Will the Canon allow generic ink cartridges or have they joined HP in chasing off previous loyal customers?

It accepts generic. However. It just ruined my printhead. Inferior ink Clogged up and no amount of cleaning could revive!! Either $130 new print head or new printer.

Does the printer come with the ink cartridges?

It comes with ink cartridges but not very full. I still haven't put another in yet but I will have to soon. I don't print that much.

Can you print 100lb cardstock?

I bought it, but it was returned. As everything is electronic, I had problems with the paper tray. It showed jammed paper, and I did not have any paper loaded. It was returned, because it gave me the wrong message in the menu panel and I could not make it work. I s as m so sorry.
