Kracie Popin' Cookin' Sushi Making Kit

With most products, I've often been left a little disappointed that the end result didn't look like the pretty picture on the box. The great thing about these kits is that you end up with basically the exact thing! Used with kids aged 6 and 8. While the younger needed more guidance, the older one could handle the kit with minimal adult help with instruction. As long as you stick to the SPECIFIC measurements (i.e. fill to line), you get a great result. One other thing I LOVE about these kits is that in MANY countries, the entire packaging is recyclable. Also, every part of the package is used, so there is no waste. It's so cleverly packaged and so much fun. The process of making the "drop" type candy was really cool! Other candy "science" kits charge $30 to see the same thing, but you can buy a bulk package of Kracie kitchen kits for a few dollars each. Very good value and kids can stay busy for an hour. The flavor was definitely a grape type, but not the same "grape" in American products. Not too overpowering of a taste for the kids, but as an adult, I find the entire kit too sweet to eat more than one piece.

Well, you kind of expect the same from every Popin Cooking kit-- The process tends to be more fun than the candy is good, and this is no different. My kids love the Japanese treats and my daughter (who is 12) liked putting this all together and presenting it on a sushi plate (she accidentally ripped the package wrong when she opened it and the "sushi plate" which is printed on the wrapper was torn-- so open with scissors if you want to use it!) I got to try some of the treats myself-- The Nori is yummy (like a tootsie roll-- but grape) and the "rice" wasn't too bad (a nice flavor, a texture that takes some getting used to), and the "roe" was yummy. The only thing she and I didn't like was the fake raw meats-- again, it's not a flavor issue, but a texture issue, and these were too weird for me to get used to. :-) All in all-- a lot of fun, though and I think when you buy Popin Cooking (and Kracie) treats, you have to know what to expect. They are more fun than delicious.

I thought this was an overall very nice kit. I am extremely pleased with the excellent customer service, which was very clear and informative on what do about a delivery problem I stumbled on. I was emailed twice, both very detailed and gave me all my answers. As for the kit itself, it is wonderful. My dad didn't really like it, but me and my mom did! We love grape, so this was good for us. The rice was good, tasted like a mix of cotton candy and grape. The fish part was like grape gummy, yum! The fish egg candies tastes like grape, too. The soy sauce was sweet and tasted like grape soda. All flavors combined nicely and had a light, nice mild flavor. I had a blast making this kit and have already ordered the Ramen kit to do next! I love Kracie Popin' Cookin! I would not hesitate at all to say that I definitely recommend this product to anyone! Very cute and tasty candy, and so much fun to make!!

It was really cute and fun to do! The only downside was that the directions were not in English, but translated directions were easy to find on my phone. The packets of powder are color-coded, so it wasn't hard to figure out. It makes 3-4 pieces of candy sushi. Making the faux salmon eggs was really cool, the fluffy rice tasted like cotton candy, and the textured mixing tray left indentations to make the pink and yellow gelatin look like tuna and egg ingredients! The seaweed wrapper was eh, but the soda-tasting soy sauce was a great touch. The process was a little more complex than I expected, but it was fun (like a silly no-pressure science experiment) and resulted in great bonding time with my little sister. The salmon roe was her favorite part: you mix two liquids, then use the dropper to drop orange droplets into the clear liquid to make little fruity spheres that pop in your mouth! The best part? All it needs is water! No ice water, no heat, just pain old room temp water. 10/10 would buy again ^^

This was a lot of fun to make with my little brother. It was actually quite tasty BUT the "rice" has an extremely weird and off putting texture. It's a very small gummy making set, but fun to do with younger kids. Oh and do pay attention to the quantity of water you use to make the "salmon" and "egg roll" add too much, it will soft set and fall apart on you. the instructions are in Japanese seeing as this is Japanese imported candy, but there are helpful pictures that show a clear picture of what to do if you can't read it and there is always YouTube vids to help you grasp a clearer understanding of the instructions if Japanese happens to fail to be in your repertoire. My brother didn't care for it much but I thought it was cute and tasty. Downside: it seriously doesn't come with much, so it's a tad too pricey for my liking.

I love all the poppin cookin kits and have been buying them for years. This one is my favorite. It's just a little fun treat to every once in a while.

I, like many others, ordered this wonderful product after seeing it featured in RRcherrypie's Youtube videos. The minute it came in the mail I just had to sit down and put it together. Everything was pretty easy to construct and assemble, but what really made me glad I ordered this was the process of making the fish eggs. As I'm not terribly familiar with the territory, some of my fish eggs came out looking a little bit long or deformed, but once I put them on top of the rice they looked and smelled great! Overall this was a really fun product and everything tasted great, save for the rice, which smelled a lot better -- it had some sort of odd salty aftertaste I'm not sure was intentional. Regardless, I'd give this product five stars just for the fun of making it and putting it together - you definitely won't regret buying this one.

I loved this DIY kit, I didn't make it as nicely as the videos, box, or anything, but it was super fun to make! Should be noted all the candy is in grape flavor in this kit, and I don't like grape flavored candy, but my mom loved to eat my sloppy made DIY kit candy! It's a bit messy but not too bad, i'd still recommend putting paper towels underneath the tray as you're stirring and making your candy! It does have a weird texture when you eat it, but it's also from another country, an exotic twist on grape flavored candy, and it's probably closer to the tastes of japanese candy in general, so don't buy it expecting it to taste how it would if the product originated from your country. The texture will be exotic, and you probably won't be prepared for it. It's a nice little culture ride though, searching for the youtube videos of how to make the candy, excited when you see something fun came in the mail from Japan even! It came in super fast too, wasn't estimated till August 28th - September 17th (or around those dates) and mine came in on August 7th! Jeez that's quick~

Facile à faire une fois qu on a vu le tuto sur YouTube (pas besoin du son, la vidéo suffit). J'ai fait d'autres packs de bonbons de cette marque, c'est cette boîte la plus ludique. Résultat final bof au visuel mais ça nous a occupé 45mn et ma fille a adoré les faire et les manger, même si goût très chimique. A partir de 4 ans minimum avec l aide d'un grand. Reçu en seulement une semaine

This kit has no english instructions but you can find them online using a QR code on the box. It's a bit hidden, but it's there. The candy works exactly as suggested and turned out great. Making the salmon roe was worth the price alone. So fun. I wish they explained how it works for a science element! The taste is not great, mostly because the rice is banana flavour, and that's not to my liking.

Juego creativo, divertido y delicioso. No entiendo cómo ha tardado tanto en llegar a España. Aunque las instrucciones vengan en japonés el juego es muy intuitivo y si no siempre se puede ver un tutorial en Youtube

Ich habe das Sushi-DIY-Set für meine beiden Schwestern als Geschenk bestellt. Leider gab es Verzögerungen bei der Lieferung. Aber darüber kann ich hinweg sehen. Immerhin befinden wir uns in der Vorweihnachtszeit und das Produkt kam direkt aus Japan. Die Zubereitung mit den verschiedenen Pülverchen hat viel Spaß gemacht und das Ergebnis war ebenfalls überraschend positiv. ;) Laut einigen Vorrednern nicht genießbar, aber wir mochten es. Der Geschmack ist zwar etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig (und auch die spezielle Konsistenz) aber gerade das war das Interessante daran - mal was anderes! Meine Schwestern waren komplett begeistert und auch ich hatte Spaß beim Helfen und Zuschauen. Ich würde das Set auf jeden Fall wieder kaufen.
