Performance Tool W41034 1/2 Ton (1,000 lbs.) Capacity Universal Engine Lift Plate , Gold

I usually do not like lift plates but this one I've learned to trust. It's very solid, the welds are well done, and the variety of holes on the plate (and for the hook) allow it to work on pretty much anything. No problems lifting engine + trans. Would recommend doubling or even tripling up the nuts on the carb studs for safety, and a drop chain is always a good idea if you're not sure how deep the studs go or are working with an aluminum intake. One negative comment, due to all the holes in the plate stuff can fall into the intake with the plate on. I usually press a piece of paper onto the carb studs that goes under the plate to keep junk out, but some tape etc would work just as well. It's a pretty mild complaint, but one to keep in mind,

Works good. Only draw back is on an ls its too wide to have with the heads on otherwise its good.

The thickness is probably minimal, and welds are about enough for weight stated on website in my opinion but will be added a little more welding and using large washers under bolts to be sure. Since I have that ability is why it was well worth the money I paid.

Works great

I used this to install a 4bbl 383 big block Mopar. Honestly was a bit nervous at first though it worked great and will keep it for years to come to use with other projects. Metal is thick, welds look clean and the finish should keep it looking nice for a long time.

I used this to pull a Ford 460 EFI motor and it handled the heavy weight well. The bolt pattern didn't allow for four bolts to be used, but I could get two bolts in diagonally, which supported the weight just fine. It was a little sketchy, but ended up working out alright. I'd rather have a plate that allowed me to use all four bolt holes. If a Ford 460 EFI motor is your application, I can only half-heartedly recommend this, but fitment issues aside, this is a great product for the money.

This plate is excellent thank you, your universal mounting as outlined is perfect (it fit my Pontiac 400 Spread Bore) with factory original intake and my (455 Edelbrock Torker (1st gen)1972) square bore intake. It has 8 bolts lifting holes needed for my application (Quadra Jet mounting) and (Edelbrock mounting hole were used). Allow 8 bolts for lifting instead of 4 blots holes. (I also use a safety chain) across the intake (just encase) the intake bolts lift underweight of engine. Can never be too safe and to allow protection from engine drop onto a hard floor or a Leg/Foot.
