I had read mixed reviews on this globe but took a chance and ordered one and I couldn't be more pleased with it. Letting that statement speak for itself, I will point out a couple of very minor imperfections which may help others to make their own purchasing decision. There was a packing error or lack of quality control in that one of the three wooden legs which support the globe was not bubble wrapped as the other two were. This allow the unprotected leg either during packaging or in shipment to become marred and damage the stain. This was easily remedied oiling and rubbing out the marring and using a bit of shoe polish to match the color of the wood stain. In other reviews I had read comments that folks received their globes with some of the map seams not being correctly aligned and while I believe this to be virtually a given on even the best globes the imperfections in mine are very difficult to spot on even careful examination let alone during normal use of the globe. The most blatant example on mine would be that at the location of New Caledonia, the word Caledonia is creased from 9 o'clock thru 3 o'clock partially obscuring the lower half of the lettering. To me this is a very nit picky observation, is not repeated elsewhere on the globe and in no way will limit my enjoyment in owning this beautiful globe. I mention it only to guide others in their own choice to purchase. These globes are not inexpensive but at least in my own experience are well worth the investment. A final note, I had my globe forwarded from the USA to my home in Thailand. The environment here is very humid and I will be watching the globe ball very closely for any swelling or delamination over time. Whilst I do not expect any, should any actually occur, I will revisit this review with an update. 3/27/2025 Update: I have owned my globe for over 3 years now and am writing this update to say that even in the hot & high humidity environment I live in, the globe ball has held up very well. I reckon folks in the south east and likely in the south west too can safely purchase this globe and expect it to stand up well to their respective environments.

This is, as it turnsd out, a very nice globe! Its pretty solid when fully deployed, and the globe is well made and no mismatched seams. Overall, I really like it and it looks very nice in the living room! But then is a NatGeo product, so of course its good! <sigh>Now if it only played the NatGeo theme music when it turns... :) (kidding!)

Beautiful piece though the actual material/paper? Use for the globe itself feels to be on the cheap side like it could get wet and deteriorate quickly but from standing far, it’s beautiful just beautiful.

The Eaton III is a guietly stunning, sophisticated globe that I think anyone would be proud to own, and well worth the price. It fits in beautifully wherever you wish to display it, and You will never tire of having it handy.

When the globe arrived it was missing the legs (stand). I left a comment for the seller and they immediately responded and sent the missing part. Good after the sale service!!

Very pricey but worth it. It definitely is the center of attention in my study room. My Mum loves studying it & recounting her previous travels abroad. The land masses protrude alittle to signify mountainous areas. The quality is exceptional. The colour appears to be brownish, yellowish, vintage. You’ll fall in love with it.

My sister recently added a new sunroom to her home. I wanted to give her a distinctive piece to accent the room. I purchased the Globe and had it shipped to her. She called to advised she loved it, everything about it. She advised it was simple to put together, that the product was very high quality. It so worked in the room. A bit on the pricy side, however, hearing how satisfied she was I was glad I got it for her.

I did not like it that the box was damaged.

Bought this for my wife's birthday as she was always jealous when we went to friends places and they had a globe. Of course I had to one up them and this one does that. Beautifully made and easy to read unlike the ones that try to put too much information on them. Packing seemed a little lacking but the courier must have been gentle so it arrived with no issues.
