has made a noticeable difference in our washing as we have very hard well water. You can see the difference in white clothing. Previously the necks of tee shirts never lost a faint discoloration. Now they are really white.

I have very hard water at both of my homes and love using this product. I do not see the build up on the door of my washer nor the drain rubber on the front loader. I will use it again. Not a bad price for the quality and the scent is very light. Just pour it in the detergent dispenser with the soap - Simple. Very glad the packaging changed over time by individually wrapping each bottle as sometimes they would leak before delivery, but have not had that problem since the change ws made. simple to use and size is easy to handle.

We use this with Dawn in our grey and black water tanks in our RV. Soft water and Dawn keep the tanks clean plus there is a major difference in odors during the summer.

I never thought that I’d be writing a product review on a laundry product - but here I am. We have hard water where I live and it makes doing simple laundry difficult. I alway ended up with a washer full of (what appeared to be soap or calcium grains - and they were irritating to breath in after I washed my clothes. My first load of simple t-shirts with Calgon seemed to release a lot of particulate matter that I usually needed to rinse several times before I could wear the items. Not so with calgon. I just did a simple double rinse , and the shirts had released all of the particles that I was used to. No irritation from sniffing my t-shirts - nothing.. Add to that, the clothing is much smoother and softer than before. I expect subsequent washes will make them even smoother again. This product is inexpensive and very easy to use. Its also very to find - except at Amazon. No other online store seemed to carry it.

This is a Great product. But they need to bag !! Thank goodness the other item in box was bagged!! Not sure how it was delivered dripping.

I really like using this. I do not have a water softener. I order it from Amazon because it is hard to find.

This definitively whitens the white laundry, helps not to turn yellowish.

I have hard water at home and have been looking for things to help soften the water for washing and showering. This seems to help, but it's kind of hard for me to tell.

I am using this product to use with my aluminum plates to clean my silverware. Could not find product in stores?
