Mueller 'Green' Adjustable Back & Abdominal Brace

My job requires me to stand for 8 hours with only a half hour break to sit down, 5 hours into my shift. I've been having a lot lower back pain and this Adjustable Back and Abdominal Support Belt from Mueller has really helped to reduce that pain quite a bit! I can now get through the shift without too much pain and am able to enjoy doing a good job. This is a BIG DEAL! The belt is smartly designed with two hard lumbar support pads on either side of the spine. The belt fastens with velcro tabs and then adjusts easily with a pull chord and strings that allow you to make it as tight as you want it. It is sturdy and comfortable and built to last. It helps me to stand up straight and gives me better endurance and strength! It unfastens quickly and easily! You can’t go wrong with this Back and Abdominal Support Belt! Mueller has done an excellent job!

This is a great back support! Mainly because it has the great draw-string adjustment that makes it super easy to tighten or loosen quickly. It seems to be made very well and seems to be super durable. I have only had it for about a month and a half, but still seems like new even tho I m constantly adjusting it to meet my changing needs. It is pretty stiff so it is not very comfortable for bending over, but if you have a bad back like mine, you shouldn't be doing that anyway. I also have to loosen it when I am sitting on a soft surface like a couch or it digs in, but that is why I love how easily it can be adjusted. I am much happier with it than I expected. It is a great value too.

I really like having these belts for skiing. They keep the strain off my lower back and I feel that they prevent injuries. The only down-side is that they will usually last only a season. Two things happen: (1) from bending and getting on and off the chair lifts, they get bent like an accordion and lose some of their effectiveness. and (2) the Velcro wears out and eventually won't hold when you pull the belt tight. I really like the feel when you pull the tightening strap tight. The cost is so reasonable (12 to 17 dollars) that it's worth it to just keep getting new ones at the beginning of each ski season.

This back brace has been really helpful for me, as I am a cashier with chronic back pain. It won't fix all of your issues but for the price, it is absolutely incredible. It works great for those times when you can barely move from back pain but need to get things done, adding just enough support to get you through your shift or through whatever chores need to be done. It has really great support and is comfortable, for the most part. I recommend wearing it over a shirt or at least a tank top as it's really uncomfortable up against skin. You'll be okay wearing it with a crop top, etc. but I don't recommend it for that. The BEST part is the keyhole pull system to tighten it. It really helps get you the exact pressure and support you need, though it might take a few tries to get the hang of it.

The title of my review tells you everything you need to know. I could almost tolerate the hard pads in the lower lumbar region but the entire brace is so stiff and hard that it's horribly uncomfortable! I tried sitting with it on and that is simply an exercise in torture. The bottom of the brace hit my groin. Since the brace is so stiff, it actually hurt and I had to get up. I currently have a different Mueller back brace and it's fantastic! But, it's taller so it makes it a little hard to go out with. It's simply a wide band of stretchy material that you cross-over latch with velcro and an outer brace of the same type that you pull over the first and latch with velcro as well. I don't know what model it is (got it a while ago) but if Amazon sells it, buy it!!! It gives you incredible comfort with amazing support. When you latch the outer brace, it actually feels like you could stop a bullet - and without discomfort. In my opinion, back braces made of that stretchy material that you close with velcro is the best way to go. Even a girdle would be more comfortable than this one that I'm reviewing.

I was tricked into paying $60 for one from my chiro, because I believed it was necessary. I wish I'd just followed my gut and checked amazon first. I found this one which was basically the same but for a fraction. There's only a tiny strip of velcro that holds the entire thing in place, so it can come un-done easily. Poor design I guess. Otherwise it works fine.

I'm an avid 77 year old tennis player, bicyclist and weight trainer. I injured my lumbar 3rd thru fifth disks in a motorcycle accident when I was 21. I've never had back surgery. (I have had torn rotator cuff surgery and both knee surgeries.) I had an old back strap that could be winched but it wore out. That old strap attached with velcro and then had a smaller strap that fed thru an opening that allowed the main back strap to be tightened. After trying at least 10 other straps that just tightened elastically and insufficiently the Muelle strap WORKS! Buy one! It fits under clothes, isn't bulky and is adjustable easily 'on the run'.

It is easy to adjust the size. It fits well. 100% comfortable. I wore it during the day for two days. I found I had a support belt that had more support than this one. Therefore, I returned it.

Good velcro holding power to allow decent tension while working, it is not a weight lifting belt so don't expect that. Reduces lower back stress while working and adjusts easily to allow tensioning between work loads. Good quality, am still using this one a year later with no degradation in workmanship.

Great support for your back, lower back pain sufferers will love this. Let's you move more easily and size is great as well.

The product uses very weak velcro so the minute your body exerts any pressure against the straps it just opens up and falls off
