Would this be too "girly" for my 11 year old son? I think he would love the concept but not if it's girly.

I work for Educational Insights and sent it to my 9-year-old nephew. He loved it and showed no indication that he thought it was too girly.

Is it ultraviolet light coming from it?

I don't think so, I am not 100% sure though as we never used it. It arrived broken and the seller would not reply to a return request.
