how do i determine what size? From the tip of my middle finger to wrist 8in and my palm to thumb is 4in.

From speedos websiteSIZING: Measure the width of your palm horizontally.SMALL = 8.0 cmMEDIUM = 8.5 cmLARGE = 9.0-9.5 cmEXTRA LARGE = 10.0-10.5 cm

I am looking at these gloves to give support to my thumb joints as I am unable to grip the weights doing Aqua exercises, are they any good..

These gloves work a bit like a splint in most water exercises, but are too stiff to grip the handholds of most weights. I took a foam pool noodle, cut a couple of lengths from it equal to the length of the handrests, then cut a slot in each so as to slip them over the handrests. Works pretty well if you have weak thumb joints.

Do these gloves have a sun block added? Are they resistance to the sun?

Aquatic Fitness Gloves don't have sun block.Neoprene glove with webbed fingers and rubber palm. Adjustable wrist closure. Flexible webbing for water resistance training. Increases propulsion through the water.

How about the fit for an 8 year old girl?

I don't think they would fit. I would go to a store and try them on her first... The medium is big on me and I am a normal sized woman.
