I love these and they support my cranky feet very well, BUT
I love these and they support my cranky feet very well. I'm a woman with wide feet and a men's 8.5 is perfect for me--same size i wear in Keens. I'm very disappointed in the lacing system, i have it on other shoes and love it! On these shoes the plastic sliders/fasteners on the laces are locked in position and can't be moved no matter how they are pinched. Perhaps that is why some people report being unable to get their feet in. I ordered a replacement lace from a 3rd party.update: Rather than return these because of non-functioning fasteners, I purchased replacement stretchy laces and fasteners. The original laces, I discovered, were glued to the loop at the toe end of the shoes. It was difficult to extract the old laces from that loop and some of the other oops were narrower than expected and required stretching the material with an awl. I'd love to order another pair but won't replace the laces again. They will be returned if the fasteners are not working.

Pull cord snapped after three-day's use, arrived a day late
UPDATE: Almost a year to the day that we received these, the side-heel strap on the right shoe came out of the sole. My son still loves these shoes, though. After my son's summer shoes were damaged in a bike accident (and having good luck with Teva shoes in the past), I ordered these with the expectation they'd be a quality shoe and arrive in two days with our Prime shipping. They came a day late. Not the worst problem in the world, but my son had no other play shoes. When they did come, he loved them. We bought them a half-size larger for room to grow, so he needs to use the cinch-cord to secure the shoe on his foot. Well, after three day's use, the cord on his right shoe (near the top left, toe end) snapped in two pieces! It appears the elastic band is glued together (just like an "ouchless" elastic hair tie). Seems to me, the best place to orient the connection point on the elastic band is before the plastic finger grip, which receives far less stress and pulling. Amazon wants me to ship them back, but he can't go without play shoes for another week while Amazon and Zappos work out a return. My son was able to tie the disconnected ends into a knot and move on. However, I'm disappointed to spend that kind of money and experience this kind of outcome. I hope the rest of the shoe preforms well!

A superior sandal any price
I've been wearing Teva's for many years since they go a long way to keeping my Plantar Fasciitis at bay, without inserts. I've always ordered per my size and found a great fit - these Abbet's though, required a 1/2 size larger. The exchange was effortless and I had the larger ones in 2 days. I can't emphasize enough, if you have feet that snugly fit your size, you will want a 1/2 size larger with these sandals. As for the sandals, great quality, good looks and excellent feel. They do have a pronounced, but not excessive arch, so if you are sensitive to that, perhaps other footwear is recommended. The heel cushion on these are great, like walking on air and the grip of the sole is excellent. I'll be using these both on rough terrain and cliff side beach areas in Sardinia soon - I am fully confident these will do exactly what I bought them for, dry/wet hiking and rocky beach combing. Love my Teva's, always have, and hopefully always will.

Teva Abbett sandals = Great!
Looked all over for a good pair of Tevas to replace the other pair that I had for ten years. I considered others by LL Bean, Columbia, and Keen, but these Teva's are the best for the price and style. Really like to protected toe (I can't stand getting dirt and twigs under the toes). They are lightweight and can be worn as water shoes, but they are also wicked comfortable for walking or driving. The price is great compared to the competition, and the quality is great. These are slip-on sandals with a bungee type of cord to keep the sandal snug - no Velcro tabs to pull open. I am not sure if I woud like that characteristic, but I really do. A very minor gripe is that arch support - it is slight (and what I would expect for a sandal), but I wish it were a bit higher. But, I also expect that they will contour to my feet somewhat this summer. I am tempted to buy a second pair in case the style is discontinued in the coming years. Zappo's shipping was awesome!

Comfort - very comfortable but an important note is that for me it ...
I work as a field biologist over a range of terrain from soft sand to rocks to thick vegetation and work 12 hour shifts. On an average night I will walk over 10 miles which means I have already put hundreds of miles on these guys!I needed something that would breathe and dry out quickly but were also durable and had toe protection and these were absolutely ideal. They have held up very well over the past 3 months and showing few signs of wear, I expect them to last a while even with the abuse im giving them!Comfort - very comfortable but an important note is that for me it took about a week to break them in, I find this with almost all shoes so not surprising. They rubbed in a couple of places but wearing socks and duct taping trouble areas helped unitl they softened up. Now they fit like a glove and I could happily wear them all day.Overall a great shoe and very happy with my first experience with Teva

Okay, but a little heavy and bulky for a sandal
Got these to replace my older Keene's that are wearing out. The original Keen's from 4-5 years ago are my favorite but Keene changed their design and I don't like them at all any more. These Teva sandals are the best alternative I've found, but they are still not nearly as comfortable as the original Keene. These Teve sandals fit okay, slightly small but not bad. They have excellent arch support... more arch support than any footwear I've ever worn. The main discomfort is that they are just too heavy, too bulky and the soles are too stiff for a sandal. They are more like an sandal / hiking boot hybrid, if you can imagine that. The new Keene sandals are even worse that way. I will keep these because I can't find anything better but I'd really prefer it if they made them more flexible and lighter weight, like the original Keene sandals.
