My Jeep Cherokee XJ 4.0 oil pressure sender failed 4 years ago, so I ordered a replacement from Amazon. The Standard brand replacement never worked, but instead of returning it I figured there was something else wrong with my sensor tap being plugged or a problem in the wiring ~ 2 sensor failures back to back?? Well after continuity checks on all the wiring between the sender and the PCM, I still could not find any problems. This year I vowed to get the problem repaired, and/or install a 2nd oil pressure gauge on the dashboard so I could track the oil pressure. So, I ordered this Yaopei oil pressure sender plus a complete oil pressure gauge kit with sender. I first installed the Yaopei sensor and gave it a try, and my oil pressure came right up to 55 psi, just where it should have been. I took the Jeep out for a half hour spin and the oil pressure read perfectly, dropping to 30 psi idling in the driveway with the engine oil up to full operating temperature. I'll keep the back up oil pressure gauge and kit in standby, as the Yaopei sender is working perfectly ~ I just wish I would have found it years ago.

If you have a 2007 Dodge Ram don't waste your money. I am not sure if the manufacturers of these types of devices know they won't work with at least some of the vehicle's On-Board Computers or not. What I can tell you is that this is the second after market Oil Pressure sending unit / switch I purchased and neither worked on a Dodge Ram 1500 with a 5.7L Hemi. I have had this problem for over a year now, but because it didn't really affect the operation of my truck, I have just been tinkering with it. Reading Dodge forums, researching, etc. Today I had enough. I took my truck to the local IGB Dodge dealer and worked with a great Service Advisor named Chris. He was the most helpful SA I have worked with in a long time, very helpful. They reflashed the on-board computer and downloaded any updates. Then ran a diagnostics check for me at a cost of ~$190 for both services. They said they cleared the low Oil pressure code but a new code that said it had the wrong oil type came up. That was just not so. The SA ask me if the Sending unit I replaced was Aftermarket or OEM, it was aftermarket. He said that a lot of aftermarket sending units do not communicate correctly with the on-board computer. He advised to install an OEM sending Unit. Long story short, the OEM sending unit fixed the problem and all codes cleared. The OEM unit was $93.99 the aftermarket unit I purchase on Amazon was $12.99, that should tell you all you need to know. There is no free lunch, you get what you pay for. Buying this aftermarket sending unit that said it would work on my Truck, but did not, cost me a lot of grief and wasted time. It won't happen again.

this oil pressure sensor sadly was for the bigger engine and i missed that when i ordered it. same threads but different plug in to the harness. was my mistake and it was past the time to return it when i went to install it. but i cant take away from the product for my mess up. looked like wouldve worked just fine for the bigger jeep engine.
