Rags worked great gor my trip. My brother and I put them in an ice chest and the rags became hard as rocks... sooo don't do that. But they really do work well for heat and I kept mine primarily on my neck and noticed a big difference. Great for the price.

My wife and I recently moved to southwest Florida, and have been acquainted with "real" summer heat & humidity! I picked up a cool towel for those hot days on the golf course and it is definitely a must-have!! I keep it in the cooler, wring it out a bit and then drape it over my head or around my neck when I need to cool off! It's become as important as staying hydrated now.

This is actually NOT the product I thought that I'd be getting as I had a "cooling scarf" before but have misplaced it or lost it and it was one continuous circle of nylon-like material which was pretty much used the same way as this one I received but which I much preferred as it could be left hanging around my neck and wouldn't fall off as this one could. They both got immersed in water then wrung out and used on your head, around your neck or on your head AND around your neck, over your face and in a variety of other creative, cooling ways and that's the one I thought I was buying but no such luck so these two are being returned as they're just rectangles of absorbent material which one shapes into whatever use is deemed necessary!

I don't like the newer large size. Too think when folded around my neck. I was going to return. I prefer the old 6x27" size. So I cancelled the return and solved it by cutting it in half lengthwise. Now I have two from the original company and a nice green!

I'm into long distance running and I live in California. During this summer, midday temperatures were in the 100s and sometimes I wouldn't get out the door running until the sun was high. These towels are absolute life savers! It stayed cold even in the sunshine and when it would start to dry out on a longer run, I just dripped a little water on it from my water bottle and had instant relief from the heat! I can tell you from experience that there's nothing like the feeling of this cold towel draped across your bare back after a long run or workout routine! It's also amazingly absorbent and I tend to sweat a lot when I run. It was awesome to be able to wipe my brow before the salty sweat ran into my eyes.
