I bought this for a long flight to Europe and it worked out perfectly for my back and neck providing just the right amount of support I wanted for each area. First follow the directions on inflation. I did this two days before my scheduled trip. It takes firm pressure to get the air out so it fits back into the mesh case but the elastic band provided to keep it rolled up helps to keep the deflated pillow in shape to fit into the mesh bag. Be sure to close the valave which is so easy you might think it will not work but it absolutely does. When it’s time to use it just unroll open the valave and I blow in just a little air . Close the Val e and see how it feels on the intended area. If it feels too firm or full just untwist the valve and squeeze out a little air. Keep repeating until you get the desired fullness. If you change area from back to neck just use the same process to fill or let out air . I loved that I could get exactly the right amount of fullness that I wanted so I could move the pillow from one location to another. It was so easy to use. Definitely worth the price for the flexibility you get along with ease of transporting in a carry on tote. I also plan to use this on car trips or for sunbathing if I need a little pillow. Cudos on technology that works !

I have had (intermittent) back problems resulting in severe nerve discomfort for over 3 decades. I have used both types of 'classic" back support -- simple inflatable (easiest for travel) and solid foam half cylinders and full cylinders (work best in cars). This product is a truly UNIQUE combination -- it is filled with small fragments of foam that absorbs air and it can be further inflated and sealed if needed. After it is fully broken in as detailed by the manufacturer, I found that just opening the valve and letting the foam pull in all the air that it wanted gave the best result. It has a belt that helps hold it in position while sitting and allows you to get up and walk around with it -- eliminating the risk of walking off without it. To transport the support you just take it off, lay it on a firm surface, squeeze out the air while rolling it up and then close the valve. It is then is a cylinder 11" length, 4" max diameter, tapered at both ends, and fits easily in a backpack, suitcase, or large coat pocket. Yes -- it is a little more expensive. And worth absolutely every penny. P.S. I have NO connection with the manufacturer.

After experiencing an eight hour airport layover, this pillow had good support on my lower back and you can control how much air goes into this back support with a twist control valve. There are many lumbar supports out there but what makes this product unique is that it can be decompressed and rolled into a smaller size for easy carrying onto airplane flights. I recommend this product but I wish that the casing to storage bag was more durable and compact and that the twist valve was made of a durable plastic for longevity.

Perfect size and inflates/deflates easily. I took it with me to sit in the seats at my grandsons graduation. I used on the first leg of my flight—it was perfect for adjustable lumbar support. Sadly, I forgot it on the plane seat when I deplaned. Next time. I will buckle it around me so I don’t lose it! I’m buying another one because it has far more uses than just for flights.

Nice and company shape that inflated to a nice air pillow for lumbar support. It makes sitting for long flights, drives and sitting at a work chair much more bearable. Easy inflation and deflation with the twist valve. Carrying mesh bag makes transport easy. Easily fits into your carry on bag.

A phenomenal lumbar pillow for travel: I have spondylosis anteriolithesis and will have this issue the rest of my life so I am learning how to maintain my active lifestyle while making adjustments, to not further aggravate my back. This pillow is now part of my life. It’s size makes it easily transportable (whether traveling by plane, car, train, restaurants or even using on chairs/ couches that lack support etc.. I have 3 of them . 1 stays in my car, the other attached to my roller bag and one in my husband’s car, so I am never without. The other great thing with this lumbar pillow is that it has an elastic strap that fits on luggage handles and goes over chairs, so it stays in place. It’s also inflatable so you can adjust it to the amount of support you need/want. I hope you find it as helpful as I have.

While I love the overall thoughtful design of this lumbar pillow it is just not comfortable for me. It's really nice to have the waist strap and carry bag. The lumbar pillow I finally chose to go with does not have either of those and I wish it did. When I received this it was very compressed. The instructions indicate to open the air valve and let it restore for 5 - 6 hours. However, that was not enough time. I let it sit for 24 hours before it seemed un-compressed. I like the ability to change the air setting with the valve. But I find the other filling to be poorly designed - it seems to be various size pieces of foam, the foam is very uneven and it causes a very lumpy structure inside with no way to adjust that. Also the foam creates a fairly large dense pillow and even if I leave the air valve open the foam portion of the pillow usually feels like too much lumbar "support" for my small boned body depending on the chair I'm using - pretty much the only time it felt like a good amount was when I tried using it sitting on a bench with a straight hard wall behind it. I chose to return this one.

Love how small it is when you store it. It's pretty comfortable and helps with low back pain when sitting in a crappy office chair.

Product is very good for back support in travel but becomes defective after 2 flights , now air always leaks out

Ideal for travelling on aircraft and tour-bus. Also useful in hotel or at home to support lumbar region. Turn knob to self-expand then tighten knob (so support stays firm when under pressure). Reverse process to compress again for storage. I was recently diagnosed with a Right Lumbar 3/4 protrusion that impinged my right sciatic nerve-root. This is an extremely painful and debilitating condition. The lumbar support is helping my recovery, aided by prescribed exercise programs, plus anti-inflammatory and analgesic medication.
