desertcart.com: Predator (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + DVD): 0024543874188: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Weathers, Sonny Landham, Kevin Peter Hall, John McTiernan, John Davis, Lawrence Gordon, Jim Thomas, John Thomas: Movies & TV Review: I can't believe how good it looks - When I bought this on 3D Blu-Ray I hadn't heard anything about it, I expected it to be, well, not that great. I was blown away not only by how clear the movie is, but also how well rendered the 3D effects were. Usually when 3D is added in post you get almost like a paper doll / layered 2D effect. Not so with Predator. It looks great, wonderful depth of field. Personally I feel you could put this side by side with any modern film shot in 3D and it would hold its own. It feels brand new all over again. The only thing that's a little off is the scene where Dutch and Dillon meet. There is a slightly unrealistic smoothness to both Schwarzenegger and Weather's faces. But really that's the only time anything feels "processed". It really is an amazing restoration and I really hope they give this treatment to many more of my 80's favorites. Review: Better than I expected. - I've seen a lot of so-called IMAX 3D movies over the past couple of years and for the most part, it's a gimmick. It's not the object floating in front of you that you feel you can touch 3D. It's just a picture with depth to it. With the exception of movies like Gravity, most of these movies are not true 3D. They just take a flat plate in the front, another flat plate for the middle and then the background which give the illusion of depth. Now, enter Predator 3D. The 3D, the way I described it above, is just as good if not better than most of the 3D movies I have seen or even own. I loved it. Predator is already a great movie and in my opinion, Arnold's best acting, but the 3D element gave it more of a kick. I kept finding myself saying "Wow this is cool!" I read a lot of reviews about the picture quality which made me hold off on buying it. I own a lot of older movies on blu-ray and I felt the picture quality was great. The close-ups of the actors, the clarity of the beads of sweat on their faces. There were details that I never noticed before. For $9.99, Predator 3D was well worth the purchase to see an already great film with new eyes.

GET TO THE CHOPPER!!!!
PROS: Video and Audio qaulity on the Blue ray disk are excellent. The DVD is good but not as great as the Blue ray disk. Most of the 3D scenes are exceptional. All video quality is in outstanding, vibrant color. CONS: Not all scenes are in 3D. Most of the jungle scenes are in 3D. The climatic battle sequence when the predator shoots his blaster into the trees is not in 3D (I was so disappointed). The disk cover says the movie is a Blue ray 3D + Blue ray + DVD, when in actuality, it is really only Blue ray 3D and DVD only. If this were any other movie, I would have given less stars. But since this is, in my opinion one of Arnold Schwarzenegger's better movies, I gave 4/5 stars based on the pros and cons I listed above.

Awesome! My favorite yet. I can't recommend it more. I Ain't got time to bleed but I do have time to watch this again.
I saw Predator in theaters back and the 80s (then on VHD and DVD) and it didn't look or sound as great as the Blu Ray. The remastering looks great, looks like a new film with young cast. There's a spot where Carl's Weathers looks a bit airbrushed when they meet with the General( less then a minute mostly due to his tone in a dark hit I guess). The 3D version is great too. For the most part it's very well done, here and there the prospective distance seems to me off a bit... Not wrong off a bit... But it's a very small amount of time in the total film. The audio is great, and regardless of which version you watch (SD, HD 2D or 3d) you'll be pleased... Unless your one of those snobs that are never happy.

3D Predator Blu-ray
If you are a Predator fan and you love 3D, this movie is for you. It looks great. Especially considering this was never shot in 3D in the first place. Of course if you are a purist, then the 2D Ultimate Hunter Edition or an earlier edition is probably for you. I love both the 2D and 3D versions. The 3D here adds an extra pop that you will notice immediately. I am honestly amazed at how they were able to make the 3D look so good after all these years. I think if you are a fan of 3D and understand the limitations of the format, this movie will check all the boxes for you. I really enjoyed it from start to finish. I would highly recommend and don't feel the least bit cheated buying this thing again in yet another format. One of the best action movies of all time made even more interesting with the addition of 3D.

A worthy revamp of an 80s classics
What could make Predator any better than it already is? Why a full digital restoration and 3D of course! My brother and I sat down the other week to rewatch one of our favorite childhood movies in glorious 3D on his 125in projector screen. It was epic! The digital cleanup was substantial but not so much that everyone looked like wax figures. It simply cleaned the distracting grain of the original print. The HD audio was amazing and took full advantage of the audio spectrum. The explosions were deep and boomy, gunfire accurately whizzed about the surround speakers, and Arnold's Oscar worthy dialogue was crisp and clear. "Get to the choppa!" never sounded better. The 3D impressed us both by being immersive but not gimmicky or distracting. The depth of field really brought you into the jungle with Arnie. Overall I was very impressed with this release and look forward to other Schwarzenegger flicks to get similar treatment.

Predator 3d review
I disagree with most of the favorable 3d reviews. Look...this is a classic sci fi movie, and it looks better on blu ray 3d..but if I was to give a 3d review I would say its not near a good conversion, I saw ghosting,(if that is what slight double vision is) and just not quality 3d. I realize it was a conversion, and yes..again..its better in blu ray 3d that regular dvd ,BUT,its not even average 3d. 3d lovers can go to blu ray.com and get 3d reviews and while their not always right on, they are very helpful with 3d reviews b4 3d lovers spend their cash(like me). The plus on Predator 3D was its low price(very, very reasonable)and a chance to get it on blu ray. I gave it 3 stars because its still a very good movie. Sorry ...I can't say this is one to add to a 3D collection.
