Not perfect, but close enough
I was a little bit hesitant about buying these after reading a few mixed reviews, but I'm glad that I did. This isn't a perfect product and I do have a couple small complaints, but at this price point I think it's the closest there is in a wireless headset. Pros: - They look amazing. I love this simple, classy aesthetic. This is one of the very few wireless gaming headsets that won't make you look like a nine year-old playing Transformers. I prefer the look with the Corsair logo LEDs turned off, but it looks pretty neat with them turned on as well. - The build quality is real. I got the SE and I love the aluminum frame and finish. It does make for a heavier and slightly less comfortable headset, but after a few weeks of use I feel it's worth the trade-off. - The sound quality is good. Probably not best-in-class, but it does sound good. I installed the iCue software and messed with the equalizer until I had levels where I liked them, and I'm happy with the result. - The mic quality is great. This one possibly is best-in-class if you're ignoring the ModMic Wireless. - Controls are simple and placed in intuitive spots. - Haven't yet had the battery run out in a day. - Good range. I can go anywhere in my apartment and generally keep a signal. Cons: - Definitely not the most comfortable. The fit is good, but they're pretty heavy. Every once in awhile I do notice it hurting on the top of my head after 30-45 minutes of use. It's only certain spots though, I can usually just adjust it a bit and continue on. Maybe I just have a lumpy head. - Despite the good range, the signal does cut out a bit every now and then. Not often or for long enough to be a major issue for me, but it hasn't been perfect. - The headset did crash on me once. I'm not sure what happened, but I couldn't get it to sync back up until I unplugged the USB receiver and plugged it back in. As long as this doesn't start happening more often, I'm not too bothered by it. Overall, I felt that the look, build, and microphone quality were more important to me than the comfort. But that will always come down to personal preference. My HyperX Cloud II's are infinitely more comfortable than these, but I've still come to prefer the Virtuoso for everyday use. If comfort is your top priority, probably give these ones a pass. Otherwise it's really a great headset.

Solid Wireless Headset
PRO: - Great wireless microphone, probably the best of any wireless headset (at least the SE version. I have the standard Virtuoso as well, and the mic is as clear as the SE but doesn't have the same "warmth" or low end.) - Build quality; both the standard Virtuoso and especially the SE feel premium, more so than pretty much any other headset out there. - Flexibility to work wireless, USB, or via a standard audio cable. You can use the audio cable to connect to an external DAC, rather than using the built-in DAC. I've tested this with an Astro Mixamp and it works well, although the mic works best via USB or wireless. - RGB is nicely implemented via Corsair iCUE software, and integrates seamlessly with other Corsair RGB devices. CON: - Ear pads. They are too thin, at least for me. Some reviewers have also complained about them. Well, just replace them lol. I've switched them with thicker ear pads made specifically for Virtuoso headsets, which are available here on Amazon for about $21. Not only are these thicker ear pads more comfortable because your ears don't rub against the inside of the ear cups, but they appreciably improve the bass since they provide a better seal. - Distortion/Crackling. So, I had an issue with the original Virtuoso (the black, and the original white one) where there would be brief periods of distortion or crackling when gaming or listening to tunes. After some troubleshooting I narrowed down the cause to it being mainly an interference issue. If your wireless router is within about 5 feet or so, you will probably experience at least some periods of distortion because the router usually transmits over 2.4GHz and the headset uses those same frequencies when transmitting to its USB dongle, so there can be some destructive interference. Just either physically move away from the router, or move it further away. I sit about 6 feet away from my router and don't have an issue. Also, your PC's own wireless adapter can interfere with the USB dongle because of the same issue. Note that most wireless headsets transmit over 2.4GHz so this a common problem. Some handle it better or worse than others, but if you're sitting right on top of your router its going to be an issue regardless. Some reviewers have mentioned that they sit close to the USB dongle. Again, its not going to matter if you're physically close to your wireless router because that will be causing destructive interference on the 2.4GHz band. Edit - Also, check out the accessory Virtuoso Noise Cancelling mic available (only) from Corsair's website. This works REALLY well and improves the mic quality even over the SE microphone, since neither that mic nor the standard mic have any noise cancelling at all. Corsair also sells an ST100 RGB headset stand that allows you to plug in the USB dongle, which brings it away from the back of your PC and closer to you for slightly better coverage. The stand also has a spare USB port for a mouse or phone charging etc. This is available on Amazon.

Upscale looking, nice build quality and good sound - recommend with a couple caveats
UPDATE (March 2023) AFTER OWNING THEM 2 YEARS: The mic quality is outstanding, and they connect quickly. I have begun having some intermittent audio issues in games / Discord where my outgoing audio apparently gets garbled off / on and this is followed by losing outgoing voice chat audio altogether. I have not found a fix for this (updated drivers, uninstalled / reinstalled software, checked connections etc) and it's quite frustrating. Not sure what I'm going to do about that as I paid $200 for these and I think they should last longer than this. I do also still get a low grade headache after a few hours of wearing them and I have to adjust them regularly to prevent / alleviate that. Lastly, the sound is fine for gaming especially if you set your own EQ settings, but they are not nearly as good as my Meze audio headphones, for instance, so when I want to listen to music, I don't use the Corsairs. * * * * * * * * * * I am a Corsair fan girl, I own a lot of their stuff so although I had been willing to spend $300 on a pair of Bose, I went with these out of loyalty. THE GOOD: These are well built, they charge quickly, the accessories are good quality and the overall look is upscale and not overly "gamer" which I prefer. The little customizable RGB Corsair logo is cool, low key and classy. The sound is pretty good and although I would have preferred more EQ presets, using surround for gaming and stereo for music and making my own EQ profile to my preferences made that a minor issue. I will note that the bass boost isn't super robust, but that'll only bother you if you are into something that has a dominating, door-shaking bass line - you know, the kind where all you can hear is the bass haha. For any other kind of music, you can balance it nicely and they do have a good immersive sound. The noise cancellation isnt total, but better than my older Corsair set and definitely good enough for my taste. I haven't tried the mic yet but Ive read only stellar about that. THE BAD: Others have complained that the ear cups are too small / shallow - this wasn't a problem for me but I have smallish ears and they do not stick out at all, but I can see how others might feel that way. The headband looks padded well enough but it's a little shallow at top (it kind of flattens out) and the result is that the apex point can feel like it's creating pressure after a while. It has actually caused me low-key headache pain after a few hours. If I adjust them when that happens it's fine, but not something I should have to be doing. I have a small head too, so although I had read this criticism in other reviews, I figured it wouldn't be a problem since my old Corsairs are so comfortable. I am getting used to the different fit and it bothers me less every wearing now, but it's not something that should have been a factor at all, and I did seriously consider returning them. I've got about 12 - 15 hours in wearing them but I'm still within 30 days, so I'm giving them the full test, but it's still a slight possibility.) Overall, I would recommend them as long as you give them a good try out to see how your head likes them. haha

Best headset I've owned.
TL:DR over 5 years still working great, super tough durability without rugged feel, mic is awesome, comfortable, amazing value, customizable and adjustable. 5.5 years after I ordered them, I'm on my third set of ear cups getting delivered today, I'm finally having to replace the battery since the life span has dropped to around 4 hours, and they still sound absolutely amazing. I've been pretty rough on them and they just keep going after literally OVER TEN THOUSANDS of hours of use between games and using them for work for the last 5 and a half years. Zero complaints, best headset I've ever owned. The software is better now than it was 5 years ago, too. The microphone is detachable so if you have a yeti, you can easily just pop the mic off. Volume wheel on the right ear cup is very easy to make quick adjustments, ear cups are easy to replace with a quick twist and battery replacement is 4 screws. I own 6 sets if headsets in my home between myself and my family and these are always the ones I use and out of them all, these are the best.

Great in so many ways, flawed in critical areas
**Edit - 2-3 years with this on my head every day 9-12 hours for work and play. Would not recommend these to anyone looking for a premium headset in this price point. iCue ruins the experience, updates cause intermittent issues, software seems to have memory leaks and CPU usage issues that reduce PC performance. Cannot really use the headset without iCue either. Scratchy audio playback, short range on wireless, very very little replacement parts for things that break, and none of the options available are OEM Corsair, all ebay/Amazon sellers products that are hit-and-miss on quality compared to the original parts. Sound quality is not amazing.. I have been trying to tell a difference between the audio on wireless or over USB (should be dramatically better over USB) but so far nearly no detectable difference in quality, only the volume is slightly more effective. 7.1 is a joke. Virtual Surround sound is JUNK. Would not recommend these over other headsets in the same or even slightly lower pricepoint. I feel like since I use these everyday about 12 hours a day I have a good idea of the value of this headset... its not worth more than $125-150 imo. There are far far better options at the $200+ pricepoint than these or even the newer XT version that from my co-workers testing was junk, has all kinds of bluetooth issues with the XT. I have $800 of Corsair equipment in my build, I have really enjoyed Corsair products overall, but their hype is greater than the performance and even though the build quality is overall good, its not great and does not have fail-tolerance with wear-n-tear parts. Corsair warranty claims are easy to submit overall but they are not going to replace your headset even if like mine, the band and earcups have been replaced or recovered as the protein leather used is basically trash, the earcups break super easy due to tiny tabs made from thin brittle plastic. Maybe avoid Corsair for anything high end until they get their minds right. (Original review:) Sound, comfort, usability with iCUE, lighting, everything except the fricken ear pads is pretty great, adding that switching between USB/Wireless has issues. These earpads are very comfortable. But if you drop the headset, even on carpet...the little tabs will break off the earpads. My headset is protected well, taken care of, looks brands new, functions brand new.. but here I am. I took off one of my earpads to look at the tabs since my wife's headset also has broken tabs and her earcup came off, to see how it works as I'm looking at replacements and in doing so I broke 2 of the three tabs and I didn't even need to use any force to rotate it to unlock. I have never dropped this headset yet today I went from No known issues, to my earpad is no longer going to connect to the headset. Again, my headset is Very well cared for, never dropped. Corsair made ZERO replacements for their proprietary earpad design. If you buy the pads the same thickness as the stock ones that the headset came with, they are reviewed as not as comfortable as the stock pads....if you upgrade to 30mm thick pads the sound is changed and you lose bass which is a MASSIVE deal with these for movies and gaming. If I wanted to give up Bass I'd just buy a HyperX wireless headset for nearly half the price of these. Not happy right now. Monday I need to be using this headset for 8 hours a day and its Saturday..F you for this Corsair. These cost in the upper range of all gaming headsets and you make the only parts that a person touches with hands or head super fragile? W.T.F. I've got two headsets worth of earpads to replace within a year of purchase because the plastic locking ring is affixed with sugarglass strength clips.

Best Gaming headset ever with clean sound!
I normally don’t review but these gaming headphones from Corsair was fantastic! I just got them a few days ago and was able to use them for just about over 10 hours. [I will update when I use them for a longer period of time.] Build Quality : Well made and has some weight on it. Nothing was left cheaply made specially the body. Comfort : They are comfortable but my only drawback was my ears do go inside of the cushions and touches the inside. No biggie really...But the fit on my head was perfect and my ears did feel fine after a few hours of use . Sound : I have nothing to say bad on the sound. It’s perfectly clear and the surround sound works well. However, there's only one way to change it from stereo to 7.1 audio within the software. This is a gaming headset so on music it’s not up to par but way better than most headphones. Can’t really compare apples to apples on say..Sony or Bose headphones but those are mainly for music. When you put it on, you can barely hear ambient sound but just enough for you to hear someone calling you name Mic: It’s pretty clear according to my friend who I had to on the other side of the room. I like how it’s flexible and let you know it’s on or off. I haven’t use this feature much yet but I’ll update when I can. It is also removable. Features : Wireless headphones are great with the usb dongle. I like how you can turn the volume underneath the headphones. There is also a wired mode (to charge it) so if you don’t want wireless you can plug it in with a USB C or the 3.5mm. There’s also a cool special lighting on the side with the corsair logo on it that you can change the lights. Just a cool perk I guess.. Wireless : It's great but just enough to go into the next room nothing further. Not really a drawback. Conclusion : I have no regret purchasing this gaming headphone! I think it has the best bang for you buck compared to others.

The exact OPPOSITE of what I wanted from a premium wireless headset
These headphones have a stellar aesthetic and the RGB integrates nicely with iCUE as you'd expect. Other than that, these headphones were absolutely terrible for me which is why I returned them after a week of trying to like them. I've had a Steelseries Siberia 840 headset for a few years now that is fantastic in every way except for one: prolonged comfort level. After about three hours of wearing it, my ears began to ache very badly unless I take them off to rest for a whole day. This is why I decided to search for an updated premium wireless headset. It's worth noting, my ears are probably taller than average. I have loads of Corsair equipment. My computer case, XD5 pump, RAM, RGB lighting, and most of my case fans are all Corsair and I've come to expect very reliable quality from anything they make. One look at the aesthetic of these Virtuoso headphones and I was immediately convinced this would be a good option. The mainstream reviews all say these headphones are great (as long as you don't look at the Corsair forums where you a more accurate perspective of their favor) so I purchased them, wanting the following things out of my purchase: - Very high quality sound with very loud volume capacity. I'm not adamant about super deep bass as long it's decent and care more about higher end clarity. - Sidetone capability, as using Windows to playback the input the the output device adds way too much latency and makes it impossible to speak when you're hearing yourself played back milliseconds behind - Decent microphone quality - Comfort. This was the only aspect that had me looking for a replacement to my Siberia 840's. I was pleased with the appearance, look, and feel of the Virtuoso headphones when I first unboxed them. They installed quickly and integrated nicely into Corsair iCUE as expected. The microphone quality was very good and the physical controls on the headset felt nice, but this was pretty much where the good impressions ended. I'll be damned if I can find another good thing to say about these headphones. I started up a game and could barely hear the sound, as if the volume was set to 10-20%. I checked to make sure Windows volume and the headphones themselves, as well as the game audio settings were turned all the way up. Still extremely low volume. I then realized that the Corsair "Virtual 7.1 Surround" was enabled, so I turned it off in iCUE, rebooted the game. Still the same issue. Horribly low audio. I then tried turning on Dolby Atmos spatial sound. This made things sound slightly louder but not much. I then tried several different games all with the same result. I reinstalled the receiver device several times in Windows, adjusted the playback device to use both 2 and 8 channel audio at different sample rates, all with the same results. I finally decided to check the Corsair forums for others with this experience and I immediately realized that this was pretty much the norm for this headset and that it wasn't a defect or configuration of any kind. Tons of others who have had the exact same experience. I then forced myself to play anyways at the low volume levels and just cringed at how terrible the audio quality itself was. With or without the virtual surround turned on, everything sounded like it had a flanger effect on it and like all of the low frequencies had been dropped down completely in EQ. I tried a Corsair preset with higher low levels to boost bass, and this improved things only slightly. Listening to music admittedly sounds better than games in this headset, but it's still very average at best. Lastly, I'll address comfort. This one may be highly variable for others given the difference in head and ear shapes and sizes, but in my case, the ear ache that I'm trying to avoid which comes on after about three hours of wearing the Siberia 840's comes in in a tenth of that time after 30 minutes. The materials of the headband and earcuffs feel nice, but the discomfort from depression on the tops of my ears that manifests after only thirty minutes did it in for me. I gave up finding a solution for improving the sound quality I was having at this point. It's possible this would get better over time as the headset breaks in, but the same can't be said for the sound quality. In summary, these headphones absolutely sucked. I returned them after a week (actually even less than that I think). If you're accustomed to premium sound quality as I am with headphones like the Sennheiser HD 700's, or even if you're acclimated to the quality of Steelseries headsets, don't waste a moment of your time considering this. They're absolutely terrible. I'm flabbergasted by the high ratings and reviews these headphones get from so many different sites. I suppose it's possible that if you're only accustomed to built-in TV/monitor speakers or basic headphones that come in the box with your smartphone, then maybe these would be an improvement for you, but if you have any discerning tastes at all in audio quality, you're going to be disappointed. Absolutely nothing about these products other than their appearance and physical build quality resembles the quality that you normally receive from Corsair. I'd love a good quality headset from Corsair that looks like this one and integrates with iCUE like all of my other stuff, but this sure as F*** isn't the one.

way better than logitech
I was a big fan of the g933 headset by logitech, until my second one had the same fate as my first. The power button bent after a year of use and the logitech headset was terrible and their customer service was worse. These Corsair Virtuoso RGB are great. They have an accelerometer inside so they stay on even when there is no sound input. If you leave them on a headset stand or on a desktop, they will turn off by themselves when they dont detect movement! Their ICUE UI needs a little TLC and more cusomization but it is pretty good. The sound quality is great when I set it on FPS or bass mode, depending if I am gaming or listening to music. I love that the mic has a mute button on it, AND you can also just remove it easily when you dont want it attached, and put it back on easily when you want to use it. The range is about 15 feet longer than my old logitech g933, and there is less distortion, except when within 3 feet of a microwave that is in use. They are very comfortable, but they could use about a 1/8th to a 1/4 inch more padding. They dont make my ears feel so hot like the g933s did, but the g933s had just a smidgen more padding which was marginally better than these. I really just like that they work better than the g933s! I am recommending them to everyone that I know that sits in front of a computer for long periods of time and games, watches movies, or listens to music on them.

Great pair of headphones. I won't be disappointed in these.
I originally bought the brand new JBL Quantum 800 headphones that were released early May 2020. I returned those headphones after a couple of weeks due to too many small issues that I felt the $280+tax wasn't worth the cost of those headphones. Things from issues with firmware updates, very touchy scroll wheels for volume and chat (there are two dials on one side which was hard to tell which dial I was turning), as well as disconnections from the headset and the dongle. Sound however was fantastic. Bass and boomy as JBL is known for. Too bad they didn't work out. I really wanted to keep those. I ended up doing more research on gaming headsets to use. I don't play games very much it's mainly another set of wireless headphones I can use at the computer. Originally I was using Bose QC35ii which is still my top pick for sure in terms of comfort and quality. The issues I am having is my Bose headphones no longer connect to my PC via bluetooth and so using it wired was getting annoying (first world problems I know.) I ended up finding these and fell in love with the look of the headphones. There are a lot of reviews but as all headphone reviews go it is hard to really tell without physically trying them out. What I love about these headphones are definitely the first thing that most people notice. It's build quality. Feels very sturdy and the clamp on the ears feel just right. I was concerned at first with these not having active noise cancellation but as a lot of reviews say with the leatherette materials and robust construction when you have any kind of sound going it is as if there is noise cancellation in the headset. That concern was quickly removed. In terms of use of setting up it was very easy as you would expect most headphones. (JBL Quantum 800 was not the case for me) This was plug and play. Windows recognized it right away and shortly after I got a notification from the iCUE app to update the firmware for these headphones. For sound quality it is great I find with all the music I've listened to also. There is a good amount of bass which is very satisfactory for me. Not as boomy as JBL but that is okay. These are designed for gaming and not so much for music. However anything I've listened to so far has been great. I won't miss using my Bose headphones in the mean time. Something I really like is the metal knurled volume scroll. It is very well built and it has some nice friction to it so you don't easily accidentally adjust the volume when you remove or put on your headset. A bit of a long review but after sending back my JBL headphones and purchasing these from Amazon I was happy to have made the switch. It was $20 more but I'd say in terms of dollar value my experience with these headphones would have been worth an extra $100. Perhaps if there was one thing I'd note that I didn't like at first but quickly got used to it.. was my ears touch the inside cups. Not a lot of it you just notice it touching. It wasnt uncomfortable or anything at all. I'd say depending how far out your ears stick you might have this issue. I'd say I'm on the average side of ear sizes. For anything considering these for headphones I don't believe you will be disappointed with these at all.

Best Head Set ever
Over the last 20 years or so I have purchased many head set's. Do not bother with any other Head set this is the best one for sure and I can say so because as a hobby I have been building and using all Pc Components and all the head set brands I have used broke. This one is new however this one Quality wise so far by far the best of the best I once purchased a Head set a few years for $500's the company boasting and puffing the chest's said it was the best of the best it ended up being the worst of the worst ever Head set. This one is only $300's or so and wow the one Brand I have never had issues with is Corsair period full stop.
