Dorman 620-232 Engine Cooling Fan Assembly

Perfect fit on 2002 Honda CRV. Works as expected 5 days in.

Fits a 2002 CRV just like the original part (2002-2006 are the same car). Exact match to original. Someone reviewed that it does not fit a 2005, they are essentially the same car and it will fit. The issue he had is that there are 2 fans. One is a radiator fan, the other is the condenser fan (for A/C). They look very similar. The easiest way to tell is by counting the number of blades on the fan. 5 blade is radiator fan. 7 blades is condenser fan. Once you have that determined and purchase the right one it installs fairly easily. Like most parts on cars now the bolts are 10mm. and depending on you radiator setup you may need to remove the upper hose. There is no reason to drain all the coolant, just enough to get that hose off. Or just remove it and you will get some coolant on your hands. WORD OF ADVISE: The hardware are exposed to a lot of heat and water over their life, they will be rusted. Spray some penetrate oil a day before and you will have a much easier job. I recommend using Aerokroil penetrate oil, it is expensive but you only need a few drops (seriously) and wait a few minutes (up to an hour for those stubborn bolts).

If you are looking at this product you probably have already realized how much this repaired would cost if you paid someone. That being said the price is amazing. I don't know about reliability as I just installed it. Now it appears someone had already replaced this cooling fan with an after market fan and it looks very similar to the one I have so lets say it lasted at least 4 years. The packaging was amazing.. wow. I installed it in my 2004 Honda Element and used YouTube for help. I found it very simple so don't be worried, once you see that there is not much too it you will laugh in the dealers face when he tells you how much he wants to do the job. I did manage to do the job with a few less steps, so make sure you watch multiple videos. I will be putting my video up of the swap as soon as I find time. Installed Dorman 620-232 "cooling fan" in a 2003 Honda element ( in 2025 ) for 70 bucks to my door . Replaced a TYC tiy-3480 from several years before ( in case you wanna go that route ) . The "condenser fan" is Dorman 620-233 @ 57$ delivered and the TYC # tiy-3481 for your info . While you can run you car w/o a working condenser fan , the cooling fan needs to work if you ever want to use A/C or idle . I ran for months w/o condenser fan in south florida , but when the cooling fan went ( in traffic of course ) the AC blew warm and car started to overheat . Getting it up to highway speed w/o running AC brought temp down and worked to get me home. I watched a few youtube videos on replacing and did it all in about 1.5 hours both units . I suggest you watch youtube videos and read all the comments ( that is where the real help will be found ) also buy a bag of those silly clips you have to remove . Old ones dont come out nicely and are a waste of time putting back in . ( nilight 10MM 100pcs 91503-SZ-003 9$ , I only used 20 )

Fan gave out on my Honda element, replaced with this aftermarket one. Haven’t had any problems with it.
