ViscoSoft 2 Inch Memory Foam Mattress Topper King - Select High Density Ventilated Mattress Pad - Premium Removable Rayon Cover

So far this has fit the bill on what I was searching for. It appears to be of good quality and it is exceptionally very comfortable. I got the Queen size and I'm loving it, feels like luxury. It is high density, heavy, and it is a medium firm plushy feel. You don't feel yourself sinking into it when you roll over, and aren't trying to climb out of a deep hole either, easy roll over. I do have a super firm bed from Bowles Mattress, the HD one that you can flip over and use both sides and I wanted to build upon it to my liking. Started with a firm latex thinking that would do but it didn't have enough cush feel like a cloud, so I got this and put on top of that and now I'm in heaven. So far no aches or pains in my lower back or anywhere. I also have a medium firm cloud temperpedic bed which is so comfortable when you go to sleep in it, but I would wake up in PAIN in my lower back, so that led me to this bed I have now. This is a 2 thumbs up mattress topper for me so far!! (Just wanted to also add, that this doesn't have an odor, it doesn't slip around on my bed and it doesn't sleep hot either like my Temperpedic Cloud does. If I could give this topper more stars instead of just 5 I would!! Thank you very much to the company that makes this (don't change a thing) and to Amazon for making it available to us!!!) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TOPPER!!! {UPDATE- March 2021} - Mattress topper is still holding up great, still very comfy. I am still very happy with this purchase whenever this topper does wear out, I will definitely be buying another for sure! I should get a discount for all the good reviews I give them, you'd think, but whatever, I do love this topper though and like helping people when I know something is a good product. I appreciate seeing people share their opinions of products, as long as it's "HONEST", it's very helpful.

I have been looking for a mattress topper suitable for plus size side-sleepers for a while now. I did quite a bit of research before landing on this specific topper. My mattress is very cheap and springy, so I was looking for something that would conceal those properties as well as support my figure properly and alleviate pressure from my back and hips. I knew after the first night of sleeping on this that I had made the right choice. I considered cheaping out and choosing something lower quality (I’m broke), but I chose to invest in my health and comfort and boy am I grateful I did. I wanted to wait until I had slept on this topper for at least a few weeks before writing this review. My thoughts have not changed at all. This mattress topper is clearly very high quality. The assembly was very easy. I got the Twin size (3”) and it seemed ready to sleep on the second I finished assembling it and making my bed. Actually, I DID sleep on it as soon as I finished putting it together…and woke up hours later covered in drool. Yeah, this thing is the real deal. I’m so pleased with the performance of this topper. It fits my twin mattress perfectly and doesn’t give you that weird feeling of “you’re gonna fall off” when you sleep on the edge of it (like some air mattresses do). It also looks really nice and elegant. The topper itself is super soft, so if you were to just throw some sheets directly on top of it, it would probably feel heavenly. I want this thing to last, so I put it on under my mattress protector. It is still insanely comfortable. It supports my frame perfectly. I attribute some of that to my having an extra firm (and springy) mattress underneath, but this mattress topper definitely carries the comfy score 100%. I would wake up with terrible pain in my hips if I slept in my bed for more than 10 hours. I don’t experience that with this mattress topper. One of the biggest highlights for me is the potential for back sleeping. I avoid sleeping on my back because I ALWAYS experience nightmares/sleep paralysis when I do. I’ve gone to sleep on my side with this topper and woken up on my back in the morning - and I was not awoken by nightmares. Don’t ask me for a scientific explanation on that because I don’t have one. All I can say is that this mattress topper is awesome in numerous ways. Overall: I would highly recommend this topper for everyone, especially plus size folk like myself. It has been wonderful for both side and back sleeping. I can’t say much for tummy sleepers, but that’s not great for your health anyway, so I’m not gonna try it. I almost wish I could go back in time to before I bough this so I could experience the bliss of sleeping on it for the first time. Do yourself and your body a favor - don’t cheap out. Get the good mattress topper for the extra however many dollars. Your body and brain will thank you.

I was needing a new mattress topper for our older extra-firm mattress, because I was waking up several times during the night with hip and back pain. Most nights I'd wake up at 3 am in so much pain, I'd just give up and go sleep on the living room couch. My husband was also only getting about 6 hours of sleep a night. We thought maybe these sleep issues were the result of our advancing age. I read several articles about the best mattress toppers for 2024, and the Viscosoft toppers were regularly mentioned, I read all of the positive reviews, and decided to try the 4 inch Select High Density topper. When the topper arrived a couple of days later, we unboxed it and laid it out flat on top of our mattress so it could expand. There were a lot of areas that had creases and were bunched up at first, but as the mattress top expanded to the full 4 inches it flattened out and became uniformly smooth. It seemed a little soft/squishy to the touch, so I was afraid it would be too soft. I was surprised when I laid down on it that first night, because it actually felt very firm, so then I was afraid it would be too firm. The interesting thing that I noticed was that the mattress topper totally conformed to my lower back, fully supporting it, but at the same time I didn't feel like I was sinking down into it. I could roll over with ease, something that I couldn't do with my previous mattress topper. The real test was seeing how well both my husband and I slept that night. Instead of waking up 5 or 6 times and struggling to go back to sleep, I woke up once (only to use the bathroom). When I returned to bed, instead of taking a full hour to go back to sleep, I was asleep within a minute. My hip and my back were not hurting. My husband also only woke up once during the night to use the bathroom, and he too immediately went back to sleep. He slept 8 1/2 hours. He hasn't done that in years. I slept 9, something I also hadn't done in years. We both woke up with more energy and felt great! The next morning, we couldn't wait to tell each other how well we had slept. Another interesting observation was that we didn't get hot at all during the night like we have with other memory foam mattress toppers. There is a slight odor when you first open the box and lay the topper out to expand, but it eventually dissipates. If you are suffering from aches and pains during the night, and haven't gotten a good night's sleep in ages, don't assume that it is just because you are getting older. Try this mattress topper. It has made a tremendous difference in our sleep quality.

If your current mattress is wearing down or if you want to add memory foam features without buying a new mattress, this is a good choice. It is “firm soft” and provides robust cushioning while also conforming to your body. As a runner, I’d say it feels rather like a comfy cushioned running shoe for your whole body. As with all memory foam, it insulates well which means you’ll be sleeping warmer than with other materials. It’s not extreme but worth considering if you prefer to sleep cooler.

Years ago bought a memory foam bed. It took some time to adjust to that. Since then I added another layer and it worked okay. Was getting some back issues and thought I should see if it's that extra layer. Found this one after spending some time reading reviews and comparing others. I ended up buying this one and wow! it really is nice. I wish I had known about this one when I made my bed purchase years ago. Comfort is truly like a cloud. You just sink right in and it has helped with my back problem, not 100% but very close to it. Adding it to the bed is fairly simple, just air it out for a couple days, fluff it a bit every now and then while it is airing out. The straps are adjustable which is nice and did come in handy. I haven't noticed any change in temperature so that is a plus. Could be because I already sleep on a memory foam bed. The mattress cover is zippered if you need to remove it and wash it, that is also a plus. Overall quality far exceeds my expectations. Total cloud like comfort and easy to use. What else could be said about a mattress topper? 5 stars!

This mattress topper is totally changing my sleep for the absolute better! We have been sleeping on a very firm latex mattress that we got probably a decade ago. My husband and I prefer firm mattresses but it was starting to feel unsupportive. Lots of aches and pains! Decided to try a mattress topper before buying a new mattress. I believe this was described somewhere as a firm topper. To me it isn't firm, because you do sink into it a bit when you are on top, but it is supremely supportive! It feels like a hug. It erased my back pain by night 2 of sleeping on it, I couldn't believe it. I purchased the 4 inch topper because it could get to me quicker. I'm really glad I got that thickness. I'm sure 3 inches would have been fine, but I think 2 inches would not have made a significant difference. This fit perfectly on top of our king size bed and our sheets made for deep mattresses also fit perfectly. We slept on it the first night. There was a very slight odor, but not bad or nothing that kept us from sleeping on it. So far this seems like a very very high quality mattress topper that I hope we can use for a few years! All I know is that I was very sore before I started sleeping on this and now I'm not. Sold!

It is comfortable, yet supportive, to sleep on and body heat dissipates so you don't wake up roasting. The topper is substantial, so it isn't slipping around on your mattress, and it also has corner straps to help keep it in place.

I bought this 3" model based on the Wirecutter review. Specifically that the 3" model was best for most people. That is wrong. This option ended up being too thick for me and I couldn't feel the mattress at all. I never had any pain after waking up, but I felt really sleepy in the morning, like I didn't get enough sleep. I think it was due to how much effort it takes to change position and I was being roused every time I changed sleeping position. This Amazon listing doesn't have enough information to make an informed choice on which topper thickness to choose. It's better to go to the ViscoSoft website and read the product information there, because they explain the difference very clearly. Wirecutter was wrong to recommend this thickness for most people. Buying this really caused a lot of problems for me. I regret taking it out of the packaging. The topper is as they say "high density", meaning that it will compress after a few seconds vs immediately reacting, and it pushes back against the body. I think the 3" inch is better for people who weigh, maybe 160-165lbs or more, or who have issues with their joints or body aches and need to be cradled. It's also kind of hot. My bedroom also tends to be overly warm due to the radiator. I can crack the window, but one night I forgot and it too hot to sleep. I was being swallowed up by the topper. Based on my interactions with the company, I recommend ViscoSoft as a brand, but I do not suggest the 3" model is best for most people. I suggest if you're looking for a topper, go to their website and read about it yourself. Or explore their other products, because they have others and some of them are cheaper. If I had gotten the 2" model, maybe I would be able to recommend it for providing just enough comfort and not being so hot. Yeah, I really regret following their advice and this purchase. Production wise, I had no issues with the manufacturing, the size/fit, and it expanded as it should have. It has a nice front and back cover. I don't think the straps are necessary but they are a nice touch. It does have a little bit of a funny smell, but it will probably go away if you use it regularly.

Does the job, my mattress is horrible. From Ikea. improved my sleep a lot.

I was contemplating replacing my mattress - it was not helping with my lower back issues- but I came across the idea of using a mattress topper - news to me! And this one came up in the various reviews I looked at. I’m really happy I got this as it’s improved my sleep, much better on my back, comfortable and eliminated the need to replace my mattress!

Arrived very quickly, easy to unpack. I needed a twin size for our king bed as my husband didn't want anything on his side but I needed more padding for my shoulder and hip. I no longer have any joint pain while sleeping. good quality.
