Really nice piece of kit!
This is my 3rd or 4th FitBit, I started with the original! My Blaze, was nearly three years old when it really wasn't holding a charge. I have a heart condition and use it to track my heart 24 /7, and it is pretty darn good! This is unlike the Blaze. This is like the limo of FitBits. Very impressed. If you have trouble with apps and setting tech up - this might not be the easiest to handle. I am playing with it, trying this and that - and because I am, battery life is short. BUT, once I stop playing with all the apps(just checking to see what they are like) - and set it up, I am sure the battery will last quite well. I like being able to uninstall some of the apps that came on it, and the ability to try an app and uninstall if it isn't what I want. I think that future FitBits will be really amazing - if this unit is anything to go by. Love it. Love the ability to change clocks, to add or remove apps, and to be able to have a variety of straps to use with it. Give it a chance, take it slow - and then you will see the magic! ** The strap which came with the Versa 2, was a tad stiff. So, I decided to soak it to see if it would soften up, BUT in the mean time, I tried my leather strap from my Blaze, and surprise - all of my Blaze straps fit the Versa 2!

Attractive, comfortable lightweight watch with great features.
I wanted to replace my long standing watch with a more up to date version and features to allow me to check my health and sleep pattern. I am glad I chose the fitbit versa 2 option as I am very happy so far with its performance. Firstly in terms of size and fit, it has a small face compared to others measuring sone 40mm (l) x 40mm (w). It definitely is lightweight and comfortable on especially as I sleep with it on. The watch weighs some 35g. The strap is fabric and patterned grey/black, it comes with a spare strap and also an alternative plastic (green) set which hopefully will mean I can replace in future if the strap wears. I thought this was a generous option from the supplier and is welcome. Now back to the set-up and features of this watch. I found it easy to set-up downloading the fitbit app and also syncing my specific apps such as WhatsApp and emails. I get my messages displayed and I find this very useful especially if I am out and about (saving having to get out phone etc.). I also found the fitbit app great with useful health information that helps me stay focussed and interested in my overall performance. I look at the app every few days see my sleep pattern, heart rate and also see how this changes when I have been out on my bike or to the gym. It seems to track things well and I am happy with the overall ease of how to use it. You have many options to change watch face etc. on the app but I am happy with the generic one which easily displays the information I am interested in. To conclude this watch is easy to use, smart, comfortable to wear and hence I am giving the full 5 star rating.

Great device - full stop
I've been a fan of Fitbit for many years - since the simple five heart view on a belt device. This device does everything with bells on. It might not be the top of the range, they are still a bit pricey for me, but the Versa 2 does everything I need. Counts steps, heart rate, O2 levels and HRV and number of breaths at night. You can customise the clock face and add apps. Yes, most are primarily fitness related, but you can get music via Spotify and when it arrives in the UK, payment from the device. There's a weather app too. I anticipate that more apps will arrive including Google related as Google bought them out earlier this year. Funny that the voice Assistant is Alexa - I'm guessing, but that is probably a contractual thing and Google assistant will arrive on it in the future. Anyway, I can't fault it.

Love it, but has some short comings
Pre-ordered this and delivery was on time. In the box you get the watch, charger, and some straps. There's also an instruction pamphlet, but it's pretty basic. To get started properly you need to download the Fitbit app, after which the app will take you through the installation process. Be warned that there will most likely be a firmware update to go through first, so you need to have the Fitbit on charge. So the charging cable is a custom USB cable purely for the Fitbit. An industry standard cable would have been better - just one less cable to manage. The watch is easy to use. I suggest buying a custom clock face (you can do this via the app. The custom clock faces provide a lot more info). There's a lot of customisation you can do. I have the display set to off, and the watch will switch on the display if you make the action with your wrist to look at the watch (not 100% perfect though). Battery life looks to be very good. I've used the watch extensively for a 24 hour period so far, and the battery is at 84%. Edit: the battery life is awesome. I charge it once a week, even then I reckon I could get a couple more days out of the existing charge. The biggest negative for me is that the watch can sense when your exercising and start to log the activity. Only problem is that is works for some exercise types only e.g. it didn't work for when I did weight training. You do have the option to manually add the activity, or start it via the watch, but given the price of this watch it should log automatically. The other issue I found is with the app. Some clock faces require an activation code. This can only be done via clock face settings in the app, which isn't yet supported for the Versa 2. Edit: this is now fixed. Another issue I found with the app is that it doesn't log a walk properly when using GPS. I stress this is an issue with the app and not watch. What happens is the app starts to log, and then at some random point stops logging using GPS, but still provides the correct statistics, only that according to the GPS part of the stats the walk ended long before it did. I'll update this review as I delve more into the features of this watch. Edit: The watch records your sleeping heart rate, but Fitbit charge a premium for you to see YOUR data. Not impressed. That's one star knocked off

Good smart watch if you are a fitness freak. Nice design good looking. If you have a small to medium wrist than the size is perfect. No gps so if you want to calculate exact you have to run with your phone. Can store songs but sync songs is a time consuming process. But if you are fitness just go for it instead of samsung active or other Design 5/5 Battery 4/5 App 5/5 Tracking 4/5 Comfortability 5/5 Price 3/5

I've switched over from the Galaxy Watch to the Versa 2. I've been using it for a few days and I'm certain that this is the best "dumb" smartwatch on the market right now. What do I mean by "dumb"? I mean if you want your watch to show you notifications, track health and run a few basic apps (like Strava, Uber and Spotify in my case) then this is absolutely superb watch for you. The watch looks beautiful. It's not oversized, and the smoke grey coloured version which I have looks amazing to my eye. You can mix & match any Versa compatible band with this phone. There are more apps available on the Fitbit app store but the variety pales in comparison to the Google UI/Samsung Wearable/Apple Watch app stores. The apps I mainly use are Uber and Spotify. Both need to work through your phone, and can't work without your phone. There is no GPS inbuilt in the watch so when you call for an Uber or go for a run on Strava, you need your phone's GPS connection for the apps to work. Spotify plays music through your phone, but it can be controlled via your phone. Alexa integration on the phone is quite nice - however since there's no mic on the phone you have to read the responses. There are quite a few watch faces available too (several thousasnd), and I'm sure that's only going to increase with time. One thing to note is that you can't have multiple watch faces loaded on your phone and instantly switch between them on the go. Your Versa will save only 1 face at a time and every time you want to change it, it'll need to be done through the Fitbit app on your phone. All notifications come on your phone - WhatsApp/Telegram/Facebook/Twitter/Instagram etc and on the messaging apps you can even reply back to the notification via your phone/Alexa. Of course, you can see who's calling you and answer/decline it. Coming to the main reason most people buy Fitbits - the health aspect. It is unparalleled when compared to the Galaxy Watch. Fitbit's interface for health, constant heartrate tracking, step count are far far better than Samsung's. The Fitbit App on your phone is also far more intuitive and easier to use than the eyesore that is the Samsung Wearable android app. Also there are a whole host of health apps for this watch which I haven't even checked out yet - Fitbit Coach, Gold's Gym AMP and many others. The battery life - 7 to 8 days with constant connection to the phone, all day sync and about an hour's worth of exercise everyday. Do I need to say more? Nothing else on the market even comes close. Final Thoughts: If you're looking for a smartwatch with a focus on health tracking, view (and reply to some) notifications and some basic access to a few apps like Strava/Uber/Spotify, this is a fantastic watch to get. You can't go wrong. Battery life is phenomenal, and the Fitbit app is easier, much easier to use than the Samsungs. There are some limitations to the watch, when it comes to apps available, GPS connecitivity only via the phone and watch face selection. However, personally, even with my Galaxy Watch I found myself not using all the apps (seriously, why would I ever want to watch Youtube on my watch?). 9.5 out of 10 for me.
