How are these as compression on hamstring? all the comments are about the cup fit. i have been getting hamstring pulls. getting old i guess.

I cannot imagine these doing anything to prevent hamstring pulls. In terms of compression, think well crafted form-fitting underwear, nothing more.

a couple questions: Do the shorts restrict movement at all? are the shorts short enough to not peak out to far under Muay Thai shorts?

I didn't notice any restriction of movement. They work very well. I don't know the length of Muay Thai shorts. You'd have to check what their length is listed as and what your Muay Thai shorts measure.
