Juices great, commercial grade, so easy to clean!
Little concerned buying due to the price, I worked at a lemonade stand in high school and we used commercial presses. This one is very close if not the same. I have used it a ton in only a month, works amazing, pomegranate and orange oohee. Does the job with only elbow grease. Very easy cleanup, only thing I noticed is the bolts seem to loosen up, I haven't tightened them but it gets a little cock eyes when they are loose. Pretty sure tightening will bring the clearance back but it's nice.

Except for the head bonking - we really love it.
Okay, so we are having way too much fun with this presser. We did pomegranates in December, Lemon's in January and are working on the orange tree as we speak. This is sooooo much easier than our electric one was. One and only issue is that when the handle comes down when the unit is empty you better make sure your head is not in the way. When you clean it you have to have the handle up and it you don't watch it, it can come down pretty hard. I did it twice - you'd think I would learn the first time - and ended up with quite a conk on the head. Just saying that the lever does not stay up unassisted. It's built like a tank and does the fruit in no time at all. We really love it.

Worth the money!!!
Great product! Heavy duty and easy to clean. Larger fruits were a bit of a challenge. Not sure if it would work for grapefruit. Great for lemons and limes and small oranges.

It has some issues but I'm really happy with my juice press.
I'm really happy with this juice press. I bought this one specifically because it said it could be used on pomegranates, and I bought the used/repackaged one because a scratch or blemish seems inconsequential on something made out of solid cast iron. The unit I received was easy to put together. The funnel and the lower press cone are keyed so there is only one way the parts can be put together into the cast iron base. Everything else was already assembled. The funnel and press cones are made of thick stainless steel and are very sturdy. When I operated the the lever I found that the entire top assembly was loose on the stand pole. It was easily fixed by tightening a single screw with a hex key. I think that given the weight of the base and top assembly, the unit should have been shipped with the top disassembled from the base. The press made quick and easy work of oranges. It is so easy to use and clean that I will be able to pick oranges from the tree and make a single glass of orange juice if I want. For pomegranates, it was a little harder to use. The flesh of the pomegranate is much thicker than the orange peel and retains it's hemispherical shape even in the press. So because the press is cone shaped, only the seeds in the middle get squished into juice and the seeds on the outside just pop out. I think it would be better for pomegranates if a hemispherical press insert could be used. Also, the pomegranates needed a lot of force on the lever, and after the sixth half, the top screw started working loose. Even still, this beats the push and twist hand type juicer any day for pomegranates. With the twisty type juicers, bits of the rind and seed pits fall into the juice and make it bitter. With this, only juice falls out of the press and it tastes much sweeter. Finally, one last negative is that the black rubber used on the handle has an awful smell. It smells like recycled tire rubber.. So really, there were three negatives: 1)the loose top screw, 2)doesn't work as well on pomegranates as I expected, and 3) the yucky rubber smell. But even still, I could only take one star off because now I can easily make a glass of orange juice whenever I have ripe oranges on the tree.

Lemonade!
I bought this a few weeks ago and have used it nearly everyday. We mainly use it to squeeze lemons for lemonade. I like to make it with organic sugar instead of buying the concentrate in the cans and my kids like it a bit more tart than we can find in the store. It works great with little effort. The only issue I have with it is that sometimes when the lever is all the way up it doesn't hold there and will come smashing down. It scares you the first time this happens and we have learned not to leave it in the up position. It would be bad if someones fingers were under it when that happened. Sometimes when the lemons are harder you have to press harder and the press scoots on the table. I usually hold the handle with one hand and the back of the press with another and that takes care of the shifting. It's easy to clean and has a minimal footprint on the counter.

Colossal waist of money and produce, If I could give it zero stars I would.
I purchased this juicer based on all of the great reviews, but I could not be more disappointed. I was really excited to juice the apples and peaches from my trees this summer, but it only turned out to be a frustrating experience. The juicer itself arrived in a flimsy box with only a little styrofoam padding on the inside bottom of the box. The box arrived completely beat up with several holes from where the juicer had banged around from the inside (See pictures). I am new to this kind of juicing and was hoping that there would be instructions or tips, or at least an explanation of the parts, but there wasn't a single paper inside. Luckily it is pretty self explanatory, and I easily figured it out. Now for the juicer. It can fit half of an apple at one time, so the process to get a cup of apple juice took a really long time. Granted my apples weren't as juicy as I had hoped, but it still took about 20 apples to get a single glass of fresh apple juice. It was hard to get good leverage to pull the handle down while juicing on a standard sized counter. I am 5 foot 5 inches, and would recommend doing it on a shorter table if possible. Also, the base needs to be weighted or wider, because the whole thing tips forward when you pull the handle down. To prevent this, one hand needs to hold the back down, while the other pulls the lever down. That was a pain, but not that big of a deal. When I juiced my peaches, I got far less juice out than expected. After only 1-2 peaches the pulp blocks the holes, so the juice can't go through (see picture). I tried moving it around to allow the juice to fall through, but that didn't work. I had to just wash it out after every few peaches. Several times the pulp spilled up over the sides when I pulled the lever down (see picture). Also, several times juice quirted out of the top and onto the floor as I was pulling the lever down. This just ended up making a sticky mess. Also, I had to clean out the top inside lid part of the juicer because a lot of fruit would get stuck up there (see picture.) I also found when the lever is pulled down, there is a gap between the top portion and the bottom. So if the piece of fruit is small or more flat, it wouldn't get squished or juiced at all. This was a problem several times and I ended up just having to squeeze those pieces by hand. I also ended up re-squeezing by hand pieces that I had already juiced, because I noticed that there was still a lot more juice in them. The only good things that I can say about the juicer is that it is high quality and very durable looking. It felt very sturdy and like it would last for a long time. It is also easy to clean out and wipe down. Those things don't matter much in the long run when it's horrible at its actual purpose- juicing. I Plan to return this juicer and don't recommend it to anyone. Like I said though, I am new to the juicing world, so maybe these frustrations just come with the territory. I still hope to find one that doesn't have all of these issues though.

short cups rather tippy
the height from foot to funnel is shrt small cups only and not wide either. the mechanism is smooth and does a great job extracting juice but the base needs to be held as it is neither wide enough or heavy enough. in short its a great juicer just some real problems with the stand

Buy it.
Heavy Duty. It can be disassembled if need be. I had no trouble with anything even coming close to breaking, this must be the proper model. If you are unsure how to use one, there are many youtube videos. One thing I stress, you do not need to completely press this thing down to the end. Although I have no problem doing so, when oranges are pressed to the end I often get the sour rind in the juice. Only press so far as to get the juice out. Often I would even quarter the fruit to make things easier. This thing works and it works well. My life is so much better with fresh oj in the morn.
