Love our Ka-Bars
We have lots of Ka-Bar products, so when I saw these I purchased two last year as stocking stuffers for our 12 and 13 year old boys. I figured at the price, it's not so big of deal if they get lost or broken, etc. Turns out these are awesome little knives that have stood up to a year of abuse. They are the perfect size for the kids' hands, but my husband has grabbed one in a pinch and used it just fine. They look cool (kids love that), and they came wicked sharp right out of the packaging. They've been used as throwing knives, whittling knives, around-the-house knives. We are avid ourdoor people and these knives have been used A LOT -- they've withstood the test very nicely. I wouldn't expect anything less from Ka-Bar though. They obviously put the same craftsmanship in these cheap little gems as they do their more expensive knives. Highly recommend, especially for the price!

Good cheap ka bar
This is a good knife for the price. This is my second little over seas made ka bar i own (yes it’s still a real ka bar, ka bars website even says these China made knives are part of ka bars production, just made somewhere different) I have No complaints on this knife for the price. The sheath holds the blade in well and it doesn’t rattle or fall out. My blade came hair shaving sharp. I wouldnt go out stabbing trees or throwing this thing as I know it would break but for cutting (it’s intended use) it will do just fine. Great little knife to pair up with a bigger one for smaller tasks. Solid buy, I’ll be buying a third little ka bar soon.

Light, Sharp, Good Quality, But Surprisingly Small. Very Unusual Design.
Ka-Bar is a great brand, and this is truly a unique knife. It's once piece of steel from a well-established brand, so you can trust the quality of the knife, but the design is quite unusual. I have medium sized hands, and I cannot even find room on the handle for all four fingers. In addition, the handle is so thin that applying a lot pressure with the knife might cause it to really dig into your hand. I wrapped my knife's handle in paracord, which helped a lot and added some very nice utility to the knife. This knife is great in a glove box, good in a tackle box, and ideal in a small emergency kit. But, the blade and the handle are extraordinarily small and thin. For $10, it's fantastic, but it may not be one of those all-purpose, ultra-tough, "everything" knives. It truly is great to have a new, unusual design. I'm glad I bought it, and I might buy more for day packs, bug-out bags, medical kits, etc.

Great Little Back-up Blade
Have to agree with the reviews I've read concerning this knife so far. Great blade. Solid. My biggest whine is that the handle is extremely small. Overall it's endlessly concealable as it is very slim and by no means flimsy. It has held a razor edge very well with some intentional abuse and has earned it's place as an EDC back-up blade.

Great Knife For The Money
I opened the package and was very pleased with the initial quality of the knife. Out of the package, I was able to cut paper with it. There's not much I can complain about with this one, although I do wish it came with some paracord. I have big hands, so of course this knife is going to feel small in them, as will all other skeleton knives. The sheath is really bare and pretty much only useful for encasing the blade. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase.

Acceptable bugout bag knife
I recently received the Ka-Bar ZK Acheron, and wanted to post my early impressions of the knife. Out of the package, the knife was razor sharp. Much sharper, in fact, than my recently purchased SOG Jungle Canopy, which cost nearly 4 times as much. The steel feels strong and durable. The knife is made out of 5Cr13 steel, which would normally give me concerns about rust resistance, but the black coating seems to be very durable and scratch resistant, so I believe rust resistance to be a moot point. Under normal usage, corrosion will never be a concern. The handle is a bit small, making it somewhat awkward in hand. In addition, the blade shape is somewhat single-purpose, mostly as a shrunken fighting knife. It is not the most versatile, and I could not recommend it as an EDC or utility knife, as there isn't much belly to assist in cutting tasks. It will cut rope fairly well, and the needle-like point is great for stabbing or precision work, but overall, it lacks the usefulness of a wider-bladed knife. Finally, the sheath the knife ships with is absolutely abysmal. It will not retain the blade with even the most remote level of security, and if you do decide to purchase this knife, I would strongly recommend making a new sheath out of quality kydex. Overall, this is an acceptable bugout bag knife, but there are better options available for the same money or less. (Ka-Bar Piggyback!)

Very good blade at a very low price
If you haven't owned a Ka-Bar before, this certainly would not be the first one I would want to buy. In my opinion, it's not true to what a Ka-Bar should be. Try going for a full size Ka-Bar first. There are plenty here on amazon. If that's not the case, (and even if it was) the knife is priced to a point where many should feel comfortable taking the bargain. Be warned though, the knife handle is small if you have mid to large hands!
